    What does this sentence mean?

"A psychologist faces huge problems at home and begins to unravel, leading to an unexpected chain of events"

Hmm since "unravel" is being used in the intransitive form, I'm guessing it means the psychologist's mental state is falling apart or breaking down.

That, or the said psychologist just have enough of his job and starts marathoning Tokyo Ghoul again and forgets all of his responsibilities for the remainder of that day.

So is it something like the psychologist is having a mental breakdown?

Maybe after all the time preaching to others, they find their own problems and realize they're a hypocrite?

I agree with the others. That sounds about right. The only other possibility is maybe the psychologist home life is falling apart

More like after looking out for other people's problems and involving too much empathy in their work for so long , their own problems (most of them do know themselves) just getting glaringly clear and starts eating them from inside out.

    (6) How do psychologists/psychiatrists deal with their own mental problems? - Quora

It's sad that this problem was waay too much of a common issue among mental health practitioner.

Thank you very much to everyone. Ai-chan would offer banana cake, but by the time it reaches any of you, it would've likely rotted in transit.

Typically, they use up all their empathy on their job. So coming back home, they hope to get some of that from those at home which is not always possible. They have a tough life.

I've heard it's pretty common that over time, psychologists start to analyze everybody around them. Like that saying where if you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail. The psychologist start second guessing everything people say, thinking there must be some underlying reason for this and that. This often causes a rift between the psychologist and their family and friends, especially when the psychologist start insisting on telling them that they have issues.
