Adventurers Guild Adventurer's Guild - Dmitri's Dungeon

Here are the links to the Guild, Dark Merchant, and Tavern.

Meet Dmitri, a self-aware Dungeon Core! His job is to (supposedly) train Adventurers, but people can also have fun! Being an Adventurer absolutely requires Dungeon delving!

Rules:

• Only those at Dmitri's Rank or lower are allowed to participate but the more people that join, the faster Dmitri Ranks Up and can allow higher Ranked Adventurers.
• The Adventurer will have to make decisions in a predetermined layout.
• There will be battles and riches!
• If the Adventurer completes the Dungeon, they will receive a wonderful prize and keep all of the items they found!
• However, if they lose, the Adventurer leaves with nothing new except shame while Dmitri gets more points and can afford better (and more dangerous) stuff.
• The faster he Ranks Up, the stronger he gets.
• (OOC: It might be best if you put time away since it can be from 30 minutes to even a couple of hours of play time. To help speed things along, make sure to have enough free time to quickly respond. This is more for the Dungeon Masters (me) that take time out of their day to help organize these events. Thanks in advance.)
• And please forgive the Dungeon Master (still me) for not being timely. Real life sucks.

Known Monsters:

• Demon Beetles: Rank F-E. Known for their sharp exoskeletons. They primarily use a charge attack and cause the Bleeding Status. Like to use groups. Weak to fire. Weak to being squished.
• Obsidian Beetles: Rank D. Sharp, yet fragile. However, they are stronger now and completely resistant to flames. Weak to blunt attacks.
• Onyx Beetles: Rank C. Incredibly sharp. No longer weak to Blunt Attacks.
• Demon Vines: Rank N/A. Currently lacks any sort of combat ability but it is used to force Adventurers to clear Monster Nests before moving on. Can increase the effect of the Bleeding Status. Weak to fire.
• Blood Vine Beasts: Rank F-E. An evolved form of the Demon Vines that take on the form of small animals. They have multiple thorns that can cause the Bleeding Status or make it worse. They are more resilient than the Beetles but are few in number. Can be found in Trap Rooms. Weak to fire.
• Bleeding Roses: Rank D. Flowers growing off of the Demon Vines or Vine Beasts. They can consume blood and spread hallucinogenic pollen to confuse prey. Weak to fire.
• Vampiric Sproutling: Rank C. A humanoid plant creature that sucks up the blood of its prey. They are a writhing mass of vines, so be careful if they transform. Weak to fire.
• BEWARE OF DUNGEON SWARMS! Dungeon Monsters in a Dungeon Swarm will be in a Berserk state and prone to aggressive actions!
• Blood Thorn Beetle: Rank D. An anomaly that appeared due to a Blood Vine Beast being devoured by a Demon Beetle. Exceptionally tough and dangerous. Capable of absorbing blood to heal itself. Weak to fire.
• Herculean Rose Beetle: Rank C. With a crimson flower atop its back, this monster is a beast that was let free to roam in the Dungeon for too long. It now has vines that can entrap opponents and suck their blood dry. Weak to fire.

Spoiler: Millie's Adventure

(Once Millie’s eyes settled, she found herself in a cavernous room with three separate paths. The air felt humid and the walls had moss. She could feel a humming sound from the right path and the center path had more moss than the others.)

(Millie pondered for quite some time. This was her first time delving into a live dungeon. She touched the walls, breathed the air, and listened to the smallest sounds she could hear.
Humming sounds meant monsters, while more moss meant slippery and unexplored. Millie didn’t know the better choice, both were new for her…and then, Millie decided to take the center path.)

(As Millie walked along the path, the moss started to get rough and eventually became sharp. The walls were now covered in this red sharp moss as Millie entered a room. However, something didn't seem right. There seemed to be two somethings of interest. One was on the left side of the room and the other was on the right. Both seemed to be tunnels leading further into the Dungeon)

"The moss is getting prickly..."

(Millie felt unsettled, but also a strong curiosity. She is an adventurer, adventures are what she's for. She stopped her step, looking around and once again touching the sharp moss. With a bit of thinking, she decided to investigate to the right.)

