So I just read GE - Good Ending and was less than amazed with the ending. It was a roller coaster ride that ultimately left me unsatisfied and depressed so I'm looking for something fun, upbeat and lighthearted that will wash it all away. I tend to avoid Shoujo and Josei and I don't read Yaoi. Yuri I'll touch occasionally but I'm not a huge fan of. It should go without saying I don't want tragedy. Please help, even if you think I've read it before I have been away from manga for a number of months. Thanks in advance.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. It's amusing and every time you think you know where it's going, it veers off somewhere nutty. They made a good anime of it too.

Slice-of-life comedies with a tinge of romance might be a good antidote. Try:

    - Working!!
    - Gin no Saji (Silver Spoon)
    - School Rumble
    - Mangaka to Assistant to

You could also try romances that actually do work out well. Let me see... the less well-known ones include:
    - Little House with an Orange Roof.
    - Yume de Aetara
(These two ones above have josei artstyle, but seinen content.)
    - Mahoraba
    - Living Game

Or I also think sometimes sports manga can be pretty upbeat:
    - Hajime no Ippo
    - Eyeshield 21
    - Slam Dunk
    - anything by Adachi Mitsuru (sports, slice-of-life, romance)
