    Chinese Sentence Practice (Late-Elementary Level)

Purpose: Practice your Chinese vocabulary with others by making sentences (or paragraphs or more) and conversing with others.

    Difficulty Level: Late-Elementary

    • The difficulty level of this thread is HSK 4 and below.
    • Even if you are more advanced, try to limit your vocabulary to so that someone studying Chinese for ~2 years (1200 word vocabulary) can understand you without abusing the dictionary every other word.
    • This is equivalent to the level of a third grader in China.
    • If this thread is too easy/too hard for you, I recommend starting a new thread (or ask me to start a new one for you) so that the difficulty levels are manageable for everyone using the thread. Other difficulty levels available:
    How to participate:
    • Quote the person you are responding to.
    • Make a sentence (or more) on the topic the previous person suggested.
    • Provide a new topic for the next poster.
    • Definitely do not hesitate to correct someone else's sentence/point out if something sounds weird or is just plain wrong, because we're all here to learn!
    Let's start!

I think it's fine! The point is to practice more! Actually, I'm around HSK 3, but I want to improve so I made a thread around HSK 4 >w<

Good question! Hopefully a kind soul (one of the translator gods *prays*) will stumble along and be able to correct us!

And I think it's fine to discuss too... though honestly I'm no good either. >____<

(I actually have never written 寄 before, so thank you for adding another word to my vocabulary! \o/)

I think if it were me saying this in real life, I think I might have added a 了 or a 会 to help clarify the tense, otherwise I'm not sure which tense the sentence is in.

    今天我寄了一个邮件 (past tense)
    今天会我寄一个邮件 (future tense)

I think it fine to say 个 when you are speaking (口语). But grammar nazis would try to use the the 量词 (the particle). I didn't know the particle for 邮件, so I googled it, and it turns out it is 封. So the most proper way of writing this would be:

    今天我寄了一封邮件 。

I think.............. but I also might be entirely wrong. >______<

Mb I forgot to write 一。
yes my teacher told me that when you don't know you can just say 个. I know just simple one like
    个generic particle
座for big things for exemple building
把for thing with handle, like knife, tools
    杯for cup, glasses...
    张for flat things like tickets
    朵for flowers
    条for long things like fish,
    只for dogs, cats
位people, sign of respect like teacher
    棵tree
    辆car...

Yup! My teacher taught me that too! So you should be fine saying 个 most of the time!

    好可怕!我希望你的爸爸身体健康!

    我最喜欢喝的茶是乌龙茶。

    我一般不看电影。这算是奇怪吗?我还是动画片看得多。
