Hi guys, I watched a Japanese drama several years ago but I have forgotten the title. I do remember that it's about bullying at school. The story is about this idealistic young male teacher who started working at this high school where his students were bullying one single girl. The girl had a stepmom who's a corporate lawyer and she tried to get lawyer mom to help but the cold stepmom didn't want to have anything to do with her. Later the girl turned up dead and it's suspected to be suicide due to bullying. The formerly cold lawyer somehow developed a conscience and wanted to find out how her stepdaughter died and got the teacher to help. The teacher found some evidence at first but turned it in to the school instead of the lawyer stepmom. And the evidence got destroyed by the school who wanted to cover things up. So, does anyone know the title of the drama?
Well, that seem about right. And we have a typical naive, stupid young teacher. Sound a lot like RL to me.
I think I have watched something similar but I forgot the title, to begin with I almost never watch movie with real people in it XD How about watching/reading Koe no Katachi for now while waiting for the answer?
No need to watch a drama for this. Just go to any old school, wait around the popular guys and girls and voila. Ready made bullying drama for your consumption. Because kids are assholes. Protip: American schools tend to be a bit more outwardly aggressive, so it's less subtle, which makes it much easier to detect and watch. Asian schools on the other hand are significantly more subtle because of their suppressed culture and the importance of reputation, so it's not as easy to detect, but once you do, it's waaay more twisted and sickening because of how far they need to go hide things and still make it satisfying.
how did it end? did the teacher and lawyer get justice? or the girl died because she was fondled by tentacles?
Thanks! That's the correct answer! I just want to remember the correct title so I can complete my TV review. When I was in school and the army, I was bullied a lot too. So I can understand what the girl went through.
Here's my review. It contains major spoilers though. To be honest, although I call it a "review", it's mostly a very angry rant against Kaji-sensei, the protagonist of the show. Spoiler In this drama, besides the bullies, the person I hate the most is Kaji-sensei, the idealistic inbred moron who got dropped on his head as a baby. First of all, he got his priorities all wrong. He had a dead girl on his hands. Someone who might have committed suicide. And circumstantial evidence showed that it could have been a suicide, not an accident. Ane the evidence was entrusted to him right before the girl died. Because she trusted her sensei. And what did he do? Okay, at first it wasn't his fault. Handing the evidence over to his superior at work was the right thing to do AT THAT POINT IN TIME. But after the evidence went missing and nobody at work seemed to be doing any investigating and his co-workers started bullying him, he ought to go like, "Oh that's what's going on..." Fortunately, an unknown sympathizer decided to land the dumbass a hand. He helpfully told the sensei (via a note) where the evidence was hidden. And so the evidence was returned to Kaji-sensei once again. Unfortunately, inbreeding produces serious genetic defects, so Kaji the Inbred made a decision to return the evidence back to the school. Why? Because he didn't want to hurt the bully's feelings. He thought that he shouldn't doubt any student and hurt their feelings! At that moment, I thought about selling some beach front property in Narnia to Kaji-sensei. The situation wasn't too complex, in my opinion. Aizawa had just died. And according to the evidence presented, she probably killed herself. She's dead and could never tell anyone if she's suffered or if her feelings were hurt in any way. And the ones left behind had an obligation. The obligation to uncover the truth and speak up for her. And yet, Kaji the Inbred was worried about DOUBTING AND HURTING THE FEELINGS OF HER CLASSMATES? Her classmates, the ones who bullied her and the ones who ignored her suffering, were still alive. They could talk. They could spin lies to cover their crime. UNLIKE DEAD AIZAWA WHO TRUSTED KAJI-SENSEI! The first time Kaji-sensei handed over the evidence of her bullying to the school, I was angry. But the second time he did that, knowing very well that the school would just hide the evidence from the public, I prayed to the gods of TV land to deliver Kaji the Inbred to a gang of psychopaths who would then slowly cannibalize him over several days. Adults like Kaji the Inbred who absolutely trust children and believe they could do no wrong are the worst kind of adults. Seriously. Anyone who believes that a teenager can do no wrong should just stay at home and smoke crack till they die of O.D. Hopefully right after they spent all their money buying my beach front property in Narnia. Now, I have been dissing Kaji-sensei all this time but he's not the only adult who's at fault here. Kaji was dumb enough for me to suspect inbreeding in his family tree, but the principal was downright malicious. During the court trial, she actually defended her actions by telling the court that she did her best to protect Aizawa. What did the principal do? She told the court that she had talks with Aizawa and her main bully. So what did that mean? It meant that all along, she knew who were the ones picking on Aizawa and despite knowing who could have been responsible for Aizawa's death, she chose to hide the evidence. For what? For the sake of the school and the jobs of the teachers. All in all, this is a really rage-inducing drama. I don't recommend watching it if you enjoy movies or TV shows where the underdog victims fight back against their bullies. In this drama, the victim died within the first few episodes and then I had to sit through flashback episodes where she was cruelly tormented by her classmates. There's no salvation or carthasis. Not for the viewer or the victim. There's a cool short scene involving a righteous avenger at the end though. But you would have to sit through 11 or so rage-inducing episodes before you get to see it.
Or 11. I can't remember which one it was except that the righteous avenger showed up towards the end.