(Oh no! Bloody red Demon Vines unfurled into a curtain behind Millie barring her exit! She can only move onwards! The buzzing sound from earlier enters Millie's ears once more as she continued on! Finally, Millie comes to a room with four large black Demon Beetles in the center. The Demon Vines once again barred her path as she must defeat the Demons to move on!)

"Well, well... looks like similar to the games in my world, ya... I guess this is what those guys call a [Monster House]?"

(She calmly approached the center of the room and readied her dual daggers.)

(The Demon Beetles were only about the size of a regular person's hand, but their sharp appearance showed that they could lacerate the victim if they're not careful! One of the Beetles flew over at a fast speed directly at Millie's face!)

"Heh, as if!"

(Millie slashed the incoming beetle using the dagger in her right hand.)

(As the dagger and the Beetle's mandible clashed, a resounding clang filled the air. The other Beetles were put on the alert and rushed to the first's side. However, jarred by the collision, the Beetle was momentarily stunned, allowing for a decisive strike! With one Beetle down, the other three rushed over at once! One was heading for Millie's head while another was going for the stomach! But the last one was going around to attack from behind!)

(Millie accurately took out the Beetle going for her head and prepared to take out the one going for her back. Unfortunately, the second Beetle made contact and a foot long scratch appeared on her stomach. She grimaced from the shame and took her rage out on the third Beetle. However, she still needed to handle the last one.)

Millie has taken damage!

(Blood? Yes, the Beetle's attack made her bleed... and she grinned widely. Millie put her daggers in her item box and placed both of her palms on her cut stomach. She then transmuted her own blood to prevent further bleeding and at the same time formed a number of kunai before throwing them at the remaining Beetle.)

(The Beetle was unprepared for the long range assault and fell! The Vines curled back up and showed that there were two other obvious paths.)

"There’s no point in backtracking... might as well go to this way, ya~"

(Millie looked around to discover the Beetles being moved away by the Vines. As she observed her surroundings, she spotted a weird indention.)

(Millie ignored the strange indention and walked down the third path. Once again, the walls turned red and Vines stopped her from going backwards. She could hear more buzzing from in front of her.)

(Small scratches wouldn't be a big deal, but too many scratches wouldn't do Millie any good. She decided to clad her legs with [Mystic White] to slightly boost her strength and speed before she charged in to attack.)

(Before her eyes were ten Beetles, more than double the number of before. Before Millie had a chance to retreat, the Vines blocked her exit and forced her to take them all on.)

"Nice! Get over here all at once so I can kick you all at the same time!!"

(Her body spun as she threw circular kicks one after another. Her hands gripped the dual daggers while she spun around, slashing as well as kicking.)

(The Beetles couldn't get close and they fell one after another. However, they merely had to wait for the attack to stop before moving in. Learning from the others' defeat, six Beetles remained. Once Millie's attack finished, these Beetles charged forward.)

(Seeing the Beetles charging in simultaneously, Millie did a 360 front flip while extending both of her hands. She looked like a bladed jumping spinning top.)

(The Beetles may have had good instincts, but they were still far from intelligent. Millie's next attack managed to shave another four away. The last two Beetles had become cautious of coming in close.)

(Millie noticed how the Beetles were reluctant to get closer after her barrage. Realizing their behavior as an intelligent move, Millie pondered about what to do. She felt the risk wasn't worth it if she were to rush in, but she had no throwing weapon on her side. Her scarlet kunai are no more with her blood already dried. While thinking, she fixed her posture. Her foot stumbled on a Beetle carapace.

"Hey... Beetles have blood too, though it's not as much as big mammals, ya~"

(Then she tried to gamble on it. The Beetles' blood was transmuted into 3 needles as big as blow dart tips. Feeling confident and content she threw them one by one at the remaining Beetles!)

(The three needles flew through the air and one Beetle died instantly. The other was startled and managed to dodge the second. Unfortunately, it didn't dodge the last one. The last Beetle fell and the Vines curled away to reveal only one path forward.)

(Millie eventually saw a Door. This stood out since there have been only rocks and vegetation in this place. As she approached the Door, she felt that this was an important place.)

"Ya~ finally a civilized look after some hours of all untouched nature~"

(While she felt the sudden change as an obvious sign of something big, she couldn't wait to witness what will be there. Treasure? More Beetles? Beautiful scenery? With an excited heart Millie opened the door.)

