Honestly I personally like Tess and art together, this is just my opinion. His last life was spent just ruling and going to war so he didn't really feel any human emotions like love. When he reincarnated he started to feel and act like a normal person would and not like his old self(refering to how he loves his family) and when he is seperated from them he still thinks about them. Also the fact that meeting Tess and saving her also helped her character development since she was a lone princess before. Also being related to Tess would help in the long run to and both have feelings for each other since I don't think art would risk his life for her multiple times if there was nothing going on. Also if they felt like siblings then I don't think art would let Sylvie call Tess mama. Tess is my favourite fl out of them all, while the others never really saw art for who he was and were either interested in his looks or power, but Tess grew up with him. Also I haven't seen art's parents acknowledge anyone other that Tess. This is just my opinion and while I have mine I will respect the ones that others have. The reason I want some romance is so that art can be different from his past life and have a happy family. I actually want to see what the ending is.
Bro every single character development was ruined ,I was so annoyed by the Romance part but besides that I rly loved this novel...but as I read further and further I am so disappointed in how the author went with this Major spoliers ahead - Bro because Tess couldn't stay and escaped Sylvie practically dies and Arthur's mana core is destroyed. Yet in the current arc, Arthur doesn't feel any resentment towards her at all and in fact all he cares about is what she will think about his new appearance. It just sucks. I don't know what happens next cuz I dropped it , still so sad how they made the mom out to be , I think I'm even more sad abt that cuz Tess is just..I gave up on her ages ago. In my opinion Tess was an alright character up until the battle in the Elshire Forest mainly because she acted like an idiot and continues to do so It's been a while since I hv read it so I'm not exactly sure what had happened but I still feel the annoyed when I see the title. Although if it gets better later do tell me . I would love for my love for this novel to be rekindled , if you are curious why I am so annoyed by this novel , I can rant abt it if u want.
Keep in mind that I'm gonna be rambling a lot in this haha....just releasing my frustrations at the author for slightly spoiling a good plot for me and breaking my trans while involved in the novel lol I don't know if it's just me or not but don't you feel like either the author is slightly dumb(which I'm sure is not the case seeing the plots he comes up with) or he's just thinking the readers are dumb. I felt in soo many cases where art(grey) could have made good decisions and understand the obvious schemes going on yet he and no other characters seem to understand anything and though it keeps on saying millions of times that he's much much more mature than regular adults he just acts on whims just to further the plot. Spoiler Firstly(correct me if I'm wrong) during the battle in which his dad dies...When he comes back and sees that the actual plan of sacrificing part of the WALL is not being implemented and that the soldiers are fighting the beasts... shouldn't he first look for his dad who might be fighting then???.... And then comes some cliched emotional drama....I was literally dumbfounded by the stupidity of the entire thing... Don't get me wrong...the emotional descriptions and all are well written...but ultimately her mother is a medic...not a fighter...her life isn't in constant danger like his dad right?...so instead he should be worrying about his dad mainly?....Secondly 'TRAINS'??? seriously?...though this is not shown in the story...How the hell would trains solve anything???...and what the hell of a difference does it make if it's on land or underground???....the earth elemental mages and dwarves clearly can go underground and it has been a constant reminder that their retainers and scythes are much much powerful...AND the path of the train is a constant right???...Isn't it like putting food in a glass jar in front of a bear hoping it can't break it and eat it???....Though there have been many many other situations more suitable for my argument I can't remember them now XD...Finally... in the old broke beak arc(the crows type ones) isn't it reallly really obvious that he was being used?...if not at the start then when he reaches the village of the four arms or something race...He keeps talking about the 'hints'...I felt like hitting the guy with a hammer large enough to smash his brains...The act of having houses itself is a sign of intelligence right?...and he has already seen the bears... If he's gonna stick to his morals and convictions he should have already known that the tribes are all intelligent beings...then it''s obvious that the cause of them attacking is because of the escort crow(or something they are called)....that they attacked...and even then...when the chief challenged him to a duel...he thought nothing of it???...is his brain in a dumpster or in hibernation that only works in a short intervals?? and then did he really have to kill the chief in the dual(four handed cheif)???....anyways...