@Luna Nightwing , when I read about all the things the imperial family was doing to Renee, my blood was boiling like crazy. Basically, it’s strangers telling her how to live her life and that means that she has no say in how she lives her life. I hate every single one of them because they are all in it together. It is undoubtedly a conspiracy among them even if some do only certain parts of the threatening. It’s their comprehensive plan to set up their power for the new generation.

This was already spoiled on this thread so I tried to be brief.
    • Renee spends her two days solely in her room. The high priest is released from prison and Lily receives her acceptance letter along with an apology about an error with the paper. Lily thought it strange and suspected it but Renee encouraged her to go and she went away to the Gloria dormitory. Consequently, Renee had the room to herself to think. Cavert visited her over the two days but she refused his visits. Her excuse is that she couldn’t bring herself to see him now. Yet, she told the priests to tell him that she didn’t want to see him and that his visits are burdensome. The priests reported back that the duke didn’t look good but shut up when they saw it was the same for her.
    • The next morning, at dawn, Renee wakes up and it’s snowing. She goes outside and is looking at the snow and at the end of her gaze is Cavert. Somehow his existence came as no surprise. At dawn, on a snowy day, she came out thinking it’s sad only to find Cavert coming to her that early in the morning. Today they will be picking her up to go to the imperial city so it would be her last time to talk to him.
    • Renee tells Cavert to let them take a short walk. Cavert doesn’t answer but silently follows her. Renee thinks it’s painful to accept this now. She wants to get through the moment as calmly as she can but the more she walks, the more her heart feels like it’s falling down. It falls endlessly down with a heavy pendulum and even the dull beating of her heart every time it’s with him feels like a beautiful pain.
    • Renee says a lot has happened. She tells Cavert that because she was next to him she did him a disservice. Cavert refutes her claim. He wasn’t damaged much at all. Cavert catches her arm and Renee notes that the hand holding her arm was so careful even at that moment that she feels miserable again. She thinks that she never thought it would be painful to her to see him being so careful with her. Renee tells him that indeed she found out later that La Debus has a lot of money so the money he would need to pay would have worked out. Cavert says yes and that had nothing to do with her. It’s not her fault. Renee rejects that. It was because of her and how could she not care? It’s the duke’s business so of course it bothered her.
    • Cavert was silent. He finds out that Renee spoke to the princess and his face hardens. He asks Renee what did they speak about. Renee asks him what does he think they spoke about. Cavert tells her to stop everything she’s thinking. Renee tells him that he said everything is fine but she’s not fine. She draws back from Cavert. She asks him if he received the paperwork for the rewards (marriage to the princess) from Iiknur since he made the most significant contribution. Cavert says that’s something he doesn’t need to accept. Renee says that’s not all. She thinks that Cavert didn’t know about the existence of the document that the princess showed her particularly about his father’s involvement. She can’t bring herself to reveal all of what she learned about his father and his brother did. He’s already suffering from their loss and she doesn’t want to make it worse.
    • While she’s pondering on this secret, Cavert surprises her and says is it about the contract with Kervian? Renee realizes that he must have been suspicious about what happened three years and found out the truth. Yes, he must have known what his father and brother did a long time ago. Renee tells Cavert that she doesn’t want him to suffer anymore. Cavert tells her if she doesn’t want him to suffer, why doesn’t she think of how much he will suffer from this? He tells her that he’s already suffered losses from them. But, why do they want to make her his loss.
    • Renee’s heart aches when she hears Cavert’s trembling voice. She looks into his eyes and grows distressed by emotion. Her eyes grow hot and she bites her lip. She steels herself and tells Cavert in a stern voice not to come to the temple again. She barely holds back her tears but her words were already filled with tears. Renee tells him she’s going into Gloria’s and she’s going to be a saint. She says he shouldn’t be next to her. She doesn’t know what the imperial family will do to him. Cavert responds that the risks are manageable
    • Renee says she hates it. When she says this, Cavert’s hand that was trying to reach out to her, stops abruptly in the air. Renee thinks that the gap between them was about to expand endlessly. She reflects that she has thought a lot in the past two days. She came to a rational decision but she still hadn’t accepted it emotionally. She didn’t want to leave Cavert but she had to do it. The imperial family already had documents to threaten him and as Mahala said, her actions determined his safety. Since they always sent him to dangerous battlefields, he might be pushed to a cliff this time. He always came back alive but she didn’t want to see him suffer so much because of her. He said it was okay but it wasn’t okay for her. She doesn’t yet have the strength to protect him.
    • Renee tells Cavert that they have to stop seeing each other. Cavert is stunned by her declaration. She tells him not to say hello to her first and don’t talk to her. Don’t act like they know each other at all. Renee feels that the more she speaks, the more her pronunciation is crushed. She’s taken deep breaths to help herself speak several times but all she wants to do was shake off the words. Her eyes glisten with tears as she said her final goodbye to him. Renee tells him that’s it for them and then she embraced him impulsively as he bowed slightly in her embrace with a bewildered expression on his face. She slips from him before he could return her embrace and walks away. It was the last snow day that winter.
    • So later, the breakup is told from Cavert’s point of view (already spoiled on this thread) and it’s revealed that when Renee hugged him, she also told him to wait here for her. Cavert observes that there was more determination in her crying voice than sadness. With anger, hostility and misery. She tells him that she’ll be back for sure before leaving him. In addition, it seems that the imperial tyrants sent him a proposal of marriage to the princess as a reward for Iiknur. He already decided that he’s going to reject it after letting some time pass. That’s before Renee broke up with him.
    • Hours later, a carriage bearing the emblem of the imperial family comes to the temple of Elnur. Renee probably didn’t expect it because when she sees the carriage she wonders if they’re spying on her now. Thinking calmly, she approaches the carriage and the door opens. The shameless crown prince steps out and greets her with a smile. Renee says good morning when she really wanted to say bad morning but held her tongue. She bows her head and the CP reaches out to her and takes her hand. He escorts her into the carriage. Looking at the white gloved hand, Renee is reminded of the white gloved hand she saw hours ago that she couldn’t take.
    • Renee is told that she’s going to the Lucille Institute right now. There’s some artifact at the lab that she has to do something with and she notes that the artifact belongs to La Debus, Cavert’s duchy. The more she thinks about it, the more bitter she feels. Renee asks the prince why he’s taking her to the lab personally and she’s sure he isn’t that free. The shameless guy replies that she’s worth his time. Renee manages to contain her anger but sarcasm eventually popped out of her mouth. The CP smiles casually and accepts it. He then tells Renee that she won’t stay in the imperial city but in Gloria. This is arranged by Mahala. The CP says the chief of Gloria seems very interested in her gift.
    • Renee thinks that Mahala was indeed outwardly loyal to the imperial city. She even watched the fall of Lily. So the imperial family thinks Mahala is completely on their side and respects her in the first place. Renee sighs in relief inside. When she gets to Lucille Institute, Mahala, whom the CP didn’t expect to be there, greets Renee with, “you’re late”. The CP, still surprised, says in a low voice that the chief of Gloria really seems interested in her (Renee).
    • Duan instructs Renee to enter a room in order to take a test to determine the level of her divine force. Only Renee, Mahala and Duan are in the room. Duan asks Renee why does it look like she wants to cry. Mahala tells Renee that she thought she was doing a good job controlling her facial expression. Was it a mistake? Renee swallows a bitter smile and nods that it’s okay. Mahala asks Renee if she had her last conversation with the duke. Renee asks her what should she do from now on. Renee thinks she intends to make this the shortest breakup ever. (Mahala is probably there to take Renee out of the CP’s hands and that’s why her presence at the lab was unexpected by the CP)
    • Renee gets her room in the Gloria dormitory. People who met her in the Iiknur campaign welcomes her cheerfully. Lily also comes to see her. A week later the edict comes down from the imperial tyrants to grant her the title of saint. They will have a grand ceremony on founder’s day and the people are happy to have a saint after 30 years. For the first time ever, the saint will come out of Gloria. Normally the Holy Knights would be assigned to guard the saint but since the saint is from Gloria, the knights that escort her aren’t from the Holy Knights so Mahala and Renee have relative autonomy.
    • Mahala’s and Renee’s goal is to win the war against Belzata. If Renee is able to do this, her influence would be stronger than the imperial family because the empire’s long cherished desire is to subjugate Belzata. If subjugation isn’t possible, they will have to thoroughly win the war. The dispute between the two countries is the claim on Iiknur, the origin of the Bemtecan civilization. It’s anticipated that Belzata will start a war because Renee and the CP went back to the past and saw the Bemtecan civilization. Therefore, Renee has to make the biggest contribution to the war so that Belzata will show favor to her, instead of the empire.
    • Renee learns various techniques at Lucille Institute including flame magic and shields. Renee notices that it’s easier for her to use divine power after returning from Bemtecan and her divine power has also increased. Renee thinks that unfortunately the basis of her growth in mastering divine power was from her lessons with the CP. However, now she will learn flame and shield magic from Mahala and Niyan. While they’re discussing various ways to combine techniques in war, there’s a commotion heard outside.
    • Once again it’s the shameless CP (he somehow has it in his head that he can court a woman right after he and his family drove that woman to the cliff. Dude doesn’t even wait for some time to pass to lessen the blow). Renee greets him politely while trying to keep a straight face. It turns out that the shameless guy has been visiting her often in the past week to say hello and to sometimes take her on walks in the capital. Renee thinks that she doesn’t know what his actions mean but it was expected from the outset and the consequences of his action were predictable. Already there were rumors circulating in the capital that the saint and the head of Knights of Light were together. It was good gossip to talk about since the duke wasn’t seen anymore. Renee thinks the CP deliberately takes her to places where many people would see them and treats her kindly to enhance the rumors. Every time he does it, she gets caught up in an unpleasant mood but Mahala told her to hold it in for now. Mahala advised her to play along with the imperial family until Belzata.
    • The CP tells Renee that if her schedule is over for today, he would like to take her on a walk. Mahala tells him they’re working on magic together right now so he will have to wait. He happily replies that he doesn’t mind waiting. Renee thinks she and the CP are playing each other. Renee wonders what will be left at the end of this journey. Renee resolves that she doesn’t want anything left. (She’s talking about her acquaintance with the CP)
    • The National Foundation Day arrives. The emperor is praised a lot for his accomplishments and a saint is born. This means that two saints appeared in the current emperor’s reign. This saint has also seen the Bemtecan empire which the empire claims as its origin. Renee gets dressed for the ceremony in fancy layered clothes. It’s an international event so it’s a big deal. The emperor himself will hand over a royal edict to Renee stating that he bestows her with the title of Saint and she will have to accept it with respect.
    • Renee leaves early to go to the imperial city. Mahala accompanies her on the road but when she goes to the platform, she will be escorted by the empire’s hero, the CP. He is the leader of the Holy Knights and he went with her to Bemtecan so he is the natural companion to escort her at the event. Nevertheless, Renee can’t help but feel unpleasant emotions about this. Mahala accompanies Renee to dress and Renee feels grateful to her because it wasn’t really necessary for her to come to the dressing room. Renee thinks that Mahala might be thinking of the former saint, Cecelia. Renee tells Mahala that she’ll do well hoping to draw Mahala out of any melancholy thoughts about Cecilia. Mahala laughs and tells Renee that if Belzata found out that she and the CP saw Bemtecan, there will certainly be hostility against her so she should be careful.
    • The CP shows up to escort Renee. Renee especially notes that his clothes matches hers and if he did it intentionally. When the CP escorts her to the podium, everyone will be watching from below including the imperial family, Gloria and the Nikyll Knights. At that moment, Renee feels nauseous to think that Cavert will watch this. At the same time, she’s nervous and an urge to vomit sweeps through her so she stops for a moment.
    • Renee thinks she doesn’t know who’s watching her. She’s given in to the imperial city but the imperial family will still be looking at every single one of her actions. She had said before that she will be engaged to Cavert so they probably don’t believe she broke up with him. Renee keeps walking and thinking with bitterness in her mouth. The CP asks her if she’s nervous because she looks exceptionally pale. Renee says she’s okay.
    • When Renee and the CP go up to the podium, a thunderous applause breaks out to the point where Renee finds it deafening to her ears. The emperor comes up and speaks about the empire’s history. Renee starts to feel unwell. Her stomach starts to ache. It’s not just pain that she feels but a twisted bowel. She experiences sporadic blurring of the ongoing event. However, the strange pain died down at the end of the celebration so she decided to think of it as nothing.
    • Renee gets up to take the oath of the Holy Lady of the empire. She sees the crowd but her eyes meet Cavert’s eyes. She immediately feels emotional but quickly looks away in order to keep herself together. She thinks that perhaps because she saw Cavert, she wants to finish this moment quickly and go back to Gloria to rest. Just when she’s about to take the oath to Gloria, she starts to feel sick again. Her stomach feels sore and her intestines feel twisted. She manages to swear allegiance to the imperial family and immediately coughs up a lot of blood. The CP comes to help her and she sees Cavert stand up. Then she hears the servant who helped her declaring that the empire’s saint is a lie. The woman seems to be a Belzata fanatic. Hearing her, Cavert looks shocked, grimaced and immediately headed for her and knocks her down. The CP is holding Renee and she notes that the guy looks very pale. Mahala comes to attend to Renee. The blood is running out her mouth again when she tries to open it. Renee thinks it hurts like a curse then everything goes dark.
    • Renee wakes up and finds out that she’s been unconscious for two days. Mahala apologizes to her for not realizing the servant was strange. Mahala tells Renee that the poison could have killed her instantly and the healers barely managed to save her. Renee remembers that Mahala did warn her about Belzata but she always thought she was safe with the knights and Gloria. Renee gets goosebumps just thinking that she’s a target. Mahala said the poisoning undermined the empire and challenged the empire in front of international envoys.
