Hi everyone! I just watched a bunch of Anti-hero MC anime, read some novels and freelanced around the internet with Anti-hero MCs. I realized I like that genre. Popular examples: Light Yagami, Lelouch Vi Britannia My requirements: - Anti-hero MC (Must) - The MC must have a motive, not because "I'm bad cuz I'm a wannabe" I don't want shallow MCs (50/50, if the MC is just driven to do bad like some people are driven to do good, I'm okay with it) - Something with a large scale destructive motive - Intelligent MC (Must) Sub-requirements: (Not really necessary) - Women shouldn't be used as objects, easily I don't want any romance either. (Actually, I really don't want romance.) - Humans can be used as pawns though, I don't mind. - The MC must be capable of masking his true intentions, be cunning. But most importantly, IT SHOULD BE JUST ACCORDING TO KEIKAKU!

I have got some nice ones for you then Overlord (you should have at least heard of this. Also i recommend watching the anime as it adds more excitement than the novel) Warlock of the Magus world These 2 are the best. Also Revered insanity is already recommend so only a mention for it will do
Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? should meet your requirements. The MC is not particularly good or bad. But she's doing something the whole world would consider her to be a villain for. Kinda like Thanos, to him he is trying to save the universe by committing genocide, but he's the bad guy and those that are trying to stop him are the good guys. Something like that, the MC is basically saving the world but people don't take kindly to it.
Warlock of the Magus World comes to mind first , then The Void Wolf( RRL ) , Supervillain ( RRL ) and Maybe The New World ( RRL )
Warlock of the Magus World and Reverend Insanity is my biggest recommendations. Both MCs are damn awesome and don't really have romance.

I think that The Tower of Karma is the novel for you, I didn't got to deep in it, but it seemed that the MC was broken to become a villain.
If you have already read it then of course its to your preference but i feel that for something like Overlord the anime just knows how to show the scenes
Light is not anti-hero... More like straight up villain... Probably one of the best villain of all time. He manipulated everyone around him according to his selfish wishes, including one who loved him the most.
FFF-Class Trashero. Yes to Antihero. Yes to motive. Does do large scale destruction but it's generally not his motive. Yes to intelligence. No romance as in feelings. He does have sex with some. Plenty of pawns. Cunning and masking true intentions? M8 he's the best at that.
Reverend Insanity for sure, however Fang Yuan is more of a villain than antihero. He not only lacks 'conventional heroic qualities', he's simply evil (I would say a sociopath). He's really ruthless but it's all rather business-like. There is no romance and he uses humans as pawns (it's basically his only relation with others, as he doesn't care about family, friendship, loyalty, affection etc.). He's also manipulative and cunning, I think he truly deserves the Oscar for his acting skills.
