Hmm I only had ones with red bean paste and sweet potato filling. It's very much like a baked Japanese manju. I would say it's more on the doughy side of pastries so it really depends which kind of confectionery is more to your tastes. The ones I had weren't too sweet either, they went really well with sencha.

LOL I'm sorry! I suck at describing food. Hmm basically is a very dense paste-like filling (like hmm mashed potatoes texture) in a thin crust that's not exactly crispy but firm and thin. It's usually soft when you bite into it but not delicate. And it's also a bit dry so it goes well with slightly bitter green tea.

My landlord at one point ran a Chinese restaurant so I enjoyed their jumbo shrimp
