Sorry guys, I think Im ranting... I've been reading novels ever since I was a kid... of course it started with western novels Then from anime, I slowly found manga.. got totally obsessed with it ( ̄▽ ̄*)ゞ eheheh Years after that, I got a lil more normal n somehow after not finding western novels/manga that immediately hooked me, I stumbled upon royalroad and novelupdates after that I have been obsessed ever since... recently, I realized that Ive pretty much read up to the latest translated chapters & wanted ro read a western novel 4 a change... cuz its in english, duh. (The only thing stopping me from reading the raws is the fact that i dont knw the language THIS is when i found a problem... I cannot! 4 the life of me! find a western novel as interesting & with so much variety like I can here . I have been spoilt by choices... and hooked onto certain type of categories Reincarnation/transmigration/other world/2nd chances etc Smart OP MC Kick@ss female protagonist Gaming elements Revenge BL Etc etc etc Where the heck can I find interesting novels which meet my requirements now! Every western novel i find with a female lead ends up having a major romance aspect... or the MC is just not good enough... most novels with a male lead, without romance, is just a bunch of action packed stuff that Im not into... And any that dont fall into this pattern, I have probably read... ლ(¯ロ¯"ლ) Any suggestins, novel wise or otherwise that could help? Anything whatsoever... (Yes I knw, i should focus on RL if i cant find novels... but im desperate here...) P.S. The Black jewels by anne bishop is pretty much one of the only western novels I could read over at this point. Its a good read, so I totally recommend it.
well, Western is more gritty that's why. it's also a culture with a love hate, hate love sort of semantic. When I think of Western Novels, it bridges on Cowboys, Sci-Fi, Conquering a frontier, Battles for land, etc. Like an era bewteen the 1700s-1900s
You could try a few of the Russian novels out there, like Play to Live. I've always preferred novels over everything else so none of the options quite fit.
fan fic bro, it is the next step there's some really really good harry potter fan fic out there. Common themes such as do-over fics are comon and occasionally done to near professional quality. my personal favorite hp fan fic is called the wind shear. give it a read hp goes back in time to set shit straight.
Well i guess I'll list you a few of my fav western novels, though I guess I should say all are female mc and fantasy. Alanna the first Adventure Green Rider Sabriel Fire (2nd book in a series but can be read standalone without missing anything, separate story from 1st novel) The fall of a kingdom (2 male mc 1 fem Mc) The Goblin Woods Terrier (by Tamora Pierce) I like novels from Pierce for her strong female characters that rely on their own powers to get further, are human and wwll rounded, and have a nice love story without it being the main plot. I like the green rider series for the same reason. Sabriel is similar but halfway the male love interest becomes a bit bigger, my fav novel though perhaps. These are all relatively older and should be discount in store or readily in library too~ I hope one catches your eye
Then try 100 luck & the dragon tamer skill from sylthorian site ~ mc op ? Yea. But not instant. Book one are his road from normal to abnormal
Thx 4 the suggestion! The premise seems interesting! Hope its written well too Theres yes, all of the above. Its meant to cover asian novels over other forms. And nope is supposed to cover other novels/anime/manga/anything else over this site. Most ppl knw that novels are the best form to get the most detail anyways... so I do agree with u.
Ran into this issue as well and while shopping on amazon I saw an ad for this book. Haven’t read it yet but it looks pretty interesting. Not sure if it’s any good in reality though. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077SFF619/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I2H2HWDM7J1HP3&colid=1WO72IG0GDTPD&psc=0
mylovelywriter on wattpad has this series "Celeste Academy" which is amazing. It's one of the only english novel series I still keep up with. I think it would be something that would pique your interest. It doesn't have anything to do with gaming but the MC is a kickass female who ends up in a different world. Highly recommend! Here's the link if you wanna check it out! https://www.wattpad.com/story/2550495-published-knight-celeste-academy-series-bk-1
I still play games. I just blew 700SGD buying a ps4 Pro and monster hunter world. Whatever LNs bring me right now, still can't beat games. Edit: right. novels. I liked RE:Hamster just for the sheer fucking randomness it had ( and nsfw stuff I guess? More for the randomness). Author stopped writing it tho and after that, I've written off English LNs completely.
Reading the post & commenting isnt a compulsion... there r polls & a host of other posts 4 u 2 give a f#ck about <( ̄^ ̄)>

I had that written down to look at at some point, recall it being said that after 2 or 3 they start to go downhill? Also have We Are Legion (Dennis Taylor), Dungeon Born (Dakota Kraut), and Zombie Knight Saga (George Frost) written down.
