I just tried watching this movie on HBO and I had to stop around 5 minutes into it. It’s so bad and I can’t take it seriously. The actors feel super cringe. They didn’t put any heart in it. The robot doctor and his assistant treated the movie like a joke. They sound like their trying not to laugh when they talk to Alita. The guy sounds like a super robot pedophile. Alita also sounds kind of weird and her cgi is crap. Her fighting posture also looks stupid when she saves the dog. That’s when I dropped it. Her male love interest was to annoying for me to keep watching. The guy looked like he would be lucky to get a low budget sci fi or horror film role. The things they talk about sound like gibberish. This is a billion times worse than Avatar. I just lost all hope in James Cameron’s next Avatar movies. This guy can’t even direct a turd into a toilet.
oh, that crap.....it's was the first time i ever played a movie at 16x speed (i was falling asleep at normal speed) to finish it fast because i got curious why it's got high votes(imdb 7.3).......i was disappointed
I dunno, at least this movie have real character progression and some moral. The script feels fresh enough. Hugo is a retard thought.
This is old news. Have you been living under a rock? I don't get why they don't adapt shows line Cowboy Bepop that actually has American characters. Tom Cruise's Edge of Tomorrow did well but that's an anomaly and the book wasn't that popular
It's cause they did. They took three different arcs from the original manga and jammed them all together. Apparently they didn't think they'd get the greenlight for a sequel? But their efforts to jam it all together ensured it would be crappy enough that there wouldn't ever be a sequel...
There are worse movies that got sequels, and worse movies with sequels planned.... I liked the manga for this when I read it, but it's one of those stories you need to take your time going through, skimming it turns it into garbage, it makes no sense when you try to summarize the arcs. It might have worked if they had left it as three or so movies. Crime thriller with Ido hunting the slasher, raising Alita, and then she becomes a Hunter, maybe she gets her boyfriend to stop being a criminal; that could have been a whole movie. Expand on the skycity stuff over the next couple movies. They BvS'd it by putting it all in one movie, shoving BattleBall in there too. Edit: shouldn't have been any Martian stuff, outside of vague foreshadowing