    • Mahala brings Renee up to date on what happened after she fainted. Cavert apprehended the maid who poisoned her and prevented her from killing herself. The poison bag was also found on the apprehended maid. The issue is they don’t know if the maid was a Belzata spy who arbitrarily decided to take action on her own. In addition, the spy was working in the imperial city fortress and caused the saint to fall down vomiting blood at an event featuring the saint. That means that security at the imperial city is not properly established. (They’re probably too busy making enemies of their own citizens by carrying out their dirty deeds) As a result, the empire’s status was naturally reduced and the imperial family was outraged by it and has begun a massive investigation. Meanwhile, Mahala said the Nikyll Knights declared they will go to war against Belzata, courtesy of Tiraq’s outrage. Renee laughs when she hears that and also feels depressed because she cannot meet them.
    • Anyway, the war with Belzata will begin soon. The general commander will be the CP. It’s symbolic to put him forward because he’s seen Bemtecan. Renee insists that she wants to go to the war. She’s worked really hard in preparation. Mahala tells her it’s a burden for a sick person to go to war. Renee insists that she has to go. She has to take over Belzata relics. She has to be the one to subjugate Belzata. Nobody will dissuade her.
    • Renee decides to leave the imperial palace to go back to Gloria with Mahala. She doesn’t want to stay at the palace any longer. The CP shows up and offers to help her. It’s difficult for Renee to walk. When she reaches the outdoor hallway of the main palace, at a time when spring was approaching and the weather was peaceful, she suddenly turns her head when she hears several footsteps in front of her. It’s Cavert and the Nikyll Knights. Tiraq looked like he wanted to call out to her but he swallowed the words. Renee feels embarrassed and saddened by the moment as Cavert meets her eyes and silently passes her with Tiraq. The other Nikyll Knights also pass her silently. Renee thinks that completely contrary to the spring weather, cold and painful emotions fill her stomach. Not because of Cavert’s actions but because she couldn’t say anything. She was the one who told him first not to talk to her and to let them be complete strangers until things change.
    • In order to cover up Renee’s reaction, Mahala asks her if she can walk. Renee thinks the CP probably already knows why she stopped walking anyway. Renee tells Mahala, yes she can walk so let them go.

    • War preparations begin. The imperial people are outraged by the attempted murder of the saint in the name of Belzata. Belzata is not a country that the empire can readily defeat. It’s a mado country with lots of wizards. It also has an enormous military. The terrain is rough and it’s not easy to fight a war in their territory.
    • Renee is in Duan’s lab and insists on going to war. Duan points out that she won’t be able to handle the hills and terrain. She’s also still sick from the poison. Renee insists she will go. Duan understands it’s because Renee wants to regain her freedom so he tells her that he can’t wait for her to meet the duke again. He brings Renee up to speed on the duke’s activities by using the information that Tiraq mentions at home. Renee becomes more determined to go to this war after hearing about Cavert. Duan still tries to dissuade her by telling her that she’s become Belzata’s target and she shouldn’t go to the battlefield. She counters that they were able to poison her in the imperial city so where in the empire would she be safe.
    • Duan talks with Renee about a Belzata relic. Then he tells her that Cavert is building a temple of Elnur in his duchy. In fact, he says that Cavert has been spending a lot of time in the duchy. Renee looked like she wanted to cry so Duan immediately blurts out that she will be the head of Gloria after she returns from the war. Renee is shocked. How can she become the head of Gloria after only being there for a month? Mahala walks into the room and confirms it. She points out to Renee that now she can do blessings and shield in such a short time. Mahala said she built up Gloria and Renee will take the group in a new direction. They must gain their independence from the imperial city and become an organization who is loyal to the empire and not the crown.
    • Renee shots down every attempt to dissuade her from going to war so Mahala and Duan finally give up and instead concentrate on her recovery. With the blessings of Gloria and recuperation, her health improves considerably. As Duan had predicted, Jabez of Belzata had begun to target her. Jabez uses ancient magic and can summon ancient beasts.
    • It’s finally the day to leave for the war. The empire declared the war to recover it’s fallen prestige. It’s been less than a month from the day Renee was poisoned. During that time, Renee concentrated on learning blessings and shields. Explosive magic was also something she learned but she has yet to use it properly. The group will go to Iiknur first and then cross the border into Belzata.
    • Renee hears many rumors about Jabez and quite a few says he’s a crazy person and he’s powerful. Mahala warns Renee never to go near Jabez. The two sets of knights will confront Jabez instead. Renee agrees to Mahala’s request. Meanwhile, the group sets off. Both sets of elite knights are in the front so Renee feels uncomfortable at first because everybody has heard the rumors in the capital about her and the leader of the Holy Knights. And now Cavert is there so everybody gets to see that indeed she and Cavert are distant. Cavert politely greets her with a bow and the Nikyll Knights remain silent. Nevertheless, Renee feels suffocated by the atmosphere.
    • As soon as the group reaches the border via the gate, they were ambushed from the cliffs above by arrows and a small contingent of the Belzata army before them. Renee thinks they’re at a disadvantage because they’re carrying luggage and hadn’t even made base camp yet. Nevertheless, the elite knights, whom Gloria blessed before entering the mountain range, takes on the enemy soldiers and they’re falling helplessly. Some of the enemy soldiers shout, ‘kill the saint’, so the CP orders Renee’s escort knights to protect her.
    • Renee starts to protect herself by raising her own shield. The escort knights look at her with surprise. Her shield is not strong enough to withstand several consecutive attacks but if it breaks, she can immediately erect another shield. By this action, the knights in front of her can attack and kill the enemy who is rushing towards them. Mahala isn’t happy about this because it’s like a healer is playing the role of a tanker. Despite this, Renee does as she pleases, ignoring Mahala’s stance on the issue.
    • Soon Renee spread the shield over most of the allies. This makes the shield (green transparent membrane) weaker but she can immediately raise it again if it breaks. This is the result of training hard with Mahala for a month now. So she continues to create shields as the group clashes with the enemy. Renee is looking up most of the time to observe the shield so when she’s doing this an enemy soldier tries to attack her. Both leaders of the Nikyll and Holy Knights attack the soldier and kills him. Renee looks at Cavert unconsciously for a while but then realizes what’s she’s doing and then manages to turn her gaze to the CP.
    • The CP approaches her. He was also surprised when Renee first erected the shield. Now his eyes slightly soften with a frown. He tells her that she doesn’t have to step up front like this. Renee thinks it good to have the shield to prevent unnecessary deaths. The CP says he won’t deny that the shield makes it easier but she’s taking risks by stepping up to the front line.
    • The fighting stops and the group takes account of their situation. Naturally all eyes are focused on the CP. There arises a belief of the saying, ‘A Saint with a shield and a Knight who cares about her’. The CP is still talking to Renee about her action of creating the shield in the frontlines. Renee says that the enemy is after her so it doesn’t matter if he tries to kill her from behind or in front. While she says this, she grows cold because she doesn’t like the way the group is looking at her and the CP. Most of all, it’s very unpleasant to see the CP worried about her. She knows the concern is genuine. Even at this moment she knows he’s not treating her with a mask. After all, this is a battlefield. However, she’s sick and tired of all the situations that tells if he’s serious and act with motives. She ends the conversation with the CP by thanking him for his concern but she’ll take care of it. She bows to him and passes him.
    • The first priority of the group in this war was the safety of the saint. Consequently, the initial purpose of the operation was to establish a base camp in a safe area and protect the saint there. The empire’s goal and plan is not to expose the saint to any threat. However, the plan was turned on its head because the saint, who was supposed to be protected, approached the enemy, unfolded the shield and prevented all attacks to help the soldiers advance. Although the shield was not wide enough to protect all the troops, it was much easier to advance if even part of the group was protected. This resulted in a disruption in the enemy’s ranks and led to a quick victory for the troops.
    • Mahala was very unhappy with Renee’s actions but didn’t stop her because she has heard Renee’s firm will several times. As a result, the saint joined the war directly. Mahala lectures Renee that she shouldn’t get conceited. (I agree). She warns her that the enemy was caught off guard so it won’t work out like that a second time because now they know what she’s capable of. Nevertheless, Renee still kept advancing forward in the battles they fought.
    • In the meantime, over a week, the group won the next four battles by a landslide. Renee was also able to increase her attack power. As they won each battle, the base camp keeps advancing towards Belzata. Finally, they will try to secure a fortress. They don’t expect to conquer it in a day. Mahala tells Renee that this time, it’s more dangerous so she should only use the shield. Renee agrees. She feels that the battles so far felt too easy. The leaders of the knights also agree that the battles were too easy. After all, the empire was never able to conquer Belzata. In addition, Jabez definitely has a reputation of being a strong and powerful man so it was certain that something was amiss.
    • The group leaves for the fortress and unlike usual protocol, some healers come with them. Gloria also came with the group. While Renee spreads the shield, Gloria will focus on giving blessings to the soldiers. Blessings are the strengthening of the body and mind. The soldiers’ morale is high because of the battles they’ve won in a landslide so far so the leaders of the knights constantly urge them to calm down and to be on their guard. When they get to the fortress, they meet only a strange silence. The group is clearly spooked and their leaders calm them down. The only thing that could be seen on the fortress is the Belzata flag blowing in the wind.
    • Then there appears a single person standing relaxed and looking down on the troops. There was no fear in his eyes. He warns the group in a soft, elegant but overbearing voice that the great Javeth has shown them mercy for the last time. He holds a long red rod in his hands. Clearly a sorcerer, Mahala’s face harden at the sight of him. The CP sees him and his face stiffens. The sorcerer looks down on the CP and then slowly turns his gaze to Renee. The sorcerer tells the group that if they surrender here and give up the saint, he will spare the rest of their lives. Renee thinks the sorcerer’s eyes are glistening with madness.
    • No one answered the sorcerer’s proposal until Renee hears a roar. Tiraq curses and tell the sorcerer to stop his crap. With his sword raised, he tells the sorcerer to come down here and fight. Cavert looks at Tiraq with a slight frown but doesn’t disagree with him. Mahala starts laughing while looking at Tiraq. The CP looks embarrassed by Tiraq’s outburst for a moment but also pulls out his sword. He commands the soldiers to charge. The soldiers roar and charge forward.
    • Renee is embarrassed by the phrase, ‘I can never give up the saint’, but prepares to unfold the shield. The sorcerer says, as expected the people of the empire are foolish. The sorcerer hits his staff on the floor and it resonates through the area. A strong wind is heard though it wasn’t strong enough to push back the empire soldiers. After the dust clears, the group is surrounded by dozens of ancient beasts and Belzata soldiers. They were hidden by fantasy magic that even Mahala hadn’t realized. It was a trap.
    • Right away, the morale of the empire troops drops. The CP, as the commander, orders the troops to get into a defensive formation. Renee tries to raise the wide area shield but is unsuccessful and it was too late for Gloria to come together to implement it. The whole place turns into mayhem. The CP spreads golden energy around to slow the approach of the beasts and then they hit the ground. Tiraq, who has a debilitating fear of the beasts, is heard screaming curses. lol Consequently, Cavert sends him to protect Gloria as he and the other Nikyll Knights lead the attack on the beasts.
    • Mahala goes to support the troops with magic so Renee talks with Tiraq to discuss the weakness of the beasts. Tiraq says that the beasts are weak to divine power. If they are faced with strong light, they will be incapacitated for a short while. The cloudy day was also helping the beasts because the sun is blocked. Meanwhile, Renee is watching as Cavert runs very light and fast among the beasts as he kills them. She remembers seeing him like that in a search in Iiknur. She shakes off the memory and makes up her mind. Tiraq asks her what is she doing. She reminds him of what he said earlier to the sorcerer. She intends to take action.
    • Renee looks around and sees that there are still many small beasts to take care of. Everybody is doing their part but there are more wounded soldiers on their side than the enemy’s. She wonders if Mahala will dislike her coming forward like this. However, she steps forward and her escort knights block her. There are crazed Belzata soldiers trying to kill her and half of her escort knights are struggling with the Belzata soldiers. Still, so many of the group’s soldiers are getting hurt so Renee concentrates on bringing out her sacred light to delay the ancient beasts and heal the soldiers.
    • Renee succeeds in spreading her divine power and it heals the injured soldiers so that they can get up and fight. Then she creates shields. This gives the group the opportunity to go from defense to offense. Mahala sighs and tells Renee that she doesn’t know what to do with her stubbornness because Mahala had already warned her not to stand out. Nevertheless, Mahala now prepares a wide area magic. She couldn’t do this before because the empire troops were mixed in with the enemy. The CP commands the soldiers to charge. Mahala’s magic is pouring down from the sky and attacks the enemy and the beasts. The battle then turned in favor of the empire in an instant.
    • However, suddenly dark clouds start to gather and chilly winds sweep through the battlefield. A man with black fluttering hair and black tattoos appears on the fortress. His raw yellow eyes stare directly at Renee. Renee gets the feeling of a predator and its prey. The Belzata soldiers kneel down upon his sudden appearance. The Belzata soldiers identify him by greeting him as lord. Renee has goosebumps as he continues to stare at her. Mahala tells Renee to avoid him and pushes her aside. She just barely avoided his black magic attack. Jabez still turns to Renee and points at her while declaring that she has a strong ability. He sends black magic her way again and it passes her shield and enters her body. Her hair and uniform become black as if covered in black water. Yet strangely, it wasn’t damp or anything. The black energy quickly diminish and lastly gathers on her wrist. Jabez tells Renee he will see her next time
    • Belzata soldiers retreat immediately and Cavert is heard saying, ‘What the hell’. It’s like Belzata’s purpose was something else because they give up the fortress so easily. Mahala thinks that Jabez might have cursed Renee. She needs to find out more in detail. The two knight leaders stand around Renee in surprise. The other knights also look at her and wonder what happened. The CP sighs and says they need to set up the base camp. Cavert looks at her stiffly and then turns away to return to the Nikyll Knights. She watches his back until Mahala asks her if she’s okay.
