You give yourself too less credit. I remember the thread you made about being in the rurals and it was really beautiful.
Thank you for your kind words but that was more an anomaly than the norm, I believe (and a low-key rant softly disguised). But any protracted piece of prose writing is beyond me; I'd much rather read one. <.<
Those who dog ear pages of borrowed books deserve to be fed to dogs. How couldn't those savage vandals have never heard of bookmarks?
"Rare visit"? Otaku-kun~ are you sure you should be saying that? It might end up with you getting spam from me to make sure my visits aren't rare anymore~ And yes >.> I wished to know how you were doing. >.< Drink the water slowly! You might choke! *pats head lightly* Btw, I thought "commonplaces" meant a common place... Until I searched it up XD I learn smth new from you everytime.
I'm doing surprisingly fine for a man who has had his broom stolen. And how has life been treating the goddess lately?
Stolen?! *coughs* *gifts vacuum cleaner* Better?~ ^^ Life has been making me busy! I have been cooking a lot lately so that's very fun and interesting haha Are you a lecturer or a professor?
A holiday, a blessed holyday, an unexpected holiday on the horizon! After a gruelling 7 day work week (no Sundays spared), this news...
You know you are in desperate need of some good cheer when you buy a book subtitled 'Optimism' (aka 'Candide' by Voltaire).
Nothing as alarming. Just good ole curiosity acting up, and the insatiable thirst for books assuaging itself blindly, not caring if the trough is poisoned.
Apparently, utopia can mean both 'the good place' (eutopos) and 'no place' (outopos), the significance being no such ideal place could exist
'Erewhon' (novel) by Samuel Butler is meant to be read as 'Nowhere', which would make it a novel on utopia. Yet, the very fact it is more or less 'utopia' written backwards makes it an inversion of utopic ideals (not strictly dystopia tho)... and Erewhon just happens to be a satire on utopia which includes both utopic and dystopic elements. Whew...
Everybody screamed When I kissed the teacher And they must have thought they dreamed When I kissed the teacher All my friends at school They had never seen the teacher blush He looked like a fool Nearly petrified 'cause he was taken by surprise
Me, watching an infatuated colleague at a bakery: You're supposed to feast on the pastries and savories, not on the girl behind the counter.
In the face of the crushing unknown, my confidence is like a newborn foal trying to raise itself up on trembling legs...
Otaku-kuuuuuuun~ This goddess visits~ *steals broom* Mine, mwahaha~ Anyway, be sassy and eloquent always! This goddess blesses you with wealth hehe~
There is no joy in Joyce. Why do I feel he intended to mess with his readers' heads? And he does it, too, with great success.
No, just an ordinary hooman with an acute awareness of how doggos tend to jump on you, irrespective of their SIZE.
