TBF, I've already accepted I need to highlight most of Haxa's posts...

That dark red is barely readable in the dark theme. If I didn't had my light on (and didn't shoved my head right next to the screen), it would be actually unreadable...

 

I really should make a thread on the Tutorials and Resources dedicated solely to showing which colors are okay and not okay to use... >.>

 

Only the middle colours are acceptable unless you want to scar people or run out of colours.

Well it's fun to sometimes mess the colors on purpose~

 

Not really, This is unreadable and so is this, meanwhile this is pretty readable, just like this~

It depends a lot more on the color you chose than the position in the pallet... But yeah, the middle colors are the safest ones.

 

Which are they supposed to be unreadable on? Cause they are perfectly readable on light theme? So long as I have everything set up properly at the distance which I generally read things.

 

Summon the Color Gods and do it!

But, to be fair, I think very little people use the dark theme, so I see little problems with the dark colors, other than personal annoyance.

On a side note, not all dark colors are inherently bad in the dark theme. Black is fine in the dark theme, since it's strong enough to be readable, so there's that.

 

The first two are absolutely horrible to read on light theme and I need to strain my eyes a lot to read them... Not totally impossible, but damn hard to do it.

SO long as I have everything set up in my "normal" circumstances So the screen is about an arms length away from my shoulders and resting upon my lap it's perfectly fine for me to read it. If I move it to where I find it most comfortable I have 0 problems reading it.

 

Yellow is evil. Teal is barely acceptable tho.

Ikr? Yellow in general is a terrible color that you should avoid when making design of... Anything.

It's too blinding in some backgrounds and too hard to read in others... >.>