    • Renee wonders what exactly did Jabez do to her. She feels that this was the purpose why he came here today because he left immediately afterwards. She’s not in pain so it must be something else. She tries her shields and they aren’t working well. The group starts walking to get ready to set up the base camp. Renee is still trying to sort through what happened, however, she feels the eyes of all the knights on her. She can feel Cavert’s anxious eyes as well but she couldn’t bring herself to say it’s okay in the middle of that gaze. Renee sighs as she fiddles with her hands and suddenly realizes that she has no divine power.
    • The base camp was set up in the fortress after a thorough search. The air is gloomy because it is said that the saint was cursed. Renee feels embarrassed by all the concern but is worried about her condition. Mahala encourages Renee not to dwell on the moment that Jabez cursed her but Renee cannot easily forget it. He broke through her shields as though they were meaningless. All the confidence she had built up over the past few days was rendered vain. The aftereffects of fear, futility and helplessness bothered her more than she thought. She was also worried about the future.
    • A meeting is held in the conference room with the two leaders, Mahala, Renee, others and Duan. Mahala relays what happened to Duan but he’s quiet for a long time. The CP starts to press him to say anything and Renee thinks that’s the first time that she’s ever seen the CP press anyone and she must be in a really bad condition to actually appreciate his pressure. Duan cuts off communication for a while and returns in an hour with new information. He said that their concept of magic is different from Jabez’s power. His power is closer to that of a sorcerer and is amplified by mana stones. His sorcery is also based in religion and in a nutshell, his power directly opposes divine power.
    • Duan also believes that Jabez has the power of an ancient relic name Obet. The CP and others points out that if he has that power, why hasn’t he tried to take over the continent. Duan believes it’s because he hasn’t completely made the relic his own. He also points out that Jabez is strong in magic and his power is directly opposite to divine power and therefore he can suppress it. This creates silence in the room because Renee’s divine power is the most in the empire. If Jabez can neutralize Renee, then that’s a big threat. Duan also points out that now there is also the problem of Renee’s poison. She’s still suffering the aftereffects. She was self healing with divine power but now that her divine power may be blocked, that presents a problem.
    • The CP takes note of this. Duan adds that there’s also the possibility that the curse is actually depleting Renee’s vitality and therefore her life. Cavert hits the desk and asks Duan if Jabez can actually cast such a curse. Duan says yes. Divine force restores the lives of others but Jabez’s tremendous power does the opposite. There are also accounts of his deeds in wars he’s fought. It’s therefore decided that the healers will heal Renee everyday. Renee thinks that besides the curse, the poison incident is back on her ankles. She thinks most of it is gone now but she needs to be completely free of it. Mahala sends Renee to Gloria to get treated immediately.
    • Lily quietly treats Renee and at the end of it begins to cry. Renee soothes her and then leaves. Outside, she’s walking with the escort knights and is lost in thoughts about Jabez and his appearance that looks like a predator. Renee is also reflecting on her actions. Suddenly, just before her, someone is standing in front of her blocking her way. It’s Cavert who calls, “Renee”. Renee thinks Cavert looks paler than usual. She thinks it’s because of her. Cavert asks her where does it hurt. Renee tells him that she already told him not to talk to her. Cavert doesn’t say anything. Renee thinks her firm words shut him up but at the end of the day, his purple gaze was still fixed on her. He continued to like her while steering clear of her. That gaze. That gaze that worries her. She’s been pretending not to know until now. At this moment, all reason has collapsed. She knows he likes her.
    • Renee starts to feel emotional. Emotions that had been forced down and blocked were breaking down her wall. Her stomach is aching and her eyes are burning in a flash. She is all too aware of her current state. It’s unfair that Jabez is after her and cursed her. She doesn’t know what she’s done wrong. She was also poisoned and became a target of hostility. She knows why but she doesn’t want to understand this situation. She was threatened into becoming a saint, eventually became a saint and was poisoned. Now she’s on the battlefield and she’s told to die everywhere. But the saddest thing about this situation is [hurting Cavert].
    • Renee asks herself, “why?” He’s the one she wants to be comforted by and he’s the only one she wants to tell that she’s scared. It’s him, who’s right in front of her. Why should she tell him not to talk to her thinking that someone might see? Out loud she asks Cavert why is he doing this to her. Then she thinks why should she say this to him when it’s unfair that she went out to shorten the breakup time somehow. Renee hears her escorts begin to walk again and tells Cavert not to run to her like that again and don’t get involved with her work. Cavert doesn’t say anything and she says she and him are nothing now. Renee thinks her words are like poking her guts with a sharp knife. Just then an escort knight tells her that Mahala is looking for her so she walks away from Cavert. She thinks of that night as a hopeless night.
    • The mission was revised to find Obet and destroy it or threaten Belzata with it. Obet is an ancient relic of Belzata. The place where it resides is the second holiest site for Belzata. Therefore, a search party was sent out.
    • Renee is confined to the fortress. She stays in the Gloria section and the healers heal her and she also benefits from blessing. Renee feels uncomfortable about the healers using all that divine power on her because during a war, sacred power is used wisely to heal the injured. In that situation, Renee stares blankly out of the window. The memories of the night before consume her mind. She was deluged with thoughts of Jabez, her anxiety over her condition and regret for saying hurtful things to Cavert.
    • However, judging rationally, she thought her action was right. Considering what the imperial family did to her in two days when she turned down their offer, she had to make sure that Cavert didn’t get any other damage. After all, the imperial family who tried to kill him using his brother, had to stop him from doing anything more. Nevertheless, she’s barely swallowing her emotional hysterics. In order to calm down, she reminds herself of what Mahala told her before. Emotions cannot solve the current situation.
    • Renee sees through the window that the search party has returned. She sees Mahala walking with the CP. Renee feels that she can’t stay still any longer so she’ll go hear how it went. She goes outside and there’s a disturbance in the barracks. Soldiers who are unpacking are talking with serious faces about the leader of the Nikyll Knights. She hears them say that the leader of the Nikyll Knights was injured by a black magic trap. Renee asks them if the leader was injured. When they confirm it, Renee’s face turns white and she doesn’t stick around to listen to more and runs like crazy towards the returning party. Even as she runs she hears all the other knights talking amongst themselves about the leader of the Nikyll Knights. She hears curse, injury, blood and healing. All of those words are flowing through her head sharply.
    • As Renee runs, she thinks about the hurtful things she said to him last night. He, who had come to her out of his concern was treated like that by her. She thinks that he’s done everything that she told him to do. He didn’t go to the temple to see her anymore. He didn’t come to the tower of Gloria to see her. He didn’t contact her at all. Yet, she said those things to him last night.

    • Everyone returning sees her running. Mahala, Lily, the CP, the knights, the priests..they all look at her with surprise but the only one in her eyes is Cavert. In the end, she breaks down in tears...it was a really sad burst of tears. Sobs block her words and endless tears block her view. She wipes her tears with both hands eventually and buries her face in her hands.
    • Regarding Cavert, the translation is kind of confusing. He’s either being treated or is already treated. However, Renee feels a sense of relief when she sees him and then starts to cry again in relief. Renee realizes that her breakdown also stems from the fact that she regretted hurting Cavert the night before and she resented the situation that made her respond to him in that way. All along she’s been pretending to be calm when in fact she’s scared and the reality that she couldn’t go to Cavert in the situation made her cry. Even at this moment, Cavert can’t approach her and can’t say anything of concern. He can only look at her from a few steps away. So she ended up sobbing. Tiraq, in Cavert’s place, asks her why is she crying and she couldn’t say anything. Mahala finally steps in, puts her hand on Renee’s shoulder and tells her to come back. Renee leaves with her.
    • Later Renee finds out how Cavert got injured. Belzata tried to keep them in the fortress by placing a curse outside. Mahala determined that the curse could be broken if they apply more force than is contained in the spell. Cavert immediately starts to hit the black fog. He does break the curse after a few strikes and then a backlash is setup for the person who breaks the curse. Cavert throws Tariq out of the way, cuts most of the backlash but was injured by a small piece of it. The wound wasn’t that deep and it was almost healed by treatment. However, the soldiers talked about it everywhere and that’s how Renee eventually heard about it too.
    • After hearing the story, Renee feels emotions stronger than embarrassment because she still had the protective bracelet that she had received from Carver. She thinks that if he had the bracelet, he wouldn’t have suffered the wound. She’s not wearing it and she’s not giving it back to him. Yet, she knows that if she gives it back to him, it will really be over between them.
    • With such a disturbed mind, Renee couldn’t sleep even though it’s late at night. She decides to go outside for a walk with her escorts which are fewer in the night time. She meets the CP. They’re silent for a moment when they meet before the CP asks her if she can’t sleep. He hints to the escorts to step aside and begins to walk next to her. Renee walks with her mouth shut because she didn’t know what to say to the CP or more precisely, because she didn’t want to talk to him. As the CP walks next to her, Renee gets angry at his behavior and then she feels resentment. All kinds of raw emotions poke her and she can barely breathe through the confusion.
    • The CP tells Renee that her eyes are still red. Renee thinks he looks genuinely worried about her. Renee seems irritated by his company. She doesn’t like the situation and she’s tired. Renee observes that the CP’s face looks stiff and embarrassed by her reaction. She swallowed several short breaths and slowly replies that she hasn’t slept well lately. The CP can tell her her sleeping habit and she realizes that the escort knights reports her condition to him. Renee finds herself brooding endlessly over that point. Renee tells him that she’s not doing her part by his means and so he’s worried about it.
    • Renee also states that when he was in the capital, he didn’t care about what she went through. Then he kept coming to her as a means of reaching the highest position. She thinks all the actions he showed of acting overly attentive to her at the Iiknur celebration ball and the time he spent visiting her after she joined Gloria created such strange rumors in the capital. The imperial people must have found the meeting between the saint and leader of the knights of light interesting and talked endlessly about it.
    • Renee thinks she didn’t want to have this conversation with him right now because it’s emotionally draining. Nevertheless, seeing him genuinely worried about her made her feel cold. She asks him how long does she have to be swayed by his whims. She thinks that he must have been involved in all the situation in which the high priest was arrested, Lily failed in Gloria and Cavert was treated unfairly by the imperial family. He would have sat on the sidelines (oh my, she knows him so well) and agreed to the situation even if he had not given such direction directly. She thinks, but he treats her like that. (look of worry)
    • Renee thinks that his face right now looks stiff and at a loss for what to say. She thinks she wants to see no worries, no embarrassment, no sadness and even no guilt on his face because they’re feelings that she doesn’t want to see altogether. (I think she doesn’t want to feel any sympathy towards him) She tells the CP that she did as he suggested. She came out of Elnur and became a saint. Along with him, it became a justification for imperial history and continue to be with the knight of light as the imperial family wanted. What else does he want from her? In her thoughts she wonders why he looked pale when Jabez cursed her and why does he look embarrassed now. Is that how he feels when the mask is broken?
    • Renee harden her expression when the CP again remain at a loss for words. Although he looks confused, she asks him what can she do for him. The CP has a puzzled look on his face. He turns his head away. Renee feels her own weariness. In the end, she tells him that he knows the answer and walks away from him.
    • The CP. The Hero, the light of the empire, the hope, the one who protects the empire with brilliant light. There was myriad of praise for him. From the early age of six, he came into the spotlight and attracted the emperor’s attention. He has always been in a position of being praised and supported since childhood. With his divine power, he was able to bridge the discord between the state religious group, Abner, and the emperor. He was raised in the church and became the leader of the Holy Knights. His presence brought great harmony between the imperial family and Abner. And the two powers that kept each other in check joined hands and their wealth and power soared. There was no need to curry favor with the aristocracy because the united power of the imperial family and Abner would never collapse. The completion of that power would be accomplished with this CP.
    • He learned to use those who approached him and they used him for his power. It was a mutual benefit. It was so natural to him that no one blamed him. The power of the imperial family grew stronger and stronger. He was wary of Cavert Williard whom he thought would interfere with the maintenance of their power and knew what they had done to the Williard family but he really didn’t care. His path was always right and people supported him as an empire hero. A devoted hero who protects the empire. A man of light who truly cares for others. He would always feel warped by the praise. Of course there was no guilt in it.
    • The CP thought that people don’t have full sincerity in dealing with people. That was the environment in which he grew up. It’s the acquired values of survival. His conversations with nobles were full of hidden intentions on both sides. This is why he felt flustered when he met Renee and she spoke openly about one’s intentions. He didn’t know how to react at first. He thought she was really amazing.
    • The CP is very caught up in Renee’s statement about “means to an end”. He thinks he’s never used anyone as an end but a means. He doesn’t mind thinking that instead of using them as an end, he uses them as a means because he also doesn’t want to be anyone’s end/purpose. However, he’s bothered that Renee regards his actions as a means in their relationship.
    • After Renee performed the Vuos miracle, the CP realized her value. An extraordinary increase in divine power that is hard to understand is an extraordinary ability. She didn’t have a strong enough voice to achieve a great cause but her naivety will make the way forward easier. So, he kept Renee close to him according to her value. It was obvious what her smile and goodwill wanted (remember she was crushing on him) so he tried to take advantage of it.
    • Whatever his feelings were, the CP knew his father’s expectations were hanging on him. He also thought that this way was the right way. So Renee Elnur is his... Then he came to the imperial city and found out about the appearance of Renee in the history books related to Bemtecan. And basically, the imperial family and Abner conspired together to bring her out of Elnur because they didn’t want the rise of a cult if a saint came out of Elnur. The proposal was sent via the CP as ordered by the emperor. Renee will become the key clue to the Iiknurist rebellion, a person in ancient Bemtecan history and justification for imperial history.
