So, I am writing (privately) an original story, but I have a really hard time progressing as much as I could, because I lack names for everything. Names for Kingdoms, Empires, Persons, Clans, the MC + family, cultivation techniques etc
As written in the title, I am looking for western names, not asian. As long as the name doesn't sound completely foreign, it is fine.

Thus, my request is for you to give me some names in this format:

MC: ZX BC

There are websites which generate fitting names for any era you want, it might sound silly but they are quite useful.
For example: Lawrence,Louis , Fleur, Annelise.
For techniques I would go for games abilities, ie Flaming Barrage

they are usually better than some random names and also there are all kinds of things you can think of that a generator doesnt, like a cultivation technique, what it does, what comes with it etc

IF You want real weird names like a orc or something so klingon names, since they Kinda sound "tough" also Read some Tales of the Reincarnated Lord since it is a western cultivation world also pick a culture, like as an example viking names, german like celts, picts whatever for some barbarian ppl in general or invaders, could also take techniques etc names from their mythology/religion

 

Depends on the region your fantasy novel will be based in. If it's in a Celtic setting, use Old Gaelic names. If it is an English setting, use Old English names. So on so forth.

Kingdom) Novgorod Empire (Ancient Russia) Queen's Land (Grand Britain) The Enlightened Kingdom (Spain with double monarch like when Aragona and Castlillia have unificated) The Free Union (France during the revolution)

 

I have not named any specifics, because the world will be built up in a way that will allow all kinds of things to be there

how do you mean as a cultivation technique? names from the bible, no, because I never read and don't possess one, so I don't know any.

 

well, it's my first post on nu but the subject interested me. i do studies in history so i will give some advice based on that ( the easiest way to have coherent name is often to use real life as base )
my first advice would be use a lot of Latin and some greek (because Latin was the language of the catholic christianity so every elits had to have some notions in ths language), because the litterature was mainly in Latin
First the lands and the kingdoms
lands are generaly named after the People who control the land : I am french so i will use the exemple of France (by simplifying a lot cause it will too long xD) During the Roman empire its name was gaul. during the end of the empire and after, tribes of germanic origins came and built kingdom in it. At some point an alliance of germanic tribes came and tok control of it building kingdoms ect. It was the Franks. The Gaul became Francia.
Now that you have your name for the land, you have to name your kingdom. Usualy kingdom can be named over two things : the people or the land. in France, the king was at first designated as Rex Francorum (king of the franks). It means than he rule over a people. But it can also mean that his power come from that people ( and originaly the franks did elect the king and it was sometimes used) so in 1204 Phillipe II Auguste change his titulature to Rex Franciae (King of France) meaning that he ruled over a territory, and that his authority came from god.
so to creat a kingdom, find a name to the people who are rulling over it and it's done

Then will come Empire. Empires for their part are not built upon a people or territory but upon an idea, an organisation of the world. In christianity, the ideal is The pope tu rule on spiritual matters, while the emperor ruled upon the temporal matters ( in fact they are always in confrontation). The emperor is the only ruler who is blessed by the pope and have some symbol unique to him (like the closed crown). so he think that every kingdom are under his rule (but kingdoms usualy tell him to go f*ck himself). empire will insist on the fact that its legitimacy come from a divine madate, so you can use holy in the name, like in holy roman empire. Beside let's talk about the roman part : the roman still has a lot of prestige and Rome is the center of the catholic world, so both the carolingian empire and the holy roman empire will represent themselves has the successors in direct line of the roman empire.
