It can but, that depends on a number of things. In the case of a never ending novel though it doesn't have to, it just to be a slow transition that feels like a natural flow.

Eeeeeeeh? Nah, I don't like stuff that is too big...

5 digits? 100 chapters per day? I refuse to read anything with 4 digits of chapters in the first place...

They could just teach their children how to fix the bot if it broke or something in that case.

Ah! A bot is short for robot.

On this context, you can say it is basically a computer program, maybe an AI.

Rane-chan's point that it might be possible that the one writing this novel is an a program, since it doesn't feel likely for a human to be able to do it.

This sounds like my novel I'm plotting lol :sushi_hide:
It currently doesn't have an ending in mind so if i write it... It'll probably keep going until i run out of ideas and get sick and tired enough to end it since the project was merely for my enjoyment... And who would want your entertainment to end? Lol

Id rather read a well planned novel that have clear goals and ending.
A novel that is driven by quick pace of release is bound to have a huge drop in quality once the initial premise and idea of the author is used up.
Then the mass amount of cliches, repetitive writing and empty content will soon spam the novel.
It becomes very redundant and boring to read.
Not to mention that a high amount of chapters will put off all the motivation of a new reader to even start to read it.
After 2 months it will be like 6000 chapters and more.. omg
Who wants to read a novel with 50000 chapters ongoing?

Immagine it as a program that writes chapters that are good, each and every one of them is good, no matter how much it writes or how quick it releases.
Yes, it is an infinite time sink and you will never see the end, but you will enjoy reading it.
    I would go for it.

    Uh not really.
For one, I will eventually grow tired of it.
I want to see am ending to all of it.
And not having problems pop up one after another just to keep it going.
Reading a mid size novel till the ending and starting a new ones is just perfect for me.

Honestly, a never-ending novel would work great with an MC that has a hub where he ends up after dying and from where he can visit other universes. Sometimes he ends in a cultivation world, other times in a scifi setting again another time in a fantasy setting and so on.

I don't mind authors reusing the same setting for future stories(I welcome it even if done well), but no thanks to a single unending story.

It'd be really good if it was consistent and not repetitive. Unfortunately most novels 2k chapters tend to spam the spam plot over and over again

Ah, a never-ending novel. You can find that in Martial God Asura. Over 2400 chapters translated and no where near completion
