Isn't it cuz China, or rather, the CCP, is implementing stricter regulations on its tech firms? Essentially sabotaging its own industry monopoly cum growth story in its (mostly) unfounded fear of losing control? IDK, I've only heard of crackdowns on billionaires and powerful companies and this was just an attempt to connect what seemed to be the dots...

A few years ago there was an article that bragged that if Yahoo had maintained their large stake in Alibaba which was reduced they would have been worth 100 billion instead of about 10 billion.
People ignore the fact that the CCP is essentially crazy.

Parallel Love: I should have fled the moment all the reviews/comments were all on how hot the male lead is. There is no plot

It feels rather pointless since the male lead is a one-way train.
He doesn't look at another woman.
If he was a player then it might have had an impact in the plot.
It feels like how authors pad word count in novels

I don't see the need for love rivals in most dramas that have a clear cut couple. It seems like torturing a poor character by dangling hopes in front of them for fun, honestly

True. Usually, they just make them evil even when it doesn't make sense.
It is happening in My Fated Boy but they made the girl sympathetic which was nice but then they brought another female love rival. She isn't as developed

        It was low budget crap
South Korean movies have come a long way since 1990
You forgot they won an Oscar last year.
Their movies are more mature than their dramas: lots of nudity and violence
The French love them, they win lots of awards there

I don't really pay attention to awards and shiz, an Oscar means they're good sure but some dude made a YouTube video about tape and also won an Oscar, though that video is a masterpiece. I still won't try Korean or Asian dramas in general though. Just don't vibe with them.

Like I said, it depends on your likes.
Culture shock is the biggest issue, but if you are watching a Korean adaptation of something you are already familiar with eg a manga. It isn't as bad.
Netflix is producing a lot of Korean dramas so they make theirs more westernized.

Korean comics are also getting adapted into anime eg god of high school. Korean media are not as unfamiliar to western audiences anymore

No, it is cultural. I never got that as a kid. We are being hounded for not being respectful to elders.

Steve Jobs never wore a suit.
At the end of the day, you make yourself feel pressured when you try too hard to please others.

Just relax and live your life.

If I needed professionals, I will go on Fiverr.
I just want fans of dramas or novels to recommend dramas or novels they like to other fans.

A professional article will feel too stiff and forced.

You know, just like someone who is paid for sex like a prostitute.
The person doesn't like the customer, they are just getting paid.

The same way a professional writer might not like the drama

So yes, in life, there are some things that being unprofessional is an advantage.

        Cheers!
