To all the people who said there wouldn't be a paywall in qidian, go to their site now. You can now buy spirit stones with money similar to how you EA does it. Honestly if this is it then I would be fine but that's exactly what I said when they introduced advanced chapters for ads and spirit stones. And now its a currency. Mark my words, soon you won't get a fraction of the spirit stones you get now for spirit stones and you will be forced to pay if you want to read advanced chapters. After that all chapters will be behind a paywall but they will try to be the good guys by saying "Oh you can unlock multiple chapters for the same amount of spirit stones". Bullshit.

I already hate Qidian for making translating some sort of elitist thing. Used to be anyone could translate and the community would support them. Now if you are not affiliated with some big names then forget about translating. Fuck you Qidian for ruining the translating scene. I saw a translator quit entirely because the coorporate atmosphere Qidian is bringing.

Im alright with qidan so far. Biggest pet peeve is that we re forced to watch an ad to read something for some novels,(althou i usually just let it run and do something else). I can understand why people work for them since they get paid, and the ads help them when most of us block the ads on other sites even thou some will ask us not to

 

The adwalled chapters is like waiting another day not that big of a deal also it does not freeze your browser on PC at least so you can do something else

 

Adwall, Spirit stones, Pay per view, VIP.

 

Isn't this inevitable? Like how Microsoft ended up need money and paint getting removed, we are living in a world run by money. And no one is more of a money grub than Qidian.

 

I am learning to read chinese myself and am taking tutoring classes, because that would be faster then dealing with Qidian adwalls.

 

These novels were always a business. Even the "free" translators accepted donations and added incentives. Money is to be made. This is real life and ppl gotta eat and expand their business.

Isn't this what most websites do? Like dramafever requires you to have a subscription to be considered a premium member and watch some dramas/episodes. They also have ads that'll play in the middle of episodes if you're watching for free. This isn't anything new. You're already reading somebody's work for free... if you don't want to pay money, then deal with it and move on with life.

 

Hai the problen is not the money. You will know if you were there before Qidian came. There was so much innovation and positivity here which Qidian kills off. Now that it is a buisness, Qidian will try to suppress "competitors" and that's what Qidian has done and why we hate it.

Is ok... If they do that we jsut wait a month or two? For pirated version to come out... where the pirated severs will earn more money from ads than qidain earn from pay walls which will eventually make them shut down or take the pay wall lol...
I mean look at their main domain site where you need to pay and other "free" severs I used to read MTLs when ibam bored...

You can see how micro transaction can ruined stuffs
Example : evolved and a game similar to maple....
I mean even inGTA people use "mod" in stead of ingame purchases...

For me, it's not a big deal if there will be an ad. You can use ss or watch ads. Ez to get ss just by logging in daily and inviting accounts. watz da problem
