Balance can also be money..like you borrowed 100$ then you paid 80$. So you still have a balance of 20$.
Or you deposited a money of 100$ then you withdraw 80$ so you still have a balance of 20$.
Balance is like the remaining debt or remaining money you have.
I dont know if im right though..but something like that.
