It's not a proper antidote, it's mainly to help with strokes and relieve the effects of poisons from snake bites.

If it was an all-emcompassing cure all antidote like what you'd use a mandragora to make though? That'd be busted~

Just write a side story about it I guess~

It's more of a tool you can play with, but no staff would be controlling him. You're free to control how the fighting lesson would go~

He would technically not ask for a payment, but instead heavily imply a donation would be appreciated... >.>

As for how much, I'd guess around 5-15 Large Copper depending on how much he can help you~

After finishing up with Caligo, Ryul searches around the Guild and eventually finds Mary, the in-house healer, in a small staff room.

Arawn and Aconter leave after escorting him to the healer. Ryul greets Mary, briefly explains, and hands her the slip of paper from Caligo.

The Fallen Angel is more than surprised after hearing a short version of the story and gets started right away on the healing. She takes care of the fairly deep wound on his left side, the large gash on his right arm, as well as a myriad of other small injuries all over Ryul's body.

Mary sighs, "Well, I've nearly spent all my mana, but you should be mostly fine after a few days of rest. The problem is, I can only take care of your physical injuries."

She continues, "The corrupted Nature elemental energy in your system will require a specialist healer to fix; I'm more of a generalist healer."

Before Ryul could get too disappointed, Mary quickly adds, "BUT I do know someone who could help! Please wait!"

She turns around, goes to the desk in the back, scribbles down a letter, seals it in an envelope, then returns back to Ryul.

Mary exclaims, "Here. Take this letter, go to the Temple of Ophelia in Town, and ask for Sister Agnes. She should be able to help you out as her specialty is in healing with Nature magic."

They exchange a few more words after that, Ryul thanks Mary for everything, and leaves to head to the Temple.

After trekking through town, he arrives at the Maiden God's place of worship. It is a clean white temple with beautifully designed carvings in the columns and walls. Ryul also finds himself basking in the Nature elements emanating from all of the flowers, herbs, and other plants grown on the temple grounds.

It doesn't take too long, however, before he is interrupted.

"Can I help you, sir?" An elderly woman asks.

"Oh, I am terribly sorry. I was just amazed by the Temple's beauty and lost myself for a moment. Ah yes, I am looking for Sister Agnes." He states as he hands over the letter.

The older woman quickly reads it, gently smiles, and beckons him to follow her. She takes him to what he presumes to be Sister Agnes' office and tells him to wait outside as she knocks and heads on in first. After a while, the mysterious woman tells him he can enter and quietly leaves, never once having introduced herself.

Ryul goes in, exchanges greetings with Sister Agnes, and thoroughly discusses his issue. He even goes through the tiresome process of summoning Th'Kun, and she also examines the elemental's Nature energy, which turns out to be perfectly fine.

The white-garbed woman concludes, "Well, it looks like it is indeed a lingering effect of the red mist; it has corrupted the Nature element in your system and locked it away."

Ryul asks with concern, "Is there anything we can do about it?"

"There is. This residual infection seems to be very similar to Mad Plant Disease, so we'll go with a comparable approach in regards to treatment." Sister Agnes advises.

"Come here every day for at least 4 hours for the next two weeks to meditate in the Sacred Garden; the pure Nature energy here will work to counteract the corruption. During this time, the both of us will slowly work on unlocking parts of your Nature energy bit by bit each session."

The woman adds on, "Also, I'll write you a prescription for a small herbal mix that should enhance your body's natural production of Nature energy. Make sure you take it daily or the effects won't be as effective."

Ryul nods through her dizzying set of instructions and finds that the treatment process will take quite a bit of time from him.

"Mary said I can put all of this on Mr. Caligo's tab - is this true?" She asks while he nods. "Good. I'll write up an invoice for him later then."

The two talk a bit more until Ryul has to go. He then begins to prepare for his future ordeal *cough* treatment.

    . . .
A dozen bottles of bitter concoctions, countless mind-numbing meditation sessions, and two weeks later, Ryul finally completes his treatment with Sister Agnes and entirely clears his system of the residual effects of the red mist infection. However, there was an additional surprise at the end of it all.

The half-elf scholar found that after constantly manipulating corrupted Nature energy for two weeks straight, he is able to transform a small amount of pure energy into a more polluted form. Ryul is now able to use this artificially corrupted energy and pour it into a new spell that can alter a target's physical properties.

Ryul sighs as he reflects on the fact that this has been one of the longest two weeks he's had in a while.
    - Gets physical wounds healed (on Caligo's tab) from Mary

    - Gets treated for corrupted Nature energy disease at Ophelia's Temple (bill also charged to Caligo)

    - Obtains new basic Nature spell:
    Berserker Aura
    • Single-target enchantment spell using corrupted Nature energy
    • Lasts approximately 30s
    • Target's strength increases by 2x, speed by 1.5x; physical defense decreases by 2x
    • Target's Life Force and stamina are spent (30% for pure caster-types, 15% for melee types)
    • Target easily susceptible to mental, illusion and other Mindmaking magic (takes 4x more damage)
    • Uses 25% of current mana
    • Turns eyes unnaturally red

OOC: A nod to @Nahrenne 's SS. Also, is this okay, @AliceShiki ? (I've become more inspired by Nahrenne to put more details/limits on my magic.)

