No. Basically yes, when we usually use poison in the generic term.
poison - a substance that is capable of causing the illness or death of a living organism when introduced or absorbed.
venom - a poisonous substance secreted by animals such as snakes, spiders, and scorpions and typically injected into prey or aggressors by biting or stinging.
Here's a question, if a zombie bit you, would you think the saliva in their mouths that are effective carriers of the pathogen as poisonous or venomous?
The pathogen is in the saliva, the saliva is being secreted by the mouth via salivary glands, when someone is bitten, the pathogen is basically injected into the person as the bite happens. Poison would only occur if YOU ate zombie flesh.