(Inside the room, Millie saw a Beetle that was larger than the others she had seen thus far. This Beetle, about as big as an adult head, made a loud shrieking sound. The Doors slammed shut and Vines covered it in an instant. Six smaller Beetles flew over, three to each side. This battle looked to be tough, though there did seem to be various contraptions here. It seemed like a hall in a castle as there was a chandelier on the ceiling and tapestry on the walls. Two empty suits of armor stood beside another set of double Doors. Both of the armors were holding long swords at their sides. There was also a long red rug covering most of the floor. Could these items be of use? It also seemed that the Beetles were extremely cautious.)

(Millie was fascinated by the sight. As a person from another world, she didn't have any chance to experience things like these. Armors somewhat similar to but prettier than Rald's, carpet wider than the one she saw in the guild office, chandelier bigger than the one hanging on receptionist's ceiling. She almost forgot about the bugs... and became quite annoyed when her contemplation time got interrupted by their buzzing around.)

"Let me enjoy the room, dammit!!"

(She dashed forward at her maximum speed, going straight to the biggest Beetle in the middle of the formation.)

(The Beetle BOSS opened its mandibles wide, awaiting for Millie's arrival. The other Beetles took the chance to surround her on all sides.)

(Millie squatted low and recoiled upward. By using the force, she launched strong upward kicks to the big Beetle's underside.)

(Hit in its soft underbelly, the BOSS Beetle takes massive damage and is stunned while flying through the air. However, the smaller Beetles rush forward to attack. Millie suffers two hits!)

Millie has taken damage!

(Millie's plan hit right on the spot. When the smaller Beetles wounded her, she could take her own blood and throw scarlet kunai at the defenseless BOSS, disregarding the smaller mobs that swarmed her.)

(The BOSS is dead! However, the other smaller Beetles still remain!)

(The persistent Beetles kept attacking Millie and she was getting tattered by the second. But with a calm mind, she gathered her own blood and covered most of her skin with her transmuted blood. A new method of utilizing her blood, a scarlet armor. But because this one needed a huge amount of blood, she staggered out of dizziness. However, with this she didn't need to worry about the puny Beetles’ attacks. She prepared her daggers once more and calmly slashed the incoming beetles one by one.)

(Exhausted and put through the wringer, Millie managed to persevere to the end! She beat the Dungeon! A pile of Gold equaling up to 50 pieces, 2 Mithril Ingots, and a Flawless Aquamarine fell out of the ceiling! The reward! The Doors at the other end of the hall open and Millie can see the outside. However, the way she came in was still blocked. After grabbing her loot, Millie left the Dungeon successful.)

Small suggestion, post all of the stories of the participants here on this thread, people may get items and experience here, so it would be weird if nobody else knew where they got it.

Having the report of the adventures of each person that participate listed here would be good. Could be either on the first post like you did, or on individual posts.

I'm glad you enjoyed your trip Millie-chan! Keep on doing your best!

No, the whole story, like you put there as a sneak peak.

It's nice reading what everyone went through, as it may or may not have influence on the future stories that person posts...

However, doing it like you did is also helpful, putting the rewards in an easy to see manner is helpful for sure, but what I asked was to just put the story here once it's finished, kinda like we do at the receptionist's desk.

 

It's more like she is saying to post their adventure inside the dungeon here after completing.

We can include this that you wrote.

And maybe some comment about what the players thought of their run~

Spoiler: Alice's Madness

(Even with all of the background noise of the Tavern, the actions of the Hobgoblin stood out to Alice. She watched as Gabriel lazily Summoned a large set of double Doors. They opened to reveal a white outpouring of light as it seemed to consume her. When she could finally see again, she found herself in a strange cavern with two paths. The one to the left had buzzing sounds and the one to the right had dense scarlet colored vegetation.)

(Just hearing the buzzing sounds was plenty for her.)

‘Bugs? No way! I'll go to the right side! The red colored vegetation surely isn't as troublesome as that!’

(Alice skipped towards the right humming a happy song.)

