So he uses the bags to bring in textbooks to study in the dungeon and acquire talents for them the same way he got Cartography?
I assume. Or he can just bring in random things to achieve the same result. A laptop to learn a typing, coding, puzzle solving, etc. talents.
Brings in language books and gians a linguistic skill? Anyways, it really should be books, laptop or equipment too learn a new skilll.
I don't know why this guy never uses the sword he picked up. He still has that doesn't he? Or did that girl run off with it? He acted like he was smarter than the thug guy at the beginning because he didn't know about the map, however, the MC knows there's a kicking talent and can assume there's a sword mastery talent.
Probably since he got the technique: ravenous wolf fist so using his fists is probably better then using a sword
Definitely, right now he'd just get basic sword skills that can't be compared to an advanced close combat skill. Sword doesn't mean much just because it's got a sharp edge.
I assume he's going near the end because each person can only fight once, so if there are less than 22 people left to battle he won't actually have to fulfill his quota to get the prize.
Interesting novel but like usual I just can't help but be disappointed when some random girl is introduced and the Author give a random explanation for her to get together and act all cute with the MC just to fill some check list quota... Also why isn't the MC trying countless random actions to get more talents? Like someone mentioned he doesn't even get the obvious ones like sword fighting or whatever. Even if using your fists would somehow be better than a weapon, there's no reason to give up on free stats. That's such a basic thing...
A sword is not just sharp. It's a tool. Is punching something going to do more damage than hitting it with a metal bat? Probably not and you're far less likely to harm your hands like the MC has continuously been doing. It's common sense that a sword does more damage than a fist and it has more reach.
Latest chapter mentioned he tried to shadowbox and it didn't work. combat actions require an enemy. that being said, he has a regenerating partner whom he can strike to deal HP damage to and thus improve his combat skills, while she can improve dodge and block. Likewise she can attack him and he can train dodge and block and yea, it is rather disappointing how little he tries to actually do. he stumbled on map making and then just stopped. Although now he finally got some books so he is finally trying to learn something Also, he has been informed IC about stat breakthroughs and from 2 hours of studying he managed to have a concentration breakthrough. So i am also surprised he didn't try pushups and the like. Heck he might even get a talent for exercising.
Right, combat ones wouldn't work, but other things like the mapping worked. So doing exercises like you mentioned, there HAS to be some kind of jump skill, right? Holding your breath or whatever. Maybe even some kind of meditation / cultivation lol... And I didn't even think about how they could have gotten around the combat restriction thanks to his immortal friend. (Probably because I thought the novel dropped down a couple of notches as soon as he rescued her and what happened after...)
Oh, I absolutely agree with you. I think it is really bizzare how little he did. Mapping AND pain resist both work. so why doesn't he grind them? why doesn't he grind limit release until he is at low hp and then go down the stairs? why not try meditate? why not try mental arithmatic? why not just fingerpaint on the walls? or paint in the cellphone? or try all the cellphone apps and games?
If it was something like an online game, like in VRMMORPG novels, then you'd have to weigh the benefits of leveling faster vs grinding and finding skills. (You could lose a lot of opportunities from not being ahead of the pack so to speak.) But the time is more or less stopped, or at least the progress is limited to one floor each day so there's no reason not to take as much time as you can.
It probably wouldn't without a specialized skill to complement it. Swinging a sword properly is far more advanced than throwing punches. Besides he could get disarmed so why not focus on what he has that's good? I'm sure he'll practice with it in the future. He did just start out and he's already using books. Can't expect the mc to have great meta knowledge on how this thing is to work. Give it some time to build up.
