In the latest few chapters of It's not easy to be a man after traveling to the future, the Main Character needs a reason to be strong, a compelling reason to obtain power. I was thinking, even if I were chosen to become an MC in a novel I wouldn't really have a true reason to be strong. Do any of you guys honestly believe in an ideal?
If I was in that situation I would want to be stronger not to die. Also living longer with higher cultivation sounds nice. But nothing noble or whatnot. Also if there is not internet I would want to occupy my time and I use to love fighting when I was a bit younger and wouldn't get in trouble when i fought.
My reason for gaining strength would be to learn to rip holes into space. Then I can connect to earth, have wifi and watch porn....
If that's an option I want to go into the future of earth and get all the novels/anime/manga I want then find a nice desolate world and enjoy myself.
I would probably do it to get girls or something. A relatively small harem sounds nice. Like 4-5 girls. And obviously after I have my harem my reason would change to protecting them.
Making your reason to get stronger just so you can live feels more like a survival thing than an ideal. In a xianxia like world the ideals for why you need to be stronger are plentiful I would think. Personally I would say that I would get stronger for filial reasons more than anything.
I need ma gun to protect ma family. I think the MCs of novels should see it more as an opportunity. Money works as the generally allowed expression of power irl, in a fantasy world strength would be the natural substitute. 'It'd be like walking around with a million dollars'. Nothing idealistic about my stance, simply no law for the outlaw. Some chuunibyou-powertrip shit.
in my opinion, traveling over the future is making yourself more stronger, depends on what motivates you to become more stronger.
I wanna travel throughout the past, so that I may see that I'm stronger enought to post what you have in your mind right now. and this was it.. hihihi does that prove that i'am strong to change the course of time in space?
Generally speaking, I wouldn't bother with being strong because I could invest my time better in other things. If I was in a setting in which death was really really easy to come by, and there were relatively easy methods to become strong though, I would become strong enough to not need to worry about dying.
