Hi friends. Is Qidan International going to get aggregated on this site? By that appear on the newsfeed for new chapters? I was over there and the site actually has quite a few books that I haven't seen on here. (Was quite exciting - more to read ;p) The site also doesn't have a forum and whats great about this site is talking about new story developments or even just griping over reused plot events. (I'm looking at you reused joining new Sect development.)

I think they haven't finished setting up RSS feeds..Not sure though because it still is in its beta phase.

yep tony has already addressed that, Qidian International is set up as a translator group, so all their works pop up.

you#d also be able to (no doubt) start Latest Chapter Discussions here, as it is already an established forum.

 

Seems to be a good start in the right direction... and yes their future will solely depend on how they monetize the viewership...

 

I actually hope they implement the same system as they have on qidian, paying by the amount of words. I don't mind paying for content as long as the quality is good and the speed of translation is fast. Paying by chapter motivates qidian/translators to keep a good pace in translation.

 

For the people giving NS hate.. Fuck off. Translate it yourselves.

Oh the pinyin, the pinyin.. Well they do it for names of people. Now maybe you guys are getting buttered up from translations like RWX who gave English names to every character in CD. However almost every single name I have seen from translations has been pinyin.. Titles.. Pinyin (with explanations for what they are and why they are doing it that way)..so screw off they posted one chapter of TTNH and didn't say king of hell Chu then they changed it. Blow off some steam and chill the hell out.

 

CD's characters had Western names, just transliterated into Chinese. RWX put them back.

 

Character names in CD always confused me, but it wasn't because they were Western. IET didn't just pick a bunch of random English names for his characters. He went with Irish/Welsh/Anglo-Saxon names, which is a *very* specific choice. I don't know why more people aren't surprised that a Chinese web novelist had a list of Anglo-Saxon names, that haven't been used in hundreds of years, ready to go. I have a degree in English and Classical Literature, and I can't whip out that many Anglo-Saxon names.

 

Wotan and The Morrigan, only important ones anyway

but i suppose one could argue that it's the most "traditional" place to pull names from, although he didn't pull out any from Arthur and his Round table. A lot of European culture is influenced by the scottish/welsh/english areas, especially after the fall of the Romans.

also, can you imagine a UC called Andrew, or something? "Call me An Meng"...........ffs