(So basically they were plotting out her life since early on without her knowledge. (Shudders) Remember the proposal came right after the Vuos ball when Renee was at Cavert’s house and they had their first argument. )
    • A saint who doesn’t even know it. The saint, of course, has to be next to the emperor (him) and not the duke. He took Cavert for granted. Renee Elnur had a crush on him (CP) and showed signs of fear for Cavert Williard so he thought he could dig into the gap. He thought it was a means. So he asked her to cheat. At his sister’s birthday party, as expected, Renee was escorted by Cavert Williard. He didn’t think Renee’s feelings had changed so he was naturally in a pleasant mood getting along with her. However, he saw when she whispered to Cavert and Cavert bent closer to hear her, her cheeks and ears were burning red. At first he thought it’s something that can be overlooked. Then he decided no, it’s not. Why was she in such a hurry to cover up the feelings she felt at that moment? He’s bothered by it but tells himself that he just feels bad that the road will become more complicated for her because she seems to have good feelings for Cavert. He questions himself about why does he feel bad about it but then denies it.
    • He stayed away from her for a while and then he met her and she asked about divine power lessons. He agreed to teach her. He knew her value will be revealed in the Iiknur campaign (he read the history book). Then after the campaign, she will enter Gloria and become a saint. He thought it wouldn’t be bad if he could teach her how to use her divine power and build a close relationship until just before she becomes a saint. He thinks that conclusion was reasonable. But why? Why is Renesha so fond of Cavert Williard?
    • The CP always followed reason. To him Renesha’s actions were extremely irrational and unreasonable when they went back to the Bemtecan era and they kept arguing about whether to heal people with divine power or not. After the Iiknur campaign, and everything went as Abner and the imperial family expected, the emperor ordered that Renesha be removed from Elnur and be sworn in with the CP at the foundation day ceremony. The CP asked that they give her time to decide. Mahala also dissuaded the threat since she wanted Renee to join Gloria under positive terms and that she will get the answer she wanted.
    • The emperor wasn’t pleased with the delay but the CP still wanted to give Renesha time. In addition, he was still hung up on the experience in Bemtecan. He wasn’t sure if those were his real feelings or not. So while procrastinating, the emperor sent the princess instead to threaten Renesha. Then she visited him and told him he complicated the situation because now Renesha is even wearing the duke’s engagement bracelet. The princess tells him she didn’t realize he cared about the priest to the point that he’s going this far to protect her (it was still useless because all he was doing is delaying the end which ultimately came).
    • He can’t deny that things got complicated. He saw Renesha wearing the bracelet. In Bemtecan, he saw her holding the bracelet with a gloomy face on a rainy day and she shed tears. She also ran to Cavert Williard when she returned from Bemtecan and hugged him. He thinks a lot of things got complicated as he slowed down. His sister tells him he’s in love but he keeps rejecting the idea and says no, she’s a means.
    • At the Iiknur Celebration, he says his motive for treating Renesha nice was to delay her rejection. His family believed that she would accept the offer but he knew better. He thinks that her answer may already be set but he wanted to slow it down as much as possible. Renesha refused and announced that she will get engaged to Cavert Williard. The emperor was furious and then their threats were put into effect. Apparently the emperor is the one who decided to use the marriage threat against Cavert and the princess was embarrassed.
    • The CP was confused in the situation but it was time to face reality. He looked at the situation rationally and objectively. Renesha will be a saint and she will be beside the emperor. (Opportunist) So he had to spend a lot of time with her from now on to make the rumors in the capital a reality.
    • The CP felt guilt for the first time in his life when he saw Renesha’s sad face after she accepted the offer at Lucia’s palace. Guilt is a feeling he could not explain rationally and even if he could, he was afraid to reflect on it. However, he wanted to focus on the conclusion. Renesha would become a saint. She came out of Elnur and entered Gloria. So he visited her regularly, took her on walks or stop by the boutique in the square. He had the funny idea that time will fix everything. But he had to face it. Renesha no longer smiled clearly nor was there a pleasant feeling when she looked up at him. She was acting. The contrived laughter was all too familiar. He felt guilty that the laugh was contrived. He tried to ignore this and convinced himself that if they share the same path, she will certainly benefit. She’s an affectionate person who will still think of Elnur after leaving and feel sorry about the series of events (threats). Therefore, he concluded that if she leads the war against Belzata to victory, Abner will no longer be able to easily press her. Then she can apply again to Elnur as she wanted. Abner would not like it but he would make it happen. Afterwards, the benefits that she could have if she really joined the emperor’s side will increase. She could have power, wealth, everything, as well as enormous influence. A strong power that no one else will ever see will fall into her hands.
    • He doesn’t know if that’s what she really wants or if she wants an apology. He thought this was right. At the end of the road, he thought she would be satisfied because the light will shine on her. But in the end, he had to admit it. Cavert Williard was injured during the search and he saw it. Renesha turned white, perhaps after hearing the news. Even though she had been careful about her actions, as soon as she heard he was hurt, she ran frantically from the fortress and burst into tears before Cavert Williard. Sobbing silently, wiping away endless tears in her hands and crying bitterly.
    • He felt his whole body stiffen as he saw it. It was hard to breathe for a second. He was caught up in a very terrible emotion. It was a sense of guilt. Yes, guilt. Renesha, who sometimes smiled no matter how hard the war was, was crying so sadly now. Still unable to reach Cavert Williard, she cried in despair at the situation. He was very far from the word regret because he was always right and that was the way the light shone. However, for the first time, he regretted it. He went beyond regretting it and suffered from guilt.
    • Looking at her red eyes, he felt like he was suffocating. He believed his path was right but he even made shallow rationalizations that even if he used her as a means, he could still bring her much at the end of it. Renesha’s eyes were cold as she looked straight at him. Looking at the grudging gaze, he found it difficult to breathe again. Regret and guilt weighed down upon him heavily and an unknown sadness encroached on him.

    • It’s been three days since Renee was cursed. She thought the curse would disappear on its own over time but it was a vain hope. The curse not only prevented the manifestation of her divine power but also prevented her body from accepting it as well. In other words, a strong shield pressed against her divine power and blocked it from healing her. It didn’t block everything but the effect fell by half. Therefore, the bottom line is, she began to get worse day by day. Her body easily became tired and it became increasingly difficult for her to open her eyes in the morning.
    • The group’s mission is to find the Obet, a relic of Belzata. Duan believes that something must have occurred in Belzata when Renee and the CP returned from Bemtecan. It was reported that around the same time they returned, Belzata commanded their people living in a basin in the mountain to move out. The leaders agree it’s plausible that something did happen. The group decides to leave the fortress as soon as possible.
    • Renee feels that she’s become a burden. Her knights escort has increased and her physical energy is terrible. Not to mention, she’s still sick. The terrain that they have cross is not only rough but rife with steep cliffs. In their trek, there’s a worn out bridge to cross and only five people at the most can cross it at the same time. The bridge isn’t long but it looks dangerous because some of the tiles are missing and it looks dilapidated. The drop descends into a canyon and the sound of a waterfall could be heard below. Renee and her escorts are the last to cross the bridge. At that moment, Belzata soldiers who were hiding in the bushes launch an attack. The knights urge Renee to continue over the bridge as they run back to fight the enemy soldiers. Renee almost reaches the end and she only has to make a long stride over missing tiles in order to set foot on solid ground. Cavert reaches out his hand to her to help her to safety. However, just as she’s about to take his hand, an arrow from behind breaks the bridge railing. Renee falls with the bridge but Cavert jumps down the cliff and grabs her while protecting her head as they fall. Renee thinks that she’ll really die in vain like this as her vision goes black.
    • Renee wakes up and can’t believe she’s alive. She looks around right away. Her neck is a little stiff, which is negligible. The only thing she’s looking for right now is one person. The moment the bridge broke and she fell down the cliff, she remembered the shock in the purple eyes. And immediately after, he fell and embraced her in shock. He hugged her so tightly to calm her down. She remembers everything clearly.
    • Only when she got up she realized she was in a cave. At the entrance, she finds Cavert. She wants to check his condition They ask each other about their respective condition. Renee wonders how can she express how she feels. The joy of being alive. The relief. No, maybe a ridiculous rebuke. She breaks down crying when she yells at Cavert who was asking her if she feels sick. She asks him why did he do that. What if he had gotten hurt when he jumped off the cliff like that? He could have really died. How could he just blindly fall? She couldn’t speak properly through her tears. She wonders if she really wanted to be mad at him right now. Yes, she doesn’t want to blame him now. The situation of jumping along with her was devastating but at the end of it, they are both alive now.
    • Cavert’s left arm is seriously injured. His cape was torn to stop the bleeding but there is quite a lot of blood. He said it was okay when he saw her looking at it but it didn’t look okay to her at all. Renee is mostly upset that she couldn’t heal him right now. She couldn’t use her divine power. She can’t cure him and it won’t do him any good in the situation. Renee realizes that in his injured state, Cavert had collected branches to pile on the floor and tears start to fall from her eyes again. Her sense of helplessness bothers her. Cavert tells her it was a situation that could have really killed her. Renee agrees and asks him so why did he jump. Cavert responds, how is he supposed to watch her die. He repeats in a voice trembling slightly, saying, how can he... There was anxiety ingrained in his words. Finally, he uttered with a heavy sigh, speaking decisively as if he was in agony just thinking about, “I thought it was okay if I died. I thought I’d rather die than see your death.”
    • Renee couldn’t say anything. She looked up at Cavert while brooding over the meaning of what he had just said and eventually buried her face in her hand. Cavert slowly embraced her. She felt miserable that the arm was only the right (uninjured) arm. Cavert tells her that he’s sorry. Renee asks him why is he apologizing. She tells him she was wrong. Renee reflects that Cavert saved her and as soon as she woke up she shouted at him for jumping off the cliff. Cavert comforts her and tells her he’s fine. He pats her on the shoulder and she thinks his movement is so careful. He only hugged her narrowly enough so that she can escape from his arm with slight movement. She notices that he still cares about what she had said about not approaching her. Feeling sad about it, she buries her head in his arms. His trembling hands wrap tightly around her.
    • After Renee calms down, Cavert get up to start a fire. He updated Renee on what happened and their current situation. When they fell, Cavert used his body as a shield to protect Renee from harm. They fell into the canyon and almost fell down the waterfall because of the strong current. Although, Cavert managed to avoid the situation, he was swept by the waves which knocked him into the rocks that were everywhere. Consequently, he suffered severe injuries to his left arm. In addition, the communication device he had was damaged but just before the light went out, he was able to relay the message that they’re alive. It was hard to know though if the message was delivered properly.
    • Cavert found the cave after looking around. He knew that in a situation like this, it was dangerous to face the Belzata army. So they needed to hide first and he found a small cave that was big enough for two people to hide. Night soon fell and the temperature in cave grew slightly damp and chilly. In front of the bonfire, Renee and Cavert talk while sitting against the cave wall but not close together.
    • The two decide they will leave at first light the next day. They had to meet any search team that was sent out to look for them or rejoin their party as soon as possible. They also feared running into the Belzata army. Cavert knew the direction to their destination so they would head that way while trying to avoid the enemy. Cavert was already hurt so Renee didn’t want them to run into a situation where he risk injury when he’s already hurt and she couldn’t use her divine power. Cavert was also worried about the aftereffects of Renee’s poisoning. Still, he promised Renee that he won’t let her get hurt no matter the circumstance.
    • Renee hesitate to bring it up several times but finally she tells Cavert that she has the bracelet. Cavert trembled slightly when he saw the bracelet. Renee tells him that he said it has protective magic and that every time he left the country he wore it. She tells him that she thinks he needs it now. He’s injured now and they don’t know when they’ll run into the Belzata army. Cavert refuses to take the bracelet. Renee knows what he’s thinking as he looks down at her but she doesn’t want to see him physically hurt. Objectively speaking, he’s injured right now and they don’t know what will happen if they encounter the enemy. She knows he’s strong but he will have to fight while protecting her and that will make it harder for him.
    • Cavert finally tells her that she needs the bracelet more than him. He can only be relieved if the bracelet secures her safety. They argue back and forth until Renee gives up when Cavert turns pale. She thinks he’s fearful of her actions. Cavert finally begs her not to let the bracelet come back to him, please. Renee couldn’t say anything after hearing his plea. She couldn’t bring herself to do it. It was unfamiliar to her for Cavert to deny her words so firmly in a trembling voice. She’s never seen him so anxious. She wonders if he had actually felt relieved by the bracelet all this time. How many times did he appease his anxiety by the fact that she hadn’t returned the bracelet? It was his only connection to her after their bitter parting.
    • Renee calls out to Cavert in a shaky voice but Cavert takes the bracelet and puts it on her wrist. Renee thinks that Cavert is very considerate of her and always treats her with care but she always thought he was strong. She couldn’t read all the emotions that he hid behind his face that didn’t show easily but now he was showing that weakness. Renee feels sad about it and begins to cry. Cavert tenderly caresses her cheek. She raises her head and looks into his purple eyes that are full of deep emotion. Her heart aches, and swept away by that sadness, she kisses Cavert. Their lips touch naturally a couple of times and it soon leads to a deep kiss. Their tender breath mix together. His hand that was carefully caressing her cheek moves to the back of her head and she slides her arms around his neck and accepts his kiss. The kiss grows deeper as her head leans back slightly. Her tongue is tangled and their lips are moistened as their breaths grow shorter.
    • Cavert groan shallowly. The pain in his arm seems to have increased. It was a tiny groan but Renee heard it. Before, he kept saying that his condition was okay but in the end, the wound wasn’t okay. Although Cavert protests, Renee releases herself from his arms though not completely. She tells him no more until he’s healed. Cavert calls her name feeling clearly dissatisfied with what she said. Eventually he sighs softly and settles with wrapping his arm around her shoulders. With the sound of the firewood and the sound of the waterfall, Renee slowly close her eyes. The situation was desperate and ridiculous but it was the first calm that she feels since coming to Belzata.
    • Renee awakes at dawn the next morning feeling uncomfortable. The cave wasn’t a comfortable place to sleep. Moreover, she was overwhelmed by a heavy tiredness from not receiving treatment for a day. She wonders how can the aftereffects of poison last so long. Nevertheless, she was more worried about Cavert’s condition than her own. She tries several times to heal Cavert as he sleeps but nothing came out. She could feel the energy moving in her body but it felt like something was blocking it.
