    Is it tenchi muyo war on geminar? Each episode is 40 minutes it has 13 episodes and it's new then 2006?

    the first colorful mecha that came to mind was, zegapain >.<

    other that i can think of that a bit longer runtime per episode than normal were
    macross plus ~ 4ep, 40m
    macross zero ~ 5ep, 35m
    sakura wars saga ~30minutes/ep
    The Wings of Rean ~ 6ep
    gunbuster / gunbuster 2 (yeah, its a bit old, but perhaps you've seen the newer, higher quality rip)

    maybe you can squeeze out some more, like the color of the female mc's hair for example, or maybe a pet, villain, story plot, anything.

    only two i could think of are macross and Vandread, vandread should be around that 2006 mark though
