"Oh, almost getting stabbed, settling the dead, visiting an... acquaintance..." Yane yawned, "Same old things as usual."

 

"Oh my," Arawn blinks. "Seems like you have quite the exciting life if that's normal."

 

Yane let out a laugh.

"You could say that."

 

"You must have lived a pretty sheltered life if you think so.
That's pretty much everyday around here"
Rei quipped as she drank from her tenkard.

 

"Oh? I don't think we've met," Arawn says to the stranger. "My name is Arawn, and it's a pleasure to meet you."

"Well, as long as you don't die, I suppose a bit of danger isn't too bad," Arawn laughs.

 

"Well, when things go as planned, I tend to cause more of the dying and do less of it."

 

Arawn breaks out into a strange, nervous laugh at this statement.

"And what if things don't go as planned?" he asks.

 

"Oh.
how rude of me, allow me to introduce myself.
I am Rei, currently a D rank adventurer and a former mercanary.
The pleasure is all mine, Arawn."
Rei extended her hand for a handshake.

 

A dark countenance settles on Yane's features.

"Things go as planned."

 

Arawn shakes the small oni's hand.
"So how long have you been an adventurer, Rei?"

Arawn silently notes to not get on Yane's bad side. "That's... nice. The best surprise is no surprise."

 

(~^.^)? May nodded, not really thinking much about it.

 

"Hmmm, around a little over two months I think?
Well, how about you?"
Rei replied while slowly tightening her grip over Arawn's hand, feeling out the muscles on his hand.
It was a basic method of checking out a person's strenghs and skills.
"Two large blisters on his index and middle finger, 4 small blisters on his palm but in reverse order, and rough skin shafed by leather or Lenin.
Probably A bow and dagger."
She mumbled something to herself under breath.

 

"Oh, it seems that I joined a short while after you did," Arawn answers. He doesn't quite catch what Rei said. "Hm? Did you say something?"

 

Rei cursed herself for falling into her old habits again.
"Then that makes you my junior.
Here, have a drink. It's on me."
She slides the mug Bill put on the counter in front of her towards Arawn.
"Oh it was nothing important, I just noted you have the arm of an archer and a knife user."

 

Arawn starts in surprise and looks down at his right arm. "You could tell? That's impressive..."
He picks up the mug and sips slowly at it.

 

Rei laughed, hitting the young man on the shoulder with a bit more strength than she should
"Hahaha, well I haven't been doing martial arts for years for nothing.
Archers have unique hands, you won't find those kind of blisters on any other weapon users you know?"

 

Yane, overhearing the conversation and taking interest, interjects while thrusting his palm out to Rei.

"Well then, Miss martial artist. Go ahead and read my palms while you're at it, too."

 

Arawn winces at the hit from the deceptively strong girl.
"I suppose that's true... Do you use any weapons, Rei?"

 

"No, I fight with my bare hands.....not literally, because I use armguards and leg guards but you get the point"

Rei looked at the interjecting person and said "I am not a fortune teller you know. This is just an habit I can't seem to get rid of.
Oh well, just this once I guess"
Rei grasped the newcomer's hand and studied his muscle build and palm skin.
"Well well, now this is a rare sight.
A scythe user? You have weird tastes.
Nothing wrong with it, but it's not the most practical weapon around.
Well, I am not one to talk though, I faced Soren only with my fists and some armor."
Rei cracked a wry smile as she remembered the spar with the head priest.
"I faced a scythe user only once in my past, and he was a troublesome opponent.
Well, any weapon would work in the hands of a master"

 

As Grendel walked in to the tavern, he spotted a familiar face among the crowds. As he approached her, he saw two other person besides her, one of them having his hand hold by Rei.

"Hello, Rei. What are you doing?"
