I already saw some of those, they usually die when the GM disappears... >.>
Then they failed... You could have players do EVERYTHING \o/ Except maybe managing plot/overall progression >.>; Never gonna trust random internet strangers with that.
Online RP games usually fail because it depends on one person, or a small group of people to do too much work all the time, which makes them get burnt out.
The only way for one to last a long time is if its only played like once or twice a week at most, and to keep the number of players low so everyone can be on at the same time. Other than that, it just takes a very devoted GM with absolutely nothing but time on their hands to keep one running for awhile.
Well, even if players do everything, it can still fail if the GM disappears, because like...
I guess it's just natural to rely on the GM to get things going, and to push things forward, even when the players are in theory equally capable of managing everything~
Rushi has nvr been an active GM
The active GM role is just passed ard a lot until theres noone tht can take it up
Wat abt the academy?
If you're talking about NUF Private Academy, I don't think it was ever considered an actual RP until it just...became one. At the very least, there's no sense of formality or power-scaling there, nor quests and such. Hence not needing a GM. LivingCorpse was basically there as a punching bag and to steal their gunpla.
So in the end it died to lack of GM too! XD
Basically what Fossil said, the Academy was never a properly organized Roleplay. It was very similar to the Coffee and Tea Lounge.
We kept using it up until the point we stopped using it... There was no clear reason or whatever, I guess we just ran out of ideas about what to do.
Isnt it the aim of the mini rpg tht keeps popping up
But none of those seems to last too
Coffee shop died too
From time to time it revives! \(^^)/
Coffee always felt more like a gathering spot than an RPG
Academy was always pretty spontaneous. We were pretty much winging it most of the time. It still revives quite often
Why can't it be both!? \(^^)/
Aye! It was really a lot of fun and very spontaneous~
This place is dead too huh...
*pat pat pat*
Other places like this?
It's well made. GMs are thee because players are unreliable.
No clue, there was a game going on in Scribblehub a while back, but it died down a few months ago.
I don't have time to try reviving this or creating a new version, so... Good luck finding something.
I hope I'll still see you around in other games.
P.S. I play mostly word games
From time to time I participate (or host) in Kingdom Royale Games, and in rare occasions I also play Mafia games.
The kingdom royale game seems difficult however if you do host any of these games you listed can you give a heads up? I want to get involved in NUF more. Thank you.
It's not that difficult, here is a very quick resume:
The game is divided in 2 phases, day and night.
During the Day, you can talk to everyone publicly, stab them, and choose someone to talk to during the night.
During the night, you can talk to people privately, stab them, and use your role super powers.
Role powers usually involve killing someone, or being harder to kill in some form~
The game ends when everyone alive completed their win conditions~
And that's basically it. It's really not that complicated. The rulings are big just to detail most interactions that might confuse people.
And sure, I can poke you, I was planning on hosting a new game soon anyways~
Ah, and you can also follow @KR Bot and @Mafia Bot for news on those games. You'll get an alert whenever someone decides to host them.