    • Renee gives up and goes outside the cave. The scenery is beautiful and untouched by human activity and it reminds her of the first scenery Cavert showed her in the Vuos mountain. Renee determines that she must find the village where Obet is located. She has to meet the group as soon as possible so that Cavert can be healed. Renee looks around for food. She feels like she’s participating in a series of survival on a cliff. She looks for fruits but all the trees she sees are unfamiliar. It’s either that she can eat the fruit she found and live or eat it and die. Cavert, who woke up and came to look for her, hears her and teases her with a straight face until she saw that he was holding in his laughter. He tells her not to worry. The fruit in her hand is edible. It’s high in sugar and it’s good for rejuvenation.
    • Renee insists that Cavert is a patient so she’ll pick the fruits. After some trouble, she picks some and looks at Cavert who is smiling and then laughing at her. She couldn’t help but think that he seems like a very happy man in the moment. She’s embarrassed for a moment. The emotion on his face is so clear that she can read it. He’s looking at her like she’s cute. Her heart thumps and tickles her entire body. He helps her down from the tree and she turns her head away, grumbling. Why was he laughing at her distress? He soothes her and tells her it wasn’t that bad. He touches the bracelet on her wrist several times and she couldn’t help but be pleased that she was still wearing the bracelet. Looking at Cavert smiling for the first time since coming to Belzata, made her happy.
    • Renee feels it’s been a long time since she’s been with Cavert. She feels really good. The moment when she talks with him comfortably and the moments when they laugh together without being watched by anyone made her truly happy. However, it wasn’t a good situation to just enjoy the time between them. It would take them about four days to get to their destination. It would be great if they can meet a search party but they thought it unlikely. On their way, after a day or so, they hear a sound. When they quietly and carefully climb the hill, they see Jabez some distance away. There are soldiers kneeling before him as he demands answers from them regarding the saint. They report that the saint fell into the canyon with a knight. Jabez is highly displeased. He tells the soldier that he told him not to kill the saint. He needs her alive because he needs the blood of a person who has seen Bemtecan in order to complete the ritual so that the Obet can be completely his. He kills the soldier and summons an ancient beast that specializes in eating humans. This beast eat the other soldiers.
    • The sorcerer who appeared at the fortress approaches Jabez and tells him that he will find the saint. They’re not sure if she’s dead so he’ll find her. Jabez accepts his service and leaves. Renee feels anxious and scared. Jabez just displayed an incredible power before her eyes. He had grabbed the soldier by the neck and took his life away until he became a skeleton corpse. Renee also thinks about the necklace that Jabez wore. It had a blue jewel that seems familiar. It looked like his skin was also rotting around the necklace. She comes back to her senses when she feels Cavert tightly gripping her hand. She groans and he apologizes. In his eyes, she sees clear anger, hostility and anxiety. So much so that it makes her scared. Cavert reaffirms to her that he will not let her get hurt.
    • The next day, Cavert and Renee discuss Jabez as they walk. They feel that Jabez might have provoked the war with the poisoning to bring her into Belzata. His goal is related to the Obet and that would explain why his war against them has been so passive. The Obet is said to be made in the Bemtecan era and contain the blessings of Bemtecan. Belzata believes that their origin is Bemtecan and therefore the sanctuary of Iiknur should be theirs. So, if the Obet belongs to them, it will have the power of the true Bemtecan.
    • While discussing all this, Renee wonders why then isn’t Jabez after the CP. He also visited Bemtecan and is mentioned in the history books and is considered the light of the emperor and the hero. The situation was puzzling. Renee decides not to think about it right now because only Jabez knows the answer. Renee and Cavert continue their walk. After helping her cross a stream, Cavert warns her not to ever rush to Obet first. Renee wants to know if it’s Duan who told him about it and he admits it. Then Renee remembers that Duan said Cavert goes to his duchy a lot recently. She asks him what he’s planning and he tells her that she’ll find out the day she returns to him. Her heart flutters. She couldn’t press him anymore so she didn’t ask anymore. She thinks he’s so mean but her face grew very hot.
    • When it grows dark, they stop to camp. They hope to reach the base camp the next day. It is colder today than yesterday and Renee feels ominous. She thinks it might rain but Cavert disagrees. He tells her to come closer since it’s cold. She thinks that he looks the most comfortable and enjoyable right now since coming to Belzata. Laughing, she draws closer and sits next to him in front of the fire. He wraps his arms around her and she tells him small stories while watching the firewood burning. She thinks about the fact that when they arrive at the base camp they will have to look the other way.
    • Just when she thinks the moment is so peaceful, she feels Cavert’s arm tighten around her shoulders. He gets up right away and tells Renee to stay there. Renee watches his back as he touches the sword on his hip and starts walking into the dark forest. Suddenly, someone says, there’s the saint. The purple energy that flew into the darkness makes the enemy scream. Cavert grabs Renee’s hands and tells her there are a lot so they need to hide in a safer place. They run into the darkness. From the light the enemy carries, Renee guesses that there’s about fifty of them. She thinks there’s no way Cavert can take on that many people alone especially when his arm is injured. As they run, Cavert plunges his sword into the ground and a bunch of trees fall in a row, hindering the enemy. This action repeats but the enemy continue to pursue.
    • Unfortunately, the situation deteriorates when Renee starts to vomit blood, probably stemming from the exertion of constantly running. Cavert wants her to rest and he’ll confront the enemy but Renee thinks it would be daunting for him to take on all of them. They even have mana stones. When they emerge from the forest, there’s another problem. They’re on a cliff. Cavert turns to face the enemy. He gathers a tremendous wind and energy around his sword and flings it at the enemy, who fall down. Some of them are able to get up and an arrow grazes his already injured left arm. He gets into close combat with some of the soldiers and Renee sees a soldier from further away poised to shoot an arrow at Cavert. She screams for help and rushes forward to protect him. The bracelet vibrates and a blue shield is erected above her and Cavert as she holds him from behind. The shield also knocks back the soldiers he was fighting. His injury from the waterfall also slowly begins to heal. Renee is shocked that the bracelet can even treat wounds.
    • However, just when she was feeling relieved, a black energy smashes the shield and sends Cavert flying until he hits a nearby tree. The black energy holds him there. The sorcerer appears on the scene telling Renee to come with him and he’ll spare the knight. Renee hesitates as she looks at Cavert whom she thinks must be in pain. Despite that, Cavert breaks the black energy and attacks the sorcerer who also tried to counterattack him. Cavert destroys the sorcerer’s attack and pierces his sword into the sorcerer’s heart. When the sorcerer falls, he steps on the sorcerer’s chest and twists his sword truly crushing the sorcerer’s heart. Renee shudders as she watches him and thinks that Cavert probably had this intention since the time the sorcerer appeared at the fortress and demanded that they hand over the saint. Even if Cavert was in pain, she realized from the dangerous light in his eyes that he was determined to kill the sorcerer.
    • Now there’s about twenty soldiers left. Cavert is bleeding from his waterfall wound and Renee finds it hard to watch him fight that many people while injured. The soldiers shout that they just need to kill the knight and take the saint. Renee looks at the cliff but then she realizes that something is blocking the enemy soldiers. It’s a blue membrane and it’s shielding both her and Cavert. She recognizes it immediate as Mahala’s shield. She’s elated and relieved and then she sees Mahala and the CP at the frontline and gold energy spread through the dark. She also hears Tiraq’s voice. Feeling relaxed, Renee finally falls down. She knows that she’s unwell. She was vomiting blood just a short while ago. She’s only lasted this long because of her nerves. Before she could say anything to Cavert who embraces her, she loses consciousness.
    • Renee wakes up and hears the story of how Mahala and the team found them. When Cavert fell the trees by driving his sword into the ground, the group heard the commotion. They were already on alert at night to hear any unusual noise. They were therefore able to track down Renee and Cavert. Unfortunately, however, the base camp was attacked earlier that night by the Belzata army so the healers had to heal the wounded soldiers and Renee and Cavert was only able to receive barely adequate healing. It turns out that Cavert’s left arm was actually broken in the waterfalls. Renee couldn’t believe it when Mahala told her because all along Cavert was saying that he’s okay.
    • Earlier that night, when the base camp was attacked, Tiraq was tired of retreating and argued with the CP. Tiraq took Nikyll Knights and chased the Belzata army and they discovered the place where Jabez was located. Mahala and the Holy Knights had eventually followed the Nikyll Knights so they also saw Jabez’s location. Since roughly 30% of the soldiers were injured, they decided to withdraw back to the base camp and that’s when they heard the commotion of the trees falling in the forest and were able to find Renee and Cavert.
    • Renee tells Mahala that she saw Jabez and Mahala screamed. lol Renee explain the situation and tells her everything that she saw and heard with Cavert as they looked down at Jabez. Mahala learns that Jabez needs the blood of someone who’ve seen the Bemtecan era. She tells Renee that they found the building where the Obet is held thanks to a ritual Jabez performed recently. The Obet is said to be underground. Mahala urges Renee to lie down as she quickly slips away.
    • Renee doesn’t want to lie in bed anymore and wants to go ask Tiraq in more details about what happened and possibly to see Cavert’s condition with her own eyes. Truthfully, she admits to being more interested in the latter. Just as she is about to leave her barrack, someone tells her that she better not move yet. It’s the CP. Right away her face stiffens because of his, in her own words, unwelcome appearance. Barely keeping a straight face, she bows to him. She realizes he had already seen her displeasure and there’s a slightly bitter look on his face. He asks her to sit on the bed and she complies. He gives her an antidote for the poison. Lucille Institute and the imperial city worked together to make it since the day she was poisoned but they needed one more ingredient which he only recently found in Belzata.
    • The CP suggests that Renee go back to the empire. An escort will take her back safely. Renee asks him what does he mean by that. The CP says that imperial city has purged all Belzata spies from the empire so she will be safe there especially since Jabez is currently busy with the ritual and he won’t follow her. Suddenly, the CP bows his head. He says he had a lot of thoughts while she went missing. His voice sinks heavily showing the weight of his worries as he tells her that as the empire or the crown had hoped, she became a saint. He believed that light would be with her on the road but now she’s cursed by Jabez and she fell off a cliff. He says he thinks he was mistaken. Everyone said they would protect her but she continued to be threatened. And now Jabez is after her himself.
    • The CP raises his head and with a determined look in his eyes, he tells Renee that if she wasn’t here, Jabez would be after him as the alternative. He thinks it’s better that way. Renee admits in her thoughts that she’s already thought of this issue. However, she asks the CP why is he acting this way all of a sudden. The CP hesitates and Renee cuts him off. She thinks it’s not a change in behavior that she wants to understand. His offer to her now may have been kindness, goodwill or perhaps even sacrifice but there was too much that had already happened between them for her to be impressed or pleased by the proposal. Renee tells him she wants something. The CP says he knows what it is. Renee responds that it would be easier if he knows what it is. She tells him that she doesn’t need his help on the way to get what she wants or to get back what she wants. Renee notices that her firm words hardened his face. No, she thinks he looks a little pale and fed up. Feeling subtly subdued by the change she saw, she turns her face and thanks him for the antidote. She tells him other than that, she will take care of it.
    • The antidote begins to work but there is still the curse in Renee’s body which is sapping away her energy. Meanwhile, Mahala comes up with a plan based on some intelligence that they were able to get and they will put the plan into action. Renee insists that she will go too and Mahala couldn’t dissuade her. Mahala then asks her if she needs to take medicine. Renee wonders how Mahala figured out she’s really not in good condition. Mahala tells her that the leader of Nikyll Knights told her that Renee doesn’t look good and needs to be drugged. Renee steels herself to feel stronger. She can’t distract Mahala on this critical and dangerous mission. Renee knows there’s a lot at stake for both her and Mahala and she doesn’t want to lose.
    • The night raid was set. The only problem is it was certain that Jabez was up to something. Ominous black clouds covered the village where the Obet was located and it was clear that Jabez was performing a ceremony almost as if he knew they would come to him. Nevertheless, the group couldn’t change the timing of their plan so moved forward with it.
    • Since Cavert’s arm wasn’t fully heal, the Nikyll Knights won’t take the lead. If fighting occurred, they would come forward but the other knights will take the lead this time. Mahala blessed the CP after he issued the order to invade the village. The CP looks at Mahala to signal they’re ready. He then looks at Renee who is standing behind Mahala and she turns her head away. Mahala looks at the CP with a slightly strange look in her eyes but says nothing. White and yellow energy suddenly strongly strike the earth and the attack begins. Other ally soldiers attack from another side and then Renee sees purple energy in another direction. Renee is worried that Jabez might try to attack Cavert because he killed Jabez’s sorcerer.
    • The ally soldiers clears away the enemy soldiers in front of the building that supposedly houses the Obet. Something is strange though. The guards for the building are too few. However, the group consisting only of Mahala, Renee and several knights enter the dark building. They can’t use any light except the moonlight but Renee notes right away that the air feels damp. There’s also a black magic circle on the floor. The knights who search the second floor are suddenly heard screaming. Soon after the group realizes that ancient beasts are pouring out continuously on the second floor. A knight also finds out that the doors to escape the building are locked. With that many beasts in the building, it will eventually collapse. Renee wonders if this is what Jabez intended all along. He will mix the blood of the fallen for his sacrifice. Mahala uses magic to try to stop the outpouring of beasts. She also erects shields to protect the group. However, they have to get out or they will all die when the building collapses. She asks Renee to use the communicator to message those outside to open the doors. It’s then that they find out that those outside are getting attacked by the more dangerous beasts like the ones they fought in Iiknur. Renee hears someone shouting about the CP and then the communication abruptly stops.