(I know I'm rambling a lot xd) Then let's come to the love interest part lol...I mean... does an author not get a better logic than.. the girl follows the MC cuz he seems interesting and the MC is unable to reject her?....*sigh*....I mean... firstly the hell is the logic for for him just accepting whatever shit Caera tell him??? He rejects many others for fear of not wanting his abilities known...then he doesn't even say a thing when she clearly lied about her identity and even knowing that she comes from a high blood family...Even if she is fine about hiding his identity of an aether user...who knows how she would react after knowing that he's from Dicathon???...though the author made her out to be on the side of grey later...he couldn't have predicted it all then...and then he speaks of aether in front of all...isn't that like killing them all then and there???...or was he thinking that no one would say anything once they exit???... And though Ceara knows sooo much about him... he asks her nothing????....and he even says everything single thing about him....the lame ass explanation of *tired of hiding things* doesn't sound convincing at all to me....hasn't he been hiding things all along for both of his lives???...and if he really wanted to reveal his secrets...he could have told soo many other people about it...so isn't this just him showing off...and a convenient excuse for the author to build this progress...haha...so much ranting...well...he could have found out everything about her...I honestly have seen no use of her in the two realms(though she helps outside the relictombs)...at that point in time she was more of a danger for him... more so than anything... If his abilities and identity got leaked out... Agrona would be infront of him in literally an instant right?
Any guesses on if art is gonna end up with Tessia or Caera?...and what happens with Nico and Cecelia(Tessia)?...do you think art ends up with Caera and Nico with Cecelia or that nice is just gonna die?...and any other theories?...also how many scenarios did you feel that Art is really dumb and could have made better choices haha(like not telling nor doing anything about the fact that Agrona could invade Sylvie's body?... I mean...isn't it like a free ticket for him to inside the castle?)
At this point, even if they win the war it's not going to feel like a victory considering the amount of losses they took. The damage to their continent is immeasurable. The Elves have basically been wiped of the map. They're basically an endangered species at this point. Right now the enemy has so much of an upper hand that the only chance Decathin has a chance to win is if they get a shit ton of reinforcements from somewhere and Author becomes some sort of God. I don't know what the writer is doing to the story at this point, but it's not looking good for the home team. Don't get me wrong it's still an interesting story but somewhere along the way it kind of swerved left.
Honestly it felt like it just kept getting more cliche and tropey as it went on. I read up to I believe chapter 113, and most of the spoilers I read were basically exactly how I thought the story would end up (although I didn't think Sylvie would sacrifice her strength for Arthur).

I'm cool with Tess and all, I rather him have a romance than grow alone again in this life but what I just find weird is the execution of their so called romance because at the earlier chapters Art drew a line with one of the girls who has a crush on him for the reason that she only has a crush on him because he changed her life and/or saved her and that what she has is the feeling of admiration but isn't that technically the same with Tess? He also saved her life from those who kidnapped her and changed her life(she could've been sold as a slave or sumthing, the granpa will be able to save her but the trauma will still remain) and he also showed her how skilled and strong he is on their first meeting so what makes her different from the other girls apart from she met him earlier and became the first girl he had a close relationship with? It just contradicts with Art's character Edited: Nevermind just read the spoilers and there's more history to their relationship than that but I'm guessing the author just added it to build the foundation as to why she should be his partner.