(Alice went down the plant path and found herself surrounded by dense blood red foliage that sported sharp thorns. She eventually reached a small room that was covered in the spiny crimson plants and spotted something moving in the center of the room. The only problem was that it matched the color of the room as well, making its actions difficult to predict. Alice could finally make out the shape of something resembling a small rodent clambering over the plants. She looked around and spotted two paths that both had the intense buzzing from before. Suddenly, the way behind her was closed off!)

‘Ugh... The buzzing sound is coming from both the paths... I don't want to go there...Maybe this is a magical animal of sorts... I will cautiously approach this rodent and see if it can lead me to anything...’

(Alice slowly approached it while preparing her Ice Magic in case it jumped at her.)

"Hello? Can you understand me?"

(Unfortunately, the creature was not an animal but a mass of Vines! It made no noise as it charged at Alice! In such a close predicament, she had no choice but to somehow protect herself! But what could she do?)

"Agh!"

(Alice quickly channeled her mana through the air and tried to make a shield of ice via the water that resided within it. Normally she'd freeze the vines, but she didn't have time for that. So she instead made the shield hoping that it would stop the Blood Vine Beast... Sadly, the shield was thinner than she expected due to the surprise attack. Hopefully it would be enough to protect her.)

(The ice shield cracked, but held. The Blood Vine Beast seemed to be a small one. However, it wasn't dead. The Vines making up the Beast started writhe and move, making the creature appear to be convulsing. Then, a whip like tail with many thorns swung at Alice!)

‘It worked! Phew, that was so scary and... Another one!?’

(This time, Alice tried to move the cracked shield in the direction the attack was coming. However, since staying on the defensive was too dangerous, she also channeled her Mana to make ice spikes and threw them towards the incoming tail. Like this, she could be able to stop it before the hit connected with her shield.)

(Thankfully, the counter attacked worked. Of course, there was always a chance of hitting the tail, but that chance would increase with more attacks. The Blood Vine Beast was still alive, though it was visibly weaker. No, it was also smaller. It had used a part of its body to perform that attack, after all.)

‘Yay! It really did work! I can't waste this opportunity, I better finish off this beast before it can attack me again!’

Alice put her hand on the ground and channeled her power through it. She could see the ground freezing and the ice quickly moving towards the Beast. If everything worked properly, it would be completely frozen before it recovered from her last attack.)

The Blood Vine Beast was defeated! Completely frozen, cracks started to appear on the creature. Now with the immediate problem out of the way, Alice still had to figure out where she should go next! The path behind her was still blocked!)

‘Phew... I'm glad it worked...’

‘I can't go back and this wasn't really a clue... I can't do much with blood vines, so I guess I'll just leave it be, if it does get out of the ice, it will probably happen after I'm already gone from this room, so it shouldn't be much of a problem...’

‘Both sides have this annoying buzzing sound... I guess... I'll go right, the original source of the bugs was on the left side of the entrance anyway, so it might have less of them on the right...Hopefully.’

(Alice went down the right path while shuddering at the thought of finding bugs in that place.)

(Alice set off down the right path and found that the tunnel was extremely long. Yet, eventually, the buzzing died down after a certain point. Perhaps there was something around here?)

‘Oh, the buzzing died! Nice! This certainly makes things easier!’

‘Might as well take a look on what we have around here! Maybe I'll find some nice things!’

(Alice looked around and noticed a separate path. The vegetation seemed to recede and there were no bug sounds. At this point, the Vines came down and blacked the path behind her, making it impossible to return to the room with the Blood Vine Beast.)

‘Uhn... I have the path that I already was in which might lead to a boss room, but...’

‘Isn't this clearly a secret path!? There might be a secret boss or special treasures here! I'll definitely go through this one!’

(Alice happily skipped towards the new path thinking on what kind of treasures she'd find there.)

(As Alice went down this new path, she could eventually see a light. The room that she suddenly found herself in was pleasant. There were little Charms and Talismans on the walls that seemed to repel the creatures of the Dungeon. Yet, no matter how hard she tried, they refused to come off. She directed her attention to the large chest in the center of the room. Upon opening it, she saw a couple sheets of paper similar to the ones lining the walls!)

Alice has obtained:

• Fire Charm x 1
• Barrier Charm x 1

‘Yay! I'm glad I used the secret path!’

‘A shame those talismans do not seem to come off... I guess I have no choice except for going back to the entrance of this path and continuing through the way I was already going...’