    • Mahala decides to use amplification magic with flame magic. It will bore a hole in the wall of the building by creating an explosion. She orders Renee’s escort knights to take her away to protect her from the explosion. Renee has a gut feeling that Mahala is trying to sacrifice herself so she keeps asking her how is she going to escape the explosion. Mahala kind of make excuses to get Renee to take cover. Sure enough, the explosion rocks the entire building, even throwing flames outside. In the end, Mahala ends up buried under rubble which also kills the disgusting ancient beasts. Renee thinks that was her goal all along. Now she’s basically outdoors and the knights are trying to take her away to safety but Renee wants to find Mahala. She starts digging in the rubble. Cavert comes and she says Mahala is under the rubble and he starts to help her remove the rubble. He finally reaches Mahala who is indeed barely alive and crushed and he quickly goes to get a healer.
    • Mahala is hanging on but barely. Renee is crying and she tells Renee that she is not her loss. In other words, she shouldn’t blame herself. She’s being treated with divine power but it’s not very effective since she’s still coughing up blood. Renee also sees a shadow over her visage. Renee feels frustrated because she has so much divine power and can’t do anything although she’s trying.
    • Black rain starts to fall and Jabez shows up with the CP. He has the CP tied to a tree. He holds his spear to the CP’s neck. The CP’s hair is bloody and his clothes are dirty. Jabez tells Renee that he thought she was strong and yet she hasn’t broken the curse yet. Renee immediately realizes that means that Jabez never planned for her to come to him to remove the curse. Their interpretation of his motive was incorrect all along. He was really after the CP, who would be the next emperor. Jabez tells the CP that he heard his brothers are useless so he was his target all along. (I grudgingly admit his plan was clever) All the malice directed at the saint was smoke and mirrors to disarm the protection of the CP.
    • Meanwhile, Renee concentrates on Jabez’s declaration that he thought she would have lifted the curse already. She remembers Duan said that Jabez power is opposite to hers. So if her divine power is stronger than his sorcery, she should be able to lift the curse. At that moment, the CP releases white energy that cuts his rope and sets him free. He and Jabez starts to fight and Jabez knocks him down and stabs his spear in his leg. He tells the CP that he will be the first one to die with a little power from Obet. The CP is self healing his wound in the leg and Jabez pokes into the wound to spread the damage. Renee, frustrated with all of these situations, thinks of Mahala dying and the CP kneeling before Jabez. She starts to gather strength in her stomach. She thinks of all she’s learned from the CP, Niyan and Mahala and her divine power is released tremendously into the air, stopping Jabez from stabbing the CP in the heart.
    • Jabez is thrown back several meters and his troops are pushed back as well. The shield pushes out all that is unclean. Renee goes right away and heals Mahala. She tells Mahala to tell her later that she’s done a good job. Sacred white lights are falling from the sky, similar to the healing miracle she did in the Bemtecan era. Anybody who touches the light is healed. This is something that Mahala and Cecelia wished for. The ability to create a shield while simultaneously healing the wounded. The shield was eventually broken and the ancient beasts and enemy soldiers come in but Renee doesn’t care. She looks directly at Jabez, draws her energy and creates dozens of magic and sacred patterns in the sky which multiply instantly into hundreds . As her hair flutters strongly in the series of explosions, the whole area is colored with light and the view is bright. With a shocked face, the CP looks up at the sky and turns to meet Renee’s eyes. She smiles and asks him, “Did the light shine on you?”
    • Renee and Jabez face off. The fighting is interesting and leads back to the necklace that the priest from Bemtecan had given to her. That turns out to be the Obet. Renee defeats Jabez using the power of the Obet because the necklace acknowledges her as the true owner. Remember when she returned from Bemtecan, she thought she saw something like an illusion with the necklace melting into her body. Anyway, Jabez hands the necklace over to her and she heals his rotten skin where the Obet rot his skin. He tells her that she can have the continent with that power. Renee tells him sadly, the only thing she needs is him and his power. She’s going to use him [against the imperial tyrants].
    • In the battle aftermath, the night sky clears up. Renee hears her name whispered with tenderness and concern. Smiling, she turns to Cavert and then faints and he rushes to catch her. She’s never fought physically before so her body was numb. The next day she wakes at sunrise. Outside people are tidying up and healers are treating the wounded. The camp has a busy atmosphere but Renee looks around to enjoy nature. As she walks around Jabez comes to her using the address of “sister”. The knights are immediately on alert but Jabez ignores them. Renee admits that all Jabez seem to care about is the Holy Lady and not the empire. Jabez tells Renee he wants to spar with her without Bemtecan power. In a nutshell, Renee is trying to adjust to his weirdness. Just last night they were trying to kill each other but now it’s like he doesn’t care. And when she told him she wants to use him, he gave a jolly laugh.
    • Jabez continues to follow Renee around the base camp even though he already received his answer about her health because she fainted the night before. Renee checks on Mahala who is still unconscious. She’s the one who’s especially treating her. Renee tries to get Jabez to leave but he still sticks to her. When she returns to her barracks, she sees Cavert standing around her barracks. He looks like he came to see her and was worried because she wasn’t there. Jabez sees Cavert when they approach and tells Renee that he’s a pretty strong guy. He had seen Cavert stop the ancient beasts yesterday. His nickname for Cavert is black knight. He tells Cavert and Renee that they make a lovely couple. Renee thinks Jabez is crazy just like the rumors say because of his behavior. Cavert thinks he cannot understand Jabez at all. Renee, in a low voice, updates Cavert on everything that’s been going on with Jabez, Cavert decides to give up trying to understand him. lol Jabez tells Cavert that he can protect Renee in the empire and he (Jabez) will protect her too.
    • In the middle of this, the CP shows up. His leg is bandaged and Renee asks him about treatment. He said others were hurt more seriously so they were treated first. The CP sees Jabez, and becomes wary and draws his sword. Jabez whispers to Renee that yesterday she said she needs his strength. He asks her if she wants to take the throne because he can kill the CP. He said he’ll give it to her. Renee’s expression hardens immediately and he pats her shoulder. As soon as he does that intimate gesture, both Cavert and the CP stiffen. Jabez tells Renee he’s serious. He said there’s nothing he won’t do for her.
    • The CP wishes to speak with Renee so they go to a quiet area of the base camp after she managed to get Jabez off. lol The CP is silent for a long time without speaking. Finally he says that when they’re done organizing, they will receive Belzata’s surrender and return to the empire within a week. Renee thinks it’s good timing because Mahala needs at least a week to rest and recover. The CP tells Renee that he asked her before what he can do for her and she said that he would know the answer. He says that when he returns to the empire he will be crowned as emperor in a few months. He says after that he can make his own decisions so he will never touch her. He admits that so far the imperial family has done a lot to use her as a symbol. He joined them too. He’s not going to pretend not to know what they were doing about it. He’s saying it to be a little more accurate and to take responsibility for it.
    • Renee thinks that she didn’t expect him to bring up the topic directly. And he’s telling her he’ll take responsibility? Don’t tell her that’s why he said he’d never touch her. The CP, with a serious look of anticipation on his face and a look of acceptance, says that they cut support to Elnur, imprisoned the high priest of Elnur, applied tax laws of the past to the Duke of La Debus, and unjustly removed her old friend from Gloria. It was all to blackmail her. He says he won’t let this happen again. Renee thinks his voice sounds determined as if he’s repenting.
    • The CP was in the midst of another mouthful and vague silence to say what he was about to say before struggling to bring it up. He says the current emperor saw her as the next empress (CP’s wife). Renee thinks that she was expecting it but it feels strange to actually hear it. The CP says, with a more guilty look, now that they are returning to the empire, a lot of things may happen to her but he won’t let anything happen to her. Renee wonders how come he’s now willing to disobey the emperor. The CP says he won’t threaten her nor will he hold her back. Renee asks him why is he changing his attitude. Is he repenting for his mistake or does he have a hidden purpose? The CP is a little surprised and embarrassed about her direct question. He denies that he has any hidden purpose. He says it’s because he want her to be truly happy.
    • Renee feels uncomfortable and eventually turns away from him. There is a long silence. Renee doesn’t want to know what the CP’s changed attitude meant or why he was always treating her as a “means”. However, the reason for the change was too obvious without thinking too long. At the end of it, Renee laughs and tells him thank you, but she has to correct one thing. She says it’s not that he or the royal family won’t touch her. It’s that they can’t touch her.
    • Renee feels that for some reason, she feels like she should be angry at what the CP said. He thought that she should listen to that absurdity but she didn’t feel that way at all. She just didn’t feel anything or appreciate it. The CP seems embarrassed by what she said. Renee turns to look at Jabez who was currently messing with Tiraq. Jabez is now grinning and amicable but the CP fought him in an all out battle and the CP lost. This means the strongest member of the imperial family lost to Jabez. And Jabez now bows to the saint.
    • Renee grins and meets the eyes of the CP who was silent with a heavy expression. Renee tells him, “but thank you for your kindness”. She tells him there’s no need for a war of nerves in the empire. And the imperial family doesn’t want it anymore, right? Without even listening to his answer, Renee walks off. She walks towards Cavert still wearing a smile but Jabez welcomes her before Cavert does. Facing those purple eyes that shine tenderly in the warm sunshine, Renee finally smiles with relief.

    • The day after the empire receives the surrender letter from Belzata, Mahala awoke and the settlement proceeded more quickly. Renee tried to get her to rest but Mahala kept working. As a result, Renee followed Mahala around like a caretaker and assisted her and treated her. In conclusion, Mahala recovered quickly with Renee’s intensive care and Renee was glad that Belzata’s neat surrender didn’t complicate things. Renee tried to keep Jabez away from Mahala because Mahala almost died in Jabez’s trap. Jabez’s defense is that the trap wasn’t meant for Mahala but the CP. Due to this discord, Jabez only visited Renee outside the times she was next to Mahala.
    • Jabez tells Renee that he will go back to the empire with her. lol Renee asks him if he’s crazy. However, Jabez has already settled this with the CP. To be clear, Belzata’s surrender does not mean subjugation to the Empire. In fact, it did not completely topple Belzata but the ruler bowed his head to the Holy Lady of the Empire so it was far from devoting sovereignty. As such, Jabez’s visit to the empire is to discuss alliance and diplomatic relations. In other words, it’s a meeting to normalize diplomatic relations.
    • Belzata is a country of numerous resources and the empire hoped for the special mana stones of Belzata but it couldn’t bend its head to Belzata so it only receives its supply from La Debus, Cavert’s territory. However, it wasn’t possible to fill all of the empire’s demand from La Debus alone so it was always lacking in mana stones. Therefore, diplomatic relations with Belzata would open another means by which the empire can get mana stones. Belzata has been a closed country for the past few hundred years so opening trade with the empire will be the first trade target.
    • In the capital, the people are cheering as usual as the group proceeds through the entrance ceremony. Renee notes that several petals fall around Cavert, perhaps because he protected the saint who fell from the cliff and made countless contributions afterwards. Renee is glad about that but still feels it’s lacking.
    • Around Jabez, everyone fell silent. Just as Renee felt fear when she first saw him, the reaction of the imperial people is no different. Jabez brought ten armed escorts with him too so the people stepped back in fear when they saw them. Renee thinks that strangely, every time she enters, she’s not being cheered on either and she feels a little bitter.
    • The emperor welcomes the group from his podium. He looks happy about the victory but cannot hide his vigilance upon seeing Jabez. Nobody expected Jabez to visit the empire as soon as the war was over. The emperor makes his speech and then at the end of it, he calls the Saint Lady. Renee steps forward and bows. She was told previously to wear the colorful saint robes so she’s dressed in them now. The emperor orders her to raise her head and he looks down on her looking pretty pleased. Renee wonders if the CP hadn’t told him yet that she refuse to be empress. For now, Renee also smiles at the emperor.
    • The emperor tells Renee that she used shields and blessings to help the army. She also led everyone forward and boosted their morale. This war was started to protect the Holy Lady but since she protected the imperial army, this credit is to her praise. She also save Gloria’s head (Mahala) and the crown prince from danger. After a brief pause, the emperor continues. He announces that the saint has made the greatest contribution in this war. He tells Renee that he will grant her anything she desires.
    • Renee asks him if he will grant whatever she desires to confirm his declaration. The emperor says yes, and as the emperor of the Khjeshmir Empire, he swears in his name to the Holy Lady who will rewrite the empire’s history. Renee appreciates the enormity of his words so she ponders for a bit and looks up at him and declares, “I want Gloria’s independence.” Heh The emperor’s face hardens slightly at her words. He doesn’t answer for a second and asks her calmly what exactly does she mean. Renee tells him that she wants Gloria to be independent from imperial authority. She says that Gloria use to belong to the imperial city but she hopes that it will exist as a separate organization independent of imperial authority as of today. She continues, Gloria as an independent organization that respects the imperial authority but no longer unconditionally conform to it and imperial authority has no right to enforce it. That’s her wish.
    • Renee admits to herself that this type of organization has never existed since the founding of the empire. The emperor holds all the power of the empire and all living and breathing life in the empire, people, animal and even a drop of grass are all the property of the emperor. However, with Gloria’s independence, the imperial authority can no longer touch Gloria’s management, finances and personnel.
    • The emperor remains silent with a stiff face. He doesn’t speak for a long time. He’s apparently considering what kind of turmoil this first independence would soon cause in the empire. The nobles also wear serious expressions but the vast majority of people who didn’t know what this in itself would mean, were shouting for the emperor’s answer and burst into cheers to grant her wish.
    • Eventually the emperor opens his mouth with a heavy expression. He couldn’t help but keep the oath he made in his name at a time when all the imperial people were watching. The emperor grants her wish and Renee thanks him, bowing deeply. She turns her head to look at Mahala. She thinks that it was Mahala who watched how the former saint was swayed by the imperial authority and how the ugly power drove her to her death. Mahala tells Renee “good job” and “thank you”. It was the moment the first independent organization was born in the empire.
