Discussion A HYPOTHESIS : why do we hate NTR in novels

NTR...one of the most popular concepts of web novels.
Some hate it , Some enjoy it ( especially , the lunatics at nuf )
But, today we are not going to talk about those Sadistic lunatics who enjoy NTR .

So...why do we hate it so much...????
It's only a simple matter of the love interest of a MC being violated by another being.... not something that serious, also it's not like it's happening to you ,or it's happening in the reality...!!!

so....why do you hate it so much?
why do you stay away from novels that has NTR...???

What i think is..... while reading a Novel, you subconsciously like to regard yourselves as or with the MC ...and when the NTR happens it triggers your senses of being NTR'ed , thus, you feel unpleasant about it.

what do you think...???

i hate seeing brussel sprouts being used in a cooking show on tv. even tho i'm not the one eating nor am i putting myself in the shoes of such person. i just hate the sight of one.

 

I also have a question. Why the heck does a new thread pop up every 3 days about something related to NTR? You would think that at some point it would all just stop.

well personally, because when i read novel i'm imagining the male protagonist was me.

so if male protagonist get betrayed by his GF/Wife, and it was his bestfriend who steal his GF/Wife too..
it was hurt, even its just imaginary for me -_-

so what you say about us subconsiously regarding ourself as MC, that was right!
because it make us enjoying reading novel.. but well maybe just me that reading novel like that!

 

The thing I don't get about NTR is they always try and vilify the guy who steals the girl, but they never put any of the blame on the girl herself. I mean seriously she was in a committed relationship, and she betrayed her lover just because the other guy was a better lay? What kind of horrible slutty thing to do is that?

 

If you ask why... I don't really know, though. It's just, reading NTR is making me uncomfortable. Not because I assume myself in MC's position, but I just can't get comfortable with the idea.

Ah what the heck am I even saying. I just read what I think was nice, and that's why I avoid gender bender and NTR.

 

I think its because we identify ourselves with the MC. We become emotionally attached to the main character and somehow, the mc's plight becomes our plight too. We get annoyed when someone does underhanded/unfair things to our mc.

Then here comes the author with his NTR machine to screw the mc, therefore screwing us too.

 

I want to read novel for fun, action, adventurer, comedy, war, romance and I'm pretty sure NTR is not on my reading list.

Why do I want to get myself depressed and raging for whole day instead of having fun and excitement.

 

Uhmm there's nothing wrong with ntr sometimes it is necessary in order for the mc to grow. Its just there are so many sensitive readers that over reacting.

 

In case someone accuses you of being a sexist.....i'd like to say I'm not one of them

 

The path of NTR is not for eveyone , just a select group can walk such a hazardous path.

Leaving the nonsense behind , i can perfectly understand the hate for NTR , it's in our instincts, i guess but there's always some over sensitive people , to which everything is NTR , example:
the mc has a crush on a girl , but the girl isn't his girlfriend or anything , later she gets with another boy . "Ntr , ntr,ntr" will shout some . But , NO! that's not NTR , how can someone steal something that never belonged to you in the first place?

 

Eh, what I said is really the opposite of sexist, in fact it is open minded and progressive. Rather the idea that women can be "stolen" in the first place as though they're objects is what should be considered sexist.

it actually depends on 4 factor
- did the MC deserve it?
- why it should be exist?
- why this X character the victim?
- lesson can be learned later on?
if there's no logical answer that compose a good story in that 4 factor, i just will call it not a good one.

 

Because ntr is a cancer to a romance novel, it belongs and should only be allowed to porn/hentai

 

Depends on the point of view as well if the mc does it its still ntr but we care less because it is the mc doing it

 

Ummm, without consent from the love interest, I think that's just rape? NTR is if the love interest (who is currently in a relationship with MC) cheats on MC with another party. (I think?)
