"Hello future me" on youtube has some great videos on the topic. And most importantly: give details, but not too many.
https://www.masterclass.com/articles/how-to-write-an-engaging-fictional-world Just needs to have a sense of coherence and follow the principles of Chekhov's Gun. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chekhov's_gun As long as you don't create pointless lore like "Lord of the Mysteries", you'll be fine.
Try looking for some videos from world-building panels on Conventions. There was actually an online convention recently which had a world-building panel so you can try that one. It was under Maydaycon by FanFiAddict. I have yet to watch it myself as I was busy the day they were streaming.
I suggest watching a vid on what you feel you want to improve most, a video that talks about cliche's or one about worldbuilding (which races will you have? religions? etc.)
Pointless ?? Lol dude lotm has a very good lore. Lore is the most important part of the story and readers and MC actually learn the lore through murals, building and painting since author don't tell the lore directly to readers to avoid infodump. If you're a fan of dark souls or bloodborne, you're going to love lotm lore. And the lore affects everything from mc's allies, enemies to decicions and they always change based on the lore mc discovers. Calling it pointless is pretty laughable. Your view is pretty biased.
Geez just give it up dude. You're a pretty well-known LOTM fanboy hounding every thread that even mentions LOTM. No point attempting civil discussions or ranting here
If you want to learn more about writing, then I'd recommend you to watch Brandon Sanderson lectures, you can find them on youtube. He is probably the best author when it comes to world-building and character development in a fantasy setting.
Sorry to disappoint you friend, I think the term "lotm fanboy" doesn't suit me. In case you don't know, I actually made a very harsh review about lotm to the point I got gangbanged by lotm fans and I got reported for making "fairy tales" on my review (yes, my review is harsher than yours) so my review would get deleted (thankfully it's not deleted), hell I even hate MC and a side character that lotm fans love so much, and I don't even like it that much. But let's ignore that for now and yes let's not have any discussion about this. No need to talk to a narrow minded person like you for calling me fanboy (if I get called fanboy for this. what does it make you, someone who goes around every thread and mentions how pointless lotm's lore is). All I can say is it's unsuitable to say the lore pointless when it affects everything and plays a very important role and you go around saying it's pointless as if you've read so many chapters. But I respect your opinion regardless. (Tbh I wouldn't refute you for saying the lore is pointless had you read a lot chapter)
