*Raises finger*

"...We really didn't order any gourd. Please stay away from the children."

The gourd stared back incredulously.

 

*looks between the 2 of them feeling very troubled*

"Uhn... Gourd... Friend! Superhero!"

((*pukes blood at the like limit*))

 

The stare becomes even more deadpan somehow.

"A friend of yours? In that case, please tell him to use the door next time, okay?"

 

"But I did-"

 

"Then please try to avoid looking so shady when you knock next time. Shiori doesn't know how to differentiate between ruffians, thugs, perverts, and criminals."

The mini sized orphanage owner shrugged.

 

May happened to be walking by whe she spotted Jack."hero of children! It's you!"

 

"Jack not bad! Jack is... Protector of children! Divine duty!"

 

"...I'm not shady."

"I am-" he was acutely aware of the mermaid stare behind. "...please don't call me that."

 

The gourd felt that coming here was a tactical mistake.

 

"Hero of Children? Shiori sees...Shiori will keep in mind who to call for when Shiori needs to leave the kids under capable care in the future."

*Grinning*

 

"Yeeeah, just talk to Aria."

That said, he did a vanishing act by Darting away as fast as he could. Staying for too long cost too much sanity.

 

"B-bye!" *waves*

 

"actually, where am I!?"

.may had been exploring the city but she had accidentally taken too many wrong turns.

The cultist leader killed, their forces mostly decimated, their plan foiled... It was not a good day for them... But it wasn't for Nagrand either.

Buildings destroyed, even its biggest church falling to ruins, deaths all around... It would take some time to rebuild.

Luckily, people didn't give up and stayed sharp even after the main threats had died. Most leftover cultists were gotten rid of, thieves that tried to make use of the situation apprehended, and while many died... The worst outcome was prevented, the curse was released.

Now it was not time to rest however, it was time to move forward, time to go after the ones that caused this much suffering and end them for good, to stop them from ever doing this again. It was time to rebuild the town to retake its former glory... And it was time to mourn those that passed away.

Nagrand was not at its prime, but it was definitely not decayed, it needed to rebuild and start again, just like we always do when harmed... Persevere my friends, for Lord Ralditorias will guide you in your path forward, and never let you down, for as long as you don't let yourself down.