(Putting both charms in her item box so that she can take them out in a necessity, Alice decided to go back around so that she could proceed through dungeon.)

(Unfortunately the path was blocked! Thankfully, there actually was another path!)

‘Ah! It's blocked... Then maybe I missed another path?’

(Alice went back a bit and searched until she found the way...It wasn't that hard to see it.)

‘How did I miss it in the first place!?!?’

‘Oh well, no use worrying about it! Let's go! Yosh!’

(She started following the new path in a good mood once she knew the secret path didn't end in just the chest.)

(Alice came upon a barren room with only two large wooden Doors. There was another path on the other side of the room, but it was blocked. Speaking of, the path she just came from was blocked as well. How annoying, Alice thought. If these Vines weren't in the way, she could have searched the Dungeon to her heart's content. Oh well. She looked at the Doors and wondered what she should do.

‘Well, if the paths are blocked then... I guess I'll just force my way through those doors!!!’

(Alice made a big Ice Hammer that was twice her size and swung it with as much strength as she could towards the Doors.)

"Go down stupid door!!!"

(As if in reply, the Doors opened before her hammer made contact. The attack slammed into the ground and alerted the Beetles in the next room. Six hand sized black Beetles with sharp appendages charged towards Alice while a larger one stayed back. Alice didn't even have the time to appreciate the room itself!)

"Gah! Why bugs!?!?!?

“Go die already you bunch of crazy worms!!!"

(Alice split the hammer into smaller ice spikes and threw them towards the 6 bugs.)

‘Please kill them please kill them please kill them...’

(With her massive wave of attacks, several of the Beetles fell with ice spikes coming out of their bodies. However, two still survived. This large attack forced the BOSS Beetle to now participate as well!)

"AAAAH!!! DON'T COME NEAR ME!!!!"

(As the smaller beetles came close, Alice threw a big block of ice towards them both, attempting to crush them, but she also fell on her back when she finally noticed the big beetle approaching.)

"Why did it have to be a bug...Stay...Stay away!!!"

(The two smaller Beetles didn't react fast enough to Alice's attack and got instantly squished, their bodily organs smeared across the ground in a disgusting greenish yellow color. However, the BOSS Beetle was able enough to deftly dodge the obvious attack. It zoomed towards Alice threateningly baring its mandibles.)

"FREEZE!!!!"

(Alice tried to freeze it, but nothing came out.)

‘Eh? Why isn't...’

‘Oh, I'm out of Mana... I forgot to take care about that when I saw the beetles and used a big spell for no reason...’

“SCARY! GO AWAY!!!”

(Alice turned around and starting running from the beetle as she didn't have much she could do against it without Mana.)

(However, it was faster than her and was slowly closing in.)

“Bad bad bad bad bad, don't go throwing crazy beetles at me!!!!!”

‘Oh, the charm! I have the charm!’

(Alice quickly took the Fire Charm and pointed it at the approaching beetle.)

"Go die stupid bug! Fireball!!!!"

(The BOSS was sure that Alice was out of power since she was running and not attacking. However, when the large ball of flame appeared in front of it, there was no chance to dodge. It was engulfed in flame and died without a chance. Suddenly, a pile of treasure appeared in the middle of the room.)

“Yay! I won! Phew I'm so happy that there are no more bugs here...”

(Alice goes through the exit after getting the treasure and happily enjoys her rewards.)

Dungeonering is fun though! I recommend it to anyone that is still E-rank!

Definitely fun!

 

I'm seriously getting tempted to create another character just to try this out...but I still got plenty of shit to write so...yeah.

 

Well, i may have to "feed" Dmitri if there aren't enough Adventurers.

But that's okay since I can easily find idiot humans from the West that get on my nerves...and I doubt they would be as capable as actual hunters and fighters.

Buuut that wouldn't be fair to just dump defenseless people in there so i would have to give them a reward if they also happen to win.

Hm...but what kind of reward?

 

Well, requiring 20 xp for the level up and getting only one per adventurer is a bit too much IMO...

IIRC, the current E-ranks we have are:

And... That's about it? Even if everyone participates, it will only get 10/20 xp, so... Maybe reducing it would be a good idea.
