Why 112? 100 sounds nice enough. And now that I think about it, I wonder why 911.... It's so random.

It's a stupid reason. Basically, whenever there was a fire or accident, people would ask for police first, so that they can say,
"Well, I possibly couldn't be the culprit, i called the police."
And because of that, no one would call ambulance and stuff, so they decided to start with a clean slate

That sounds sad lol. That's actually why most countries started making a single hotline for all of them.
