    Oh, I actually thought the same, about making better stuff costing more and more resources...

    But well, even if crafting a magical item costs a lot of resources, we don't plan on stopping people from finding magical items in their own quests, so... It depends on them in the end.

    It's still an overall free system though, we tried not restricting things too much after all.

    Well, truly powerful artefacts and spells could require specific stuff found only in some places.
    You cant find dragons heart lying on the road while traveling.
    Youll need to rip it out yourself~
    Or pay someone to do so for you.
    It may not need specific quest or something, but maybe you visiting location or performing ritual depending on nature of item.

    It would be a bit too hard to control this kind of thing, and deciding what kind of item is "too strong" would be too arbitrary and would feel too much of an excessive enforced control IMO.

    I will just trust people to understand those things are supposed to be very very rare and stuff, so they'll avoid getting them willy-nilly... If they don't... Well, we'll just have to deal with it I guess?
    I'd rather not enter into those details, especially because things are still somewhat subject to changes. Wait until it's live I guess~

    Oh, I meant more like "if you want to craft D rank artefact, youll need at least 2 D rank resources. This kind of stuff. More powerful stuff needing more and more ofc, but that would be at the players discretion.

    That would need creating a comprehensive list of resources players can gather and assign ranks to them... I mean, sure, we did work on some resources already, but players can always create new stuff.

    And well, even if they do need some stuff to craft the item, someone can always find the item out there, which well... Requires no resources at all... >.>

    But yeah, regarding crafting we do have a decent idea to restrict people from making OP stuff easily at the very least~

    I don’t know why...but the first thing I thought of when you said finding magic items in quests is a character that’s absurdly lucky at finding rare, powerful weapons, but doesn’t recognize them and this discards the as useless junk.

    Hmm...As for the talk about having a functioning system...NPCs are a rather important topic.

    I would assume we will be able to make our own NPCs, again with common sense applied (aka a player shouldn't randomly run into some exiled princess or an all powerful Magi or something) but given the setting, we'll definitely need more than one currency. In that case, would it be fine to make up our own forms of exchanging? (E.g. Bartering, trading, exchanging favours, etc...)

    We're trying to keep things simple currency-wise because managing many different currencies would be a hassle... >.>

    And yeah, you should be able to create your own NPCs, no worries about that~

    Gold is universal~
    You could always calculate by weight and purity of coins if you choose to do something like exchanging for curency of different country.

    iie, not that kind of currency. I was referring to something like this.

    Player makes own NPC, in the setting the two of them are friends. Not close enough to give each other free stuff, but just friendly enough to trade favours (e.g. run a small errand in exchange for a small favour/a specific item).

    Now, obviously this would be rather convenient, but it could also become really easily abused. Why? Player needs to find something, the NPC happens to have one, and then they trade: The item for a favour. And then they forget all about it. Plot armour, essentially.

    Well, from the way I see it, when goods are exchanged, a trade happens. And when something physical is used to settle the process, it counts as currency.

    We can probanly get justabot to function as a shop and a account/bank to keep track of currency and other stuff of a player. He can probably act as certain special npcs too
