    So recently i just decided to browse through the horror tag, and after sorting by highest rating, it seems that the majority of the large quantity of Chinese novels with high ratings are either yaoi or shounen ai or both. Come to think of it, practically every highly rated chinese romance novel seems to be yaoi for that matetr. Why? Am i missing out on something? Should i read one to try it out?

    lol, last time I answered this question, I got downvoted so hard on Reddit. but I am going to say it again. try to avoid Chinese web novels if you want to read horror, especially with the recent Chinese government trying to crack down on "unrealistic" stories.

    I just prefer the writing style in chiense novels nowadays, the japanese writing style always feels a little whimsical and korean novels have a strange feeling to them. Also, i just got out of binging my house of horrors, so yeah

    Nah its just the fujoshis rating everything tagged bl 5*.
    Dont trust ratings, ranking and to a lesser degree reviews on nuf. They (especially ratings and rank) mean jackshit at best.

    some are trully good, for me, I would always read the bad reviews rather than the good one, if somehow it's true then I wouldn't be surprised when I tried to read one...

    + it is mostly shounen ai and actually centered around the plot.

    Oh and not to forget! It's not >>Harem<<. Which is the best :D

    I'd say you can try one for example(Kaleidoscope of Death), it's got interesting plot dunno, if it will be scary enough for you though. Also, Lord of the mysteries has some horror elements (not a lot, it's more on a mystery side) you can read this one too.

    When the lurker posts their first post, when they were found out and made to participate in the community...
    I had a total of zero posts for all of 2016 and half of 2017 as I just used to lurk. I then "retired" from lurking coz @Shem found me and well I am an active member here now.
