Name: 我和我的四个伴舞 (Me and My Four Back Up Dancers) Raw Link: https://www.gongzicp.com/novel/index/id/11542 Why It Should Get Picked Up: Short (only 44 main chapters!), cute, and sweet. It's a Chinese Boy Band AU and it's very adorable and funny. There's also a high quality audio drama for this novel on Missevan with great artworks (here) and all 5 voice actors are fairly popular in the CV world. It's a realllyyyyyyy good story, would love for it to get a translation. It's funny and light-hearted, sometimes you just want to read a novel that's entertaining and simple. QAQ. Also I like the length - I feel like not all novels need to be hundreds of chapters long with many plot twists and different characters. This novel moves at a decent pace, with a good amount of characters and I love how simple it is to remember everyone's role and names in the plot. So many funny internet terms and fan forum posts/comments. Feels like reading about an actual boy band UWU. Description (if you can find one): (I translated it myself but it's not too great since I don't understand Chinese internet terms) When Yan Shuo's private weibo account gets exposed, overnight his idol image as the popular boy group M.E.N's "kind-hearted and nice leader" collapses. A forum post discussing the gossip: Congratulations to Yan Shuo gege for receiving the position as alphabet group's new center! Key mention: His four useless back up dancers. Hot-topic boy group, flimsy brotherhood. The group's internal/main CP: Extremely cold and introverted gong VS Fanservice king within the idol world who is portrayed as a welcoming and kind leader, who actually thinks of his model-like band members as his back up dancers, and is also a self-centered narcissistic shou. 1V1, HE (Happy Ending).
This looks adorable! +1, I agree with you. Sometimes too many chapters can be overwhelming, especially when you're pressed for time. Good short reads are nice because you don't need to commit too much time! The cover looks like it could be an art for an otome game
Hi! I'm a newcomer to Novelupdates, so forgive me if I do anything wrong, but I think my translation group would be willing to pick this up if nobody else has already.
It's a fan scanlation, not translation. As far as I know, there's no official translation or scanlation of the novel or the manhua.
On a second note, we will not be picking up this novel, our reason being that we most likely wouldn't be able to get the author's permission to do a fan translation, based on what we saw on their Weibo account.