Well, I just reached the part where he tells his parents about his life and I wanted to see if he at least recovers that "connection" because he ruined the whole pretence of what was happening from ch1 to ch 100... and I'm reading his dad died, and then he turns into grey... that's it? for a novel that talks so much about "bonds" and "family" and "memories" it disposed of all that so easily? the reaction of both parents was... weird... as a parent my self I find it extremely weird that they would renege of their kid that way, no matter if he's "reincarnated" or otherwise, he still lived with them and was part of their lives, hell, under the logic of the novel they wouldn't be able to adopt a kid... I'm not talking about the whole "supernatural" aspect but from an emotional point of view it doesn't make sense that they "disown" him that fast and just leave it at that. "I'll be gone for years" "yeah you do that we can talk... woops! I'm dead!"... I don't know but it felt like the whole point the author was trying to make from the start of the novel was just thrown in a bin regarding familial relationships, didn't mom say "whatever it is, whenever you're ready, we're here for you" and then NOPE "you killed/took place of our fetus" it's as if the kid you've being taking care of and cuddling and teaching and trying to raise suddenly vanished... emotionally it doesn't work that way... you need a certain degree of attachment to your kids that supersedes everything else, as a parent of an adoptive daughter I found that to be incredibly... strange. different values? then what was the point of the OTHER 100 CHAPTERS TALKING ABOUT THOSE SAME VALUES!?!?!?!?
Okay this novel is filled with plot holes... Like - 1. How did Tessa a princess, not even have a single guard with her I mean she is a princess, it doesn't make sense to kidnap her they easily and those kidnappers were not even strong since our MC killed them all easily even when he was very weak and in a 5-year-old body. 2. As a older brother, Even if my younger brother is super strong I wouldn't allow him to be a adventurer even over my dead body cuz he is just a 9 year old. 3. Mc rejected a girl since he thinks what she had was gratitude not love, it's correct and it applies with tess too, since they are just 12 years, I mean which 12 year old understands the meaning of love, and he watched her growing up even if he is in a 12-year-old body, I don't think a grown adult would have a romantic inclination towards a kid ( I am not against romance but it could wait until he was 18 years old with a person he hasn't watched growing up so that it doesn't feel like he is committing a crime) 4. As a king you need to be good at making relationships and how to solve things without using violence which I don't see in the Mc. And there are so many more things in short this story has potential but not well executed.
Allow me to help you a bit with some context of how a story is supposed to be written according to my vague understanding of story writing and the plot devices used in this story, this is from a writers perspective, not a readers perspective. 1. It shouldn't matter, the author needed a way for the MC to show his prowess while at the same time connecting with the Elf princess, generally, you can create conflict out of thin air to present a new plot device or introduce new characters, it doesn't hurt the story in itself, a "plot hole" is something that goes against what has being established in the story, this isn't a plot hole because it was never established that she had "guards", how did they kidnap her? we don't know and it's unimportant, regarding the power level, well, that's a problem with most stories of this kind, but so far we don't have a full grasp of what the average power level is for this particular kind of people... yes it's a cop out from the author (the easiest excuse to make them bond in a way), but it's not a plot hole. 2. That's how you rationalize things, I agree that the author just kind of skims over this kinds of occurrences but again, not a plot hole, because no age restriction was established... it's more to do with "power levels" than "age" and he's powerful way beyond your regular 9 year old. 3. I don't know how far you've read, but there is no romantic relationship between him and anyone else, and the "age" thingy I've found to be very VERY relative to certain western cultures, "he's committing a crime" talks about your own cultural context and bias, not saying you're wrong, just saying it's not the same on every country. also, not a plot hole 4. Once more, I don't know how far you've read, but King Grey was a "King" because in his world "Kings" were the ones that won "duels" for their kingdom, they were basically the strongest man in their country and were crowned, called upon to "Duel" other "Kings" when there were disagreements and political disputes, international problems, things like that, they solved all those via duels. once more, not a plot hole. Just saying, Plot hole - Wikipedia is used a lot of times but is mostly misinterpreted, you need to see what the author has being building, not just think about what you want to happen or how you would have written it, think about what the "world" the author is creating with each chapter, if someone "hates" broccoli and later he eats it without explanation whatsoever and enjoys it, THAT's a plot hole.
