    I think it was called "angelic layer", made me want to get into prosthetics, but I failed physics so I couldn't go to uni to study mechanics for a biomechanical degree.

    also, I guess it kinda counts, but after binging on the entire series of lelouch, the final episode ending had quite the impact on me too.

    Ergo Proxy (Gothic [as in the theme], philosophy, scifi-fantasy mix, romance)

    This anime makes you think. Not like a mystery anime where you try to guess who did the crime, no, more like "what the fuck just happened in this episode, what have I witnessed". It's great.

    Eureka 7 (Scifi, romance)

    I can't say enough about this one honestly. I could talk forever about the romance or character development--there's 50 episodes of it--but the way they portrayed race is uniquely great. They have black characters but isn't like "aha he's black and that makes him unique because he's not Asian" etc etc, there's blacks and Caucasians (and Asians of course) and they all fit together nicely, the creators don't emphasize their race like you see in other anime.

    Gosick (Gothic [as in the setting], mystery, romance)

    Meh, just a personal favorite of mine. But unlike in Eureka 7 the author makes a clear distinction between the races

    The underrated triad honestly

    Astartes toy.I was too young,too dumb to realize how shit it was and that my immature psyche was affected by it.I have a big aversion towards the tsun tropes and many things related now.Honestly its disgusting.

    Cowboy Beebop
    .hack//Sign - probably the one anime which had the longest lasting impression to young me.
    Durarara
    Steins;Gate
    5 centimeters per second - still the best ending of all time for me
    Hyouka - i am curious (has a dedicated translator group trying to perfectly portray the ln to english in as beautiful way as possible like the original)
    Spice and wolf - bite sized commerce story left me wanting for more, so much more.

    Beelzebub? Or HotD? Dunno, but beelzebub and hotd is the first anime i manage to download 7 years ago...

    If we can say it got a big impact to me, it's probably ao no exo and angel beats after my friend lend me the complete set of it...

    I loved the series so much more than pokemon. the shows had real plot to them, catchier music. I am STILL pissed that pokmon took off and not digimon. I miss renamon and the lil' red dino too :p
