I was really disappointed to hear my dad say "as someone who didn't read the books, I thought it was a great movie."

@UnGrave it always astonishes me when people who haven't read the source material can dismiss the options of those who have.

I have read every book in the Artemis Fowl series. What made it good was the fact that a single human boy could screw over the entire LEP using their own rules. His growth in the later books was also great.

it was one of my favourite books as a kid. I really liked him screwing up the Lep and getting busted in turn. Plus he's gradual growth over the course of the series.

The trailer was a travesty. It started with him surfing too <.<

I didn't watch the film but a buddy ranted about it a ton to me.that artemis who's super unathletic shows up surfing within the first 10 minutes of the film. There's nothing about artemis kidnapping holly and ransoming her for gold. Instead the whole film is about someone kidnapping artemis's dad and forcing artemis to get him an ancient artefact.

Apparently knowledge of fairies were a family secret that artemis didn't know of. Tons of people know fairies exist other than too.
quite a few characters are changed and holly and artemis become friends and "potential love interests" midway through

Plus a lot of other stuff. Wtf

BRUH I AM ALSO MAD. AF was one of my favorite series, and they butchered it even worse than PJO??? The critical response section on Wkipedia is just plain SAD.
