Sigh... I'm really conflicted right now because I know they had done the right thing to ask for permission and we have no right what-so-ever to be angry at them because they are not hired translators BUT this is one of the best novel I have read in such a long time and what they are doing now is simply destroying my or any other non-Japanese speaker a chance to finish this since I doubt anyone would step up and translate this because the author has explicitly said he won't allow it. With this we will be left with an unfinished project, a hole that can never be filled. As I had said above I'm really conflicted right now, mainly anger and disappointment. Anyway just wanted to vent a little I'm sorry if it bothers you but I'm having an extremely bad day
Yep its officially stopped for good of translator and author. Its only around 50 chapters left and with release speed of translator this story will end next tear, a pity. As selfish as i am, i hope a bold translators will take this project, i wish
Really now we both know that would be impossible unless it either the the translator is a total mass of shamelessness or he/she is a total newbie
Well we can try put this novel on novel pickup request later to give it a try or asking raw of this novel to privately translated and distributed as epub
Ah that would work but we need to find a translator first and really the Novel Pickup Section is not that helpful just look at all those unresolved requests lol
Lol thats true but this novel is quite popular so its not that hopeless. Well if you want to satisfy your curiousity you can try to find the raws and mtl-ed it, in excange for your fried brain later
That's the only option left to me at this point. I think I can handle a little brain frying if its at least 50 percent readable Just curious but why did they contact the author in the first place? Is that common among translators?
Dunno, i can speculate some reason but maybe you should looking on their announcement tag post on their site for first hand information though
I already read it after coming here but I never saw their reasoning for asking the author. I just read that at the beginning of the last chapter since I started reading it in the middle of December I don't mind if you speculate away
Imo translator want to keep in touch with the author since they (and us) are fond of his work and let him know. Similar case like ck talon (translator of tmw and absolute choice) who have good relationship with both authors.
what we do is basically illegal and the japanese can be very shy people. most of the time, it doesn't even work and they have no reason to give a fan translator a go ahead.
Yes thats true And if the author really give his permission to translator, most likely it will sparks conflict between author and publisher
exactly. even if the author wants to, he can't. Don't know why so many web novel translators think they are different from fan manga scanlators which is also basically illegal. just be smart and keep it on the down low.
Sad to see this series go. Its one of the best things being translated and one of the few things I was finding interesting enough to read lately. I was expecting to come back to like 2 or 3 chapters that I've missed. Instead I get...this...Funny how that sorta worked out in exactly the worst way possible... I don't see why translators bother initiating the conversation tbh...authors pretty much never give the green light to go ahead from my experience, so whats the point in even asking if we know the outcome to begin with? *sigh* its too good a series to just drop entirely tho. I might as well brave the 50 chapters worth of brain damage through a machine translator.