    Martin’s Miscellaneous Merch
[EXPIRED] Seeing his poor master injured hath left Martin in a bit of a tizzy. Terrified that his master will keel over and die from such *cough* egregious wounds, he feels duty bound to open up shop to make some money to pay for his master to be healed before he, uh, bleeds out or something, ya know? He'll be down a slightly less questionable alleyway this time as this is a serious matter! He still has to be kinda stealthy tho so, um, check down the second sketchiest alleyway? Anyway, as usual, he'll be around for 24 hrs and best of luck!

    Available Goods:

-Old Shoelace: A little dirty but still very sturdy. Not a lace from any old place! 5 sc

    - Small Alpaca Plushie: So cute! Must hug! 23 sc

    - A Mysterious Mushie: A mushroom of some variety. Might be something someone’s wishing he had at this moment… 11 sc

((I write descriptions of each item before they are put up for sale, so I figured I'd just post the descriptions that I wrote for whatever didn't sell last time just for funzies. (And so you can see what you missed out on hehe.) So here ya go!))
Old Boot: It’s, well, a boot a bit worn and lonely but still a boot. 1 large copper

This boot is no ordinary boot! Upon taking a closer look you realize that it’s the missing boot of that strange and lonesome scarecrow that chills in the middle of the river protecting goodness knows what. I wonder what would happen if you brought it back to him?

Upon receiving his long lost boot you swear you see the scarecrow smile. You turn to leave only to find a small, low-quality health potion laying in front of you with what seems like ~thank you~ written in pieces of straw.

    --------------

Bronze Dagger: Dagger. Bronze. Nuff said. 65 small copper

It’s just as the description said(for once). Seems to have a sharp blade and has a nice leather grip. Maybe you got a good deal after all.

Basic Medicine Making: Lesson #1 – Insect Powder

    Brief Description:
Insects have been used as medicine for thousands of years. It has been tested that insects are not only very nutritious but also beneficial in promoting the user’s health, especially their exoskeleton which are rich in chitin. Because of the insects’ unpleasant appearance, medicine makers dry and crush the insects into powder. That way, consumers can use the powder without subconsciously worrying about what it was made out of.

    What is Chitin?
Chitin is a fibrous substance that can also be found in the shells of crabs, shrimp, lobsters, and other shellfish. When consumed, the chitin has been tested to stimulate the immune system of the consumer, relieve pain, lower cholesterol, thin blood, and boost recovery.

    General Steps:
    1. Sun dry insects, especially poisonous ones as it will remove or at least lessen the effects of the poison.
    2. Once dried, crush until the insects turned to powder.
    3. If you used poisonous insects, you may need to mix the powder with a diluted mix of antidote and water to make a caky, doughy substance in order to further lessen the efficacy of the poison.
    4. Let the mixture dry in the sun once more before crushing the final result into powder.
    5. Distribute the powder in 1 gram dosages.
Note: Careful not to take too much and limit dosage to maximum 3 doses as it would not be beneficial any more and could cause problems.

    Uses:
    Different insects have different uses.
    Some examples are:
    • Centipede/Chaurus powder can be used to stop stroke spasms and relieve poison in snake bites.
    • Grasshopper powder can be mixed with ash and water to form a paste which can be applied on the forehead to relieve migraines.
    • Cricket/Silkworm powder is high in proteins and other nutrients. They are mixed with food to provide consumers the necessary dietary supplements.
    • Black ant powder is rich in vitamins and can not only stimulate the immune system, but also act as an antioxidant.
    • Roach powder can counter indigestion and can even reduce fever.
    • Ladybug powder can be used to act as a painkiller and is usually used for toothaches.
    • Oil beetle powder, when consumed, acts as an aphrodisiac.
More uses of insects in medicine will be introduced in later lessons.

Congratulations on completing Lesson #1 of Basic Medicine Making. Once you attended and completed all lessons under Basic Medicine Making, you will acquire the “Basic Medicine Making” skill.

    Brief Description:
Bones have been used as medicine for thousands of years. It has been tested that consuming bones not only promotes bone health, but also beneficial in promoting heart and nerve health. Because bones are harder to consume, medicine makers dry and crush the bones into powder. That way, consumers can use the powder with ease.

    Why use Bones?
Bones are rich in minerals that not only strengthens bones and teeth, but also helps with heart muscle and nerve transmissions. There are two main minerals. One of them can improve stability of the body and the other can promote healing and growth. Both minerals help boost kidney functions.

    General Steps:
    1. Sun dry the bones.
    2. Once dried, shatter the bones.
    3. Sun dry once more.
    4. Crush the shattered pieces into powder
    5. Distribute the powder in 20 gram dosages.
Note: Careful not to take too much and limit dosage to maximum 3 doses as it would not be beneficial any more and could cause poisoning.

More uses of bones in medicine will be introduced in later lessons.
