a random question to translators

what i always wanted to know is that as you guys are always translating novels in which the mc always hides most of his powers so aren't you guys affected by that ??
i mean like translating ahead about 7-8 chapters and always hiding your true powers
when you got a busy day you just post a chapter that has been translated before to maintain the schedule and if your mood is good than revealing a inkling of your true power by releasing a double post ??

 

Its only logical for mc to hide their powers..

 

for me... no... i even got 12 translation chapter debt... and i still got 8 chapter debt of my original story...
i wish i got that kind of power but my enemy the procrastinate demon lord was a formidable enemy...
i always failed and succumb to the temptation of the demon lord...
and today once again.. i am procrastinating..

 

a super hero must always hide their true powers. people knowing how much power you have makes you less powerful. plus there is the element of surprise. if it is good enough for the demon king to say 'this isn't even my final form' then it is good enough for the mc to hide his power to fit in with the rest of humanity. celebrities sometimes try to blend in with the public, same concept.

Me personally? I'm a MTL with absolutely no and I mean NO motivation, I translate as I go and other than the first week put out a chapter every two even though my schedule is set for once a week. I don't read ahead as, don't you know how much MTL sucks? Reading straight from GT BT Systranet and others would make me hate the story. I'd rather read as I go and enjoy the challenge of figuring out what the story is saying and jotting it down rather than trying to figure it out then continuing to progress to the next chapters only to have to re-read the last few as I translate them over! Easier killing 2 birds 1 stone!

Though it probably would be benifical to my translation to actually read the actual chapter itself before translating but...That's a lot of work! It already takes me days to motivate myself and then days to actually produce 1 chapter. The first time I put out 4 chapters in a week and they were not the best quality at all (at least the first 2)