    • After Renee’s conversation with the emperor, the knights, Gloria, and mercenaries all disband. There will be a big celebration in a few days that will take place over three days. Jabez and his entourage go with the emperor to begin trade talks. Gloria’s crew returns to their tower. Renee will not return with them as Mahala taps her on the shoulder several times and laughs. She figures Renee is headed somewhere else.
    • Renee goes to the Nikyll Knights building but Cavert isn’t there. Tiraq suggests that from the direction Cavert went, he might be heading to Elnur temple. Renee wonders why would he go there but then the memory comes to her in a flash. She couldn’t help laughing when she realizes why Cavert would go there. She leaves the Nikyll Knights building and thinks about the time she said goodbye to Cavert. The moment she left him after saying they should stop seeing each other, stop talking to each other, stop greeting each other and stop worrying about each other. However, after saying this, she had whispered to him that he should wait here and that she’ll definitely come back.
    • When Renee recalls this, she laughs again. Cavert was waiting for her at Elnur temple where she really said that. Believing in her words that she will come back, he waited for her endlessly like a man tied to that place for life. She thinks how on earth did he dwell on that word. He’s been waiting for her dozens, hundreds, thousands of time, brooding over it. As soon as he returned to the empire, he headed to the temple of Elnur.
    • Renee arrives at the temple and heads to the place where she last spoke to him. Between the pillars, it was snowing at dawn then but now the flowers are blooming. In a place of green flowers and refreshing scents, standing like a man who stopped at that time, he was waiting there for her forever. She faces him and the only difference from that time is their clothes. Cavert is dressed in the uniform of the General of the Nikyll Knights and she is dressed in saintly robes.
    • Renee stands in front of Cavert. He’s standing in the middle of the hallway where she said goodbye and she’s standing at the beginning of the hallway. She thinks that the moment is strange as they stare at each other without saying a word. It’s all strange and new. After staring at him for a long time, he takes a step forward. Renee’s heart thumps irregularly. It starts to race rapidly. It tells her what she’s decided at that moment.
    • Renee calls out to Cavert as she approaches him. Cavert’s eyes are filled with this moment as if he doesn’t want to miss it. Renee’s heart throbs and her fingers are trembling but she clenches her hand and tells him that at first, after the war with Vuos, she confessed to him. She’s never forgotten the moment and the memory of that time because it’s always bothered her. She used to change her mask with sadness or guilt and sometimes she would stop herself from breathing. Therefore, she had to shake off the moment now and there was something she had to fix for him.
    • Renee says that it must have been so hard because the confession went wrong from the beginning. Cavert doesn’t say anything. Renee tells him that she thinks that he might have already known that in fact, at first, she was going to confess to the head of the Holy Knights but she was drunk and mistook him for that person. She tells him that she thought he might already know.
    • Renee realizes that even after revealing that she mistook her confession partner, Cavert’s expression remains unchanged. The placid face already informed her of that fact. She vaguely noticed it before but when she got the confirmation from him directly, she feels bitter. She agonizes over how much he must have endured and how long he must have been anxious about her. Covering up that anxiety, he became friendly as he hoped to hold her.
    • Renee’s heart aches to the point where she wants to cry. She feels so sorry that she had decided to postpone the apology until now. What she really wants to do now is confess her true feelings. She tells Cavert that now she will confess. She takes a short breath. Her heart feels like it’s going to explode because of how fast it’s beating. She opens her mouth and pours out her feelings. Without doing this, she doesn’t think she can stand it any longer.
    • Renee tells Cavert that she likes him very much. Cavert asks her why. She says because everything is good about him. At the moment, she wants to laugh and cry but she resists the feeling. She tells him she likes the way he smiles at her, the way he tries to be friendly, and how he looks like a knight when protecting her. She comes right up in front of him. She grins slowly and tells him that she’s not drunk and she’s not high. lol She tells him that she’s confessing with a sober mind and with all her heart.
    • Renee thinks now she’s making the right confession to Cavert and not the wrong confession. Renee tells him that she likes everything about him and asks him if he wants to meet her. She continues by telling him to let them have a relationship. Cavert’s face looks dazed so Renee questions him in curiosity. She asks him why he looks dazed and if he won’t answer her confession. lol Cavert stutters and covers his mouth with his hand for a moment. He looks down at her and starts laughing. The emotion in his eyes is so obvious. He says it’s like a dream.
    • Renee didn’t expect him to say it out loud but she also laughs at the feelings revealed in his laughter. Renee tells him that since it’s like a dream, would he like to hear more? She tells him that he asked her to get engaged first so, she reaches for his hand, and tells him to marry her. Cavert doesn’t say anything. Renee tells him she’s totally free now except that she will the head of Gloria and she has work to do.
    • Renee looks up at Cavert who is staring blankly at her hands. She thinks he’s like a man who blinks slowly as though he can’t believe it and keeps pondering what she just said. Finally he lifts up his eyes and make eye contact. Renee starts laughing after watching the series of processes. She waves her hand at him and tells him that she kept her promise. She came back. She’s back again. She adds that the reason she went to war, the reason why she went to the front was because she wanted to meet him again. She asks him, “Isn’t this trustworthy?”
    • Cavert whispers her name after hearing this. Renee continues and tells him that she’ll make him happy. She’s not leaving him anymore so please come to her. Renee spoke implacably and earnestly. For the first time she was at the forefront of a war and she was facing all that scares her. She did it because she wanted to meet him who was still waiting for her here. Renee tells him, she’s dating him, she’s engaged to him and she’ll marry him. Even before she finishes speaking, Cavert pulls her into an embrace and buries his face in her hair.
    • Cavert continues to hug her tightly as if her existence itself is his happiness. He laughs as they stay in each other‘s embrace. Renee asks him if she can call him by his name now. He responds that she could have done that a long time ago. Renee thinks the look in his eyes creates an infinite sweet feeling. Their lips touch. One of them thinks that they should playfully call each other’s name in between sweet kisses and propose to each other. Renee smiles and rubs her nose against Cavert’s. She tells him, “I love you” and hugs his neck and closes her eyes while wondering if their sweet breath mixed with the kiss could be so sweet. Everything was a perfectly happy moment.
    • After the war the imperial city was very busy. Since they are afraid of Jabez, they call in Gloria to hit the shield. lol Consequently, Renee was able to meet Jabez during the negotiations and she wondered if he felt bad because the imperial people was so wary of him. However, Jabez laughs and seems to enjoy the fear he inspires.
    • In the midst of this busy activity, Cavert invites Renee to his territory, La Debus. When they get there, the place is in full bloom. Renee reflects that when she first visited, it was in the winter during the former duke’s funeral. Now, however, there is a warm breeze. Walking with Cavert to the duke’s mansion, she thinks it’s a long way across the garden. They discuss Jabez as they go. Cavert wonders if Jabez has any animosity towards the imperial authority. Renee responds that she was worried about that too but she doesn’t think Jabez has any antipathy towards the emperor. In fact, she feels that Jabez isn’t interested in the emperor at all. Cavert asks what does Jabez care about then. Renee says, “Strength”. Cavert looks strange but Renee thinks it is indeed true that “strength” is Jabez’s main focus. Renee says Jabez likes the strong. They saw it then when he was messing with Tiraq and asking him about his strength. She adds, that’s why Jabez is doing her a favor. Jabez had told her previously that he likes her because he likes the strong. This is because he sincerely thinks of her as the master of Obet. He thinks of her as the master of real power. Renee didn’t necessarily agree with Jabez’s conclusion but he was doing her a favor and she didn’t want to turn it down.
    • While walking and talking, they finally arrive at the mansion. Last time Renee couldn’t see the house properly because of the funeral but seeing it now, she thinks the size of the place is no joke. Will this place be her place to live some day? She thinks it’s a very unrealistic story but she’s a little ashamed of herself for thinking about it so naturally.
    • A man who looks quite young approaches them. He greets them politely and introduces himself to Renee as the duke’s chief aide. He’s basically in charge of running La Debus while Cavert is in the capital and sends him important documents. Cavert asks his aide about the progress of a certain matter. He’s told that there are no problems so far and he expects the matter will be completed within a month. Cavert tells the aide that he’s done a good job.
    • Renee believes that the matter is related to her and asks Cavert if that’s the plan he mentioned previously. They enter his office in the mansion. Renee remembers that after they broke up, she heard that Cavert was spending a lot of time in La Debus. Cavert gives Renee the documents without answering her and when she reads them, she’s surprise. The documents show that Cavert is applying for independence from the imperial powers. It means Cavert is requesting a more independent territory to rule the land like an emperor’s agent. In a way, it’s similar to the creation of a small nation within the empire. It will be important whether the emperor approves it but La Debus has all the elements for an independent territory. It is an area that is completely financially independent and has sufficient population. With the district and residents living in it, Cavert is ultimately seeking to gain autonomy. This means the division and dispersion of power and from the perspective of the empire, the good and bad coexist. There is an independent territory from the emperor’s power but the Duke of Williard no longer challenges the emperor’s authority.
    • Renee looks up at Cavert and puts down the papers with trembling hands. This development was unexpected so she stutters and asks him if this is why he was going to La Debus so frequently. He says yes. She asks why. He replies that he didn’t want to see her suffer because of him. She reflects on the tax evasion charges that the imperial tyrants used to blackmail her. She wonders how Cavert thought about the imperial power in that situation. The power that tried to kill him and eventually used documents from the past to cause him another loss. She couldn’t bring herself to say anything to him and just rests her head on his chest. Cavert hugs her and pats her on the back. He says and there’s something that he wanted to get out of their grasp completely. He adds that she’s coming with him and he doesn’t want to be disturbed anymore [by the imperial tyrants].
    • Renee is moved by his words. His last words prompts her sense of mischief. She raise her head and teases him by asking if that’s a proposal since he said she’s coming with him. Cavert is embarrassed and she starts to laugh. She thinks she went to the battlefield to get him back and he was preparing a place for her to come back to. She shakes her head in his arms while thinking their roles seem appropriate.

There’s probably just about 15 pages left of the main story so I will finish them over the next few days. @Luna Nightwing , I hope the art is still the same for the manhwa. If it’s different, I hope it’s better. I especially love the way the faces are drawn and I love the uniforms for the Nikyll Knights. There was a panel where they were walking behind Renee when she was keeping them back and when they pretended that it didn’t matter to them, the whole group looked so cool. There’s a girl there too and the pose and the uniforms looked awesome

    • After looking at the documents for La Debus independence, Renee takes Cavert for a walk in the garden. She doesn’t want to miss the spring breeze outside and the flowers blooming brightly. Renee learns that it’s the first time that Cavert has ever walked in the garden like this. Since a child, he often spent his time elsewhere. Renee thinks of him as a desolate person. She also thinks of the time he memorized the flowers in the garden of his mansion in the capital just so that he could guide her through the garden back then. She laughs at the memory.
    • Renee thinks it’s sad that Cavert never has the leisure time to walk through his gardens. She holds his hand with a brighter smile on purpose and leads him through the beautiful garden. Renee thinks that La Debus is a very large province in the tourism industry and yet Cavert has apparently never seen any of its attractions. She wants La Debus to be a happy place for him from now on. As she thinks on this, she sees a familiar flower and runs to it. It’s one of the flowers that he showed her in the Western mountains of Vuos. She laughs and the description of her sounds like a lovely spring view with her hair blowing in the wind. She asks Cavert if he planted the wild flowers for her. He seems hesitant to answer as he looks at her smiling in a garden full of flowers. He eventually laughs as they enjoy each other and tease each other in the blooming spring garden while walking and holding hands. Renee looks again at the flowers in the garden that he had given her in the past when he apologized. Admittedly, seeing them pleased her. She thinks that every one of those little flower had a lot of memories for them.
    • Although Renee learned about the details and thorough plan and preparation for the independence of La Debus, she was still anxious. With Gloria’s independence, the imperial power would consider what an independent organization means and what its repercussions will be. In that situation, would it accept La Debus’s request for independence? And what if marquis and counts wanted to follow the duke and ask for independence? Of course, there’s no other territory that has achieved more complete financial independence than La Debus so it’s still unlikely for other territories but more and more territories might start dreaming of independence.
    • Therefore, Renee is worried that the emperor will not allow La Debus’s independence unconditionally even if there was no justification for rejection. However, a completely unimaginable thing turned out to be a variable in their favor. That variable is Jabez. Jabez chose La Debus as his mana stone trading area in the empire. Mana stone can be easily broken if the wrong force is applied so its management is very important. In the empire, however, they’ve never managed mana stone as pure as those in Belzata. Consequently, Jabez insisted that he wanted to deal with La Debus since La Debus is the area that deals with mana stone the most. In other words, La Debus will be the area where Belzata’s mana stone will be imported and redistributed to the empire. The imperial power’s position was to import the mana stone directly to the capital but Jabez strongly objected and the imperial power had to accept his terms. In addition, Jabez selected Cavert as the manager of the trade which eventually led to the imperial power’s inability to refuse Cavert’s request for independence.
    • Renee arrives in Gloria. Mahala tells her that she’s very surprised by the news she heard. Renee says she thinks Jabez liked Cavert but she really didn’t expect him to designate Cavert as the manager of the trade. She thinks he has done something very helpful. Mahala says that Jabez is doing Renee a big favor. He means to be nice to the Obet owner.
    • Renee wonders if Jabez really helped Cavert because of her. When she saw him last time he had asked if Cavert is her companion. So, that’s why he showed him favor? Renee shakes her head thinking that Jabez is a completely unpredictable person.
    • Renee changes the topic and asks Mahala why is she walking around the tower when she should be resting. Mahala drops the bomb that she’ll be retiring soon. lol Mahala reminds Renee that she already told her that after the war, she will head Gloria. Renee looks at the documents that transfer the head position to her. In the past they would have had to get the imperial power’s authority but now it’s simply done with Mahala’s seal. Renee is all in a panic because she wants a probationary period to learn how to lead the organization. Mahala calms her down and asks her to lunch. They talk about the former Cecilia at lunch and Renee asks Mahala to train her for for six months.
    • The victory celebration for the Belzata war finally arrives. Wizards from the empire gather to decorate the entire capital with colorful decorations and parties are held in the square. All the people of the empire come out to rejoice. The celebration will last for three days.
    • The most talked about people in the situation are the saint and Jabez. An unprecedented strong Jabez came out of Belzata and words of praise were heard everywhere for the saint who beat Jabez and brought victory to the empire. Renee finds such praise embarrassing but the cheers of the people soon added to Renee’s influence and indeed the saint was no longer at the mercy of the imperial family. And even more so, Jabez’s favors are limited to the saint. lol
    • As the story of La Debus’s independence spread, many people were interested. Rumors were also spreading like the scandal of the century that during the war, the saint broke down and cried in distress over the leader of the Nikyll Knights. The content of the rumor was not all pleasant but the conclusion of the situation is that quite a few people grew interested in Renee and Cavert. Rumors soon came to an end when Renee arrived at the victory celebration with Cavert at her side. The two were also wearing matching colors. The aristocrats seemed quite surprised but quickly greeted them with emotion. Some of them began to kiss up to Renee because she’s the saint and the rumored soon-to-be head of Gloria.
    • Fortunately, more amiable and familiar friends in the persons of Tiraq and Niyan soon joined them. Niyan tells Renee that she looks like the ‘queen of the night’ and Tiraq tells her she looks beautiful. Renee thinks it’s too much praise. Tiraq starts to joke about how he almost died so he’s thrilled to see Cavert and Renee back together. Renee thinks of all the atrocities Cavert committed while they were in the break up phase including throwing a sword into a tree. Renee looks up at Cavert reproachfully but Cavert simply changed her glass of wine as though he didn’t know what her look meant. Seeing him take care of her in that calm manner made her feel that he’s supportive and harmless.
    • Tiraq brings up the fact that Cavert is building a temple of Elnur in La Debus. This is Cavert’s collaboration with the high priest at Renee’s temple. The story of them establishing the temple raised interest in the scandal of the century. Rumors said that the duke was building the temple not for missionary work but because of his interest in the saint. Rumors also said that the duke is in a relationship with the saint. In such a situation, Renee and Cavert entered the party as partners, which is the same as answering the questions without doing it directly.
    • Tiraq laughs when Renee tells him that the temple will be built within the year. He then tells Renee to never leave the leader behind in the future. Renee thinks that Cavert doesn’t even seem bothered by their conversation. Not too long after that the princess Lucia approaches them and Tiraq and Niyan promptly leaves.
    • The princess greets Renee using the title, ‘The Holy Lady of the Empire’. The two bow slightly to each other. Cavert’s face grew stiff from the moment the woman appears but he greets her nonetheless. The princess asks Renee why isn’t she wearing the power of Obet. Renee asks her if she thinks she’s the master of Obet. The woman responds yes, otherwise why would Jabez do her a favor. She says of course the saint is a pretty likable person but Jabez even cursed her himself. The woman then tells Renee that she guesses that it wasn’t power that she needed but the man behind her (Cavert). Renee coughs successively when the woman says this and Cavert has to calm her down while holding her hand and asking if she’s okay.
    • Renee answers the princess in the affirmative. (Cavert is the thing she needed). The princess tells her that it’s a wonderful victory for the saint. Renee is still panicking over the imperial tyrants possible plans for her despite the fact that she told the CP that they can’t touch her. (Due to her fear and insecurity, Renee comes off as the princess’s toy even during this conversation when she’s the one who now has the victory) The princess tells her that since she met her at Elnur, she always thought that she was quite intelligent.
    • The princess tells Renee that she made a great contribution to the war against Belzata, leading the empire to victory; she won Jabez’s favor; she will become the next head of Gloria and now the duke is trying to make La Debus an independent territory. She said even the hard-working romance rumor in the imperial city (CP and Renee) collapsed today with the party leader accompanying her. Renee asks the woman what exactly does she want to say. The princess laughs and tells Renee that it’s her perfect victory. Renee thinks that the princess is acting like a frenemy. The woman asks her if she’ll invite her to her wedding. She says she’ll send her a big congratulatory money.
    • After all that nonsense, according to Renee’s point of view, the princess leaves. After drinking more wine, Renee turns to Cavert and asks him if it’s over. Cavert tells her yes, it’s over. Renee thinks it was a pretty vain and ridiculous ending to be the last of the imperial family to torture her and cause Cavert to suffer loss for the past three years. Cavert looks down at her, brushes her forehead and suddenly kisses her forehead. Renee thinks they’re in a corner but there must be a few people watching. Cavert tells her that seeing the princess retreat like that, he really thought that she won’t be his loss. Renee laughs and thinks that at this point, she might really be the master of not losing. She thinks that she’s not the loss of Mahala and she’s not the loss of Cavert. They’re not her loss either. She takes Cavert’s hand with a smile and tells him that for the rest of her life, it won’t happen. (His loss)

I found the prince shady from the beginning.
If he acted like a normal person, I might have been surprised that he had a hidden motive. I have seen this kind of character too many times not to notice it. A politically affluent person who is overly nice to a normal girl who doesn’t particularly stand out but might have the potential to be useful. He was too nice to her that I found it suspicious. And then when Renee figured out he had a motive for her divine power, it was a clue to some of his character.

Also, from beginning to end, the prince’s character was thoroughly consistent. He was thoroughly a lukewarm person who never showed any initiative, any strength of character and any strength of emotion. He was just a part of the cogwheels of the imperial family. He never stood up to his father. He just sat on the sidelines and agreed with his family’s actions which, by the way, also benefited him. In fact, it really wouldn’t be necessary to lift a finger to marry Renee because if the imperial family’s plan succeeded, Renee would be forced to marry him anyway. That’s probably why he didn’t think he had to bother that Renee was going out with Cavert until he saw Renee blushing at Cavert at his sister’s party. However, I suppose it suited his character because things normally just fell into his lap according to the perspective he shared. He was always supported, praised and his way was never wrong.

    • Renee and Mahala spend a lot of time reorganizing Gloria now that it no longer operated in the imperial sphere. Personnel had to be redone in some cases and a lot of paper work and operational processes had to be revised. During this time, Lily decided to become a researcher instead of field worker. Renee thinks that Lily made this decision because she saw Mahala almost die right in front of her. Lily wants to research attacks used by divine power so Renee often participates in her research experiments. Lily will also work as Renee’s assistant when she fully takes on the position as the head of Gloria.
    • Renee is also involved in the expansion of Elnur temples in other provinces outside the capital. Apparently there will be a two-religion status in the empire. Consequently, Renee reviews the list of priests that will be sent to serve in the new temples. While working on all this, the imperial city also contacted her, not to blackmail her, but to ask for help in the diplomacy efforts with Belzata. Renee heard that it was almost like war would break out again between the two countries. When she goes to visit Jabez, he insists that she comes to visit Belzata in a couple months. (He does appear often in the side stories with Renee, Cavert, and in one of them, their kids)
    • Cavert was also very busy because his territory gained its independence and faced many changes. He also had to prepare for the trade deal with Belzata. Amidst all of this busyness, the rumor mill was still grinding. There was a childish rumor that the leader of the Holy Knights ended up with a mournful unrequited love and the saint returned to the duke, but it wasn’t as bad as the previous rumors. There was also a rumor that the saint and the warrior (Cavert) had fallen in love with each other.
    • Renee and Cavert hadn’t seen each other properly in recent days. Over three weeks, during the times they met for walks and meals, Cavert kept looking at Renee as though he wanted to say something but couldn’t. Renee inquired about it but he always remained in a troubled silence. One day, Mahala gave Renee a half day and tells her to go look for the duke. Renee happily complies and rushes off to the Nikyll Knights building. The problem is, Cavert isn’t there and won’t be back until night fall. She was going to return to Gloria but Tiraq and the knights keep her there and begins to talk about marriage. Apparently Tiraq has been married for ten years. Tiraq also suspiciously begins to ask Renee when she will marry the duke. Renee has been so busy lately that she hasn’t thought about it. She thinks they need to get engaged first according to the rules of nobility. Tiraq tells her to skip it and just get married. In fact, by the end of the conversation, Tiraq, on behalf of their team begs her to please marry the leader before they die of grief. lol
    • Renee got to the bottom of the marriage talks. She thought maybe Cavert had leaked a marriage-related story to the knights but none of that happened. The members were simply worried because they saw Renee and Cavert get together then breakup before. They were also worried that things will get complicated as Renee dragged her feet and feared she would get tangled up with the imperial city and the CP again. Their worries made Renee laugh and she thought their concern is cute.
    • By the time Cavert returns to the building, he finds Renee in the room next to his office sitting on the sofa and looking over wedding halls. Cavert is puzzled. Renee gives him the documents as he sits next to her. Even though he looks tired, he reads through the documents thoroughly and provides good feedback. Renee immediately realizes that his constructive feedback probably stems from the fact that he already researched the venues. She inquires about it and Cavert shuts up right away. He appears slightly embarrassed until he starts to laugh. Renee looks at him and asks him where should they have their wedding then. Cavert suggests a park in the middle of La Debus where the largest tree glows at night because mana stone energy gathers there. He holds her hand and in a peaceful tone tells her that he has the band, the clothes designers and the wedding venue.
    • Renee reflects on her conversation with Tiraq earlier. It seems that Cavert had confided in Tiraq about his wedding preparations but he was afraid to bring it up with her until she’s ready. Renee thinks that she asked Cavert to marry her first but he was worried that she might have made the remark lightly and his actions of taking it seriously would be make her feel pressured. She found out that he had asked Tiraq how he got married. Renee asks him why was he worried. Cavert admits because he prepared everything quickly. She asks him why did he prepare it quickly. Cavert says that he was actually a little surprised about that too. He thought he would take it easy and get engaged first.
    • Renee ponders that they did talk of engagement since in Iiknur and envisioned a future with each other. They accepted each other’s companionship and she was relaxed without any anxiety. Cavert’s feelings, her feelings, were undoubtedly clear. However, Cavert was really quick to get ready for the wedding. Renee thinks that if they say they’re getting married less than a month after the war, they’re not just getting married quickly but they’re getting married at a super speed without the engagement step. Only unless they were already engaged the moment she received the bracelet in Iiknur.
    • Cavert cups Renee’s face in his hands and tells her that because he let her go once, he wants to marry her soon. He said he thought once that he could be with her and missed it in vain and then he had to part with her. He touches the bracelet several times on her wrist as he admits that because of that, he was in a hurry but didn’t know how to bring up the topic with her. Renee asks him if that’s why he’s been looking at her all the time without saying anything. Renee realizes that Cavert has been agonizing over the marriage topic all this time that they have met over three weeks. She laughs and buries her head on his shoulder. Cavert tells her that she was very busy so he didn’t want to bring it up. Renee reminds him that he was busy too.
    • After Renee teases and flirts with Cavert, touching the bridge of his nose, etc., she asks him why did he ask Tiraq how he got married. Cavert answers that he didn’t know what to do for the proposal. Renee reminds him that she was the one who already proposed. She asked him to marry her while saying that she won the war to meet him and that’s proof of her trustworthiness. Renee reprimands him and tells him that she’s not leaving anymore and that she’s going to make him happy. Cavert denies doubting her words and tells her he remembers everything she said.
    • Renee thinks that Cavert looks at her tenderly and preciously. She couldn’t help noticing the soft feelings that permeate his look. His eyes and smiling lips relax when he looks at her. His facial expressions and his eyes reveal many of his feelings for her. He’s so gentle that she thinks perhaps he’s proposing to her just by looking at her. He says that he doesn’t want to lose her any more. His lips touch her forehead carefully. It was a cautious and gentle act like a man who feared breaking something precious with a little force. He repeats that he doesn’t want to lose her anymore and he doesn’t want to let her go.
    • The kisses that he gives her one after another from the top of her eyes, the bridge of her nose and the tip of her nose felt like an oath. The honest entreaty and affection offered by him felt like a man who did not want to lose her existence. The soft touch of his hand on her cheek and the warmth of his hand...everything felt familiar yet unfamiliar. His actions of barely touching his lips over her ears, tickled her. She smiles as she slightly twists her body. He kisses her cheek before speaking. Renee thinks he’s probably been trying to figure out how to propose every day for a long time.
    • With a sweet voice, Cavert tells her that he wants to be by her side and he wants her to be by his side. Renee thinks it’s a plea to her and an oath to himself. Cavert asks her, “Will you stay with me forever?” Renee looks up at him blinking slowly. Recalling everything he had said to her, she remembered his expression at every moment. The emotions in his purple eyes were clear and the warmth felt in the hands he held was good. She hugs his neck and kisses his lips.
    • Renee thinks they’ve been together for a very long time. At first she was scared of him so she took a step back. However, with the confession that she had done under the influence of alcohol, Cavert took a step closer and on the first day of snow, he stood in front of her. They broke up and despite the fact that they had taken a few steps back during that time, they still looked at each other. Eventually they were together in the end.
    • Renee answers Cavert’s straightforward proposal with a “of course” [she’ll stay with him forever]. Renee kisses him and he looks surprised. Their lips touch again. Their confession of love mingle with their breath as they sweetly call each other’s names. Her back touches the sofa as she hugs Cavert and the warmth of his arms make her whole body tingle. She thinks it’s so pleasant that the relationship she met through the wrong confession brought her a lover who would be with her for the rest of her life. She laughs. She thinks now that she thinks about it, was the “wrong confession” really wrong? She closes her eyes thinking that it was probably a very interesting question.

Yes and to add to your post, it seems like they used to release the manhwa every 10 days on the 5th, 15th and 25th of the month.

Unfortunately, I don't know where to read the novel either

The artist promoted S2 on twitter a while ago and if you check on naver, S2 should be coming back this month. Let's be patient and wait a bit more ^^
