I can help translate. My first language is actually Chinese, but since I've been away from China for years, some of the modern slang that might show up I'll probably need to look up. Terms that are super archaic always needs to be looked up unless you're a Chinese language major.

 

@Boy and the Beast and @jwang would you guys be interested in a hight-fantasy (not xianxia) or medieval/light-fantasy war novel?

 

Well anything is okay but these are my preferences:
Dark novels ( supernatural stuffs where the mc powers up slowly, similar to Terror Infinity ) / highschool stuff ( juvenille delinquent or stuffs like that, eg would be Juvenille medical God ), fusion with a bit of comedy would be great.

The following genres would not be preferable for me:
hentai ( if it is too much, if the mc is the one chasing after girls jokingly, then that's okay )
genderbender ( definitely a no)

 

A Darker novel with struggling MC sounds good for me. Maybe someone close to the MC dying that the readers care about to add some spices

 

As long as it isn't just a rampant power trip, I'm fine with either. My only desires would be that it doesn't have over used tropes found in your typical Xianxia stories. A lot of the times the writers seem to default to the Xianxia tropes and as a result it becomes Xianxia in a different setting. So, as a quick list of things I would like to avoid (unless it's to lampoon it): auction houses, pill making, power stages, tournaments, ascension into another plane after achieving certain power levels, and game style interfaces. I'd say no to organized crime syndicate as well, but those tend to go hand in hand with urban setting stories and not Xianxia, so I can overlook it.

 

I found a Apocalypse/Survival and High fantasy/Mercenary novel that looks interesting what do you guys think?

The survival is just Xianxia with dressings. Between the two I'd rather read about the one that is the Feng Sheng Ji knock off.

I found a novel about vampires, but the MC is a girl :/ Not sure if people like that. (There is a male MC as well ofc, but I think its more concentrated on the girl point of view)

 

Female MC tends to be slightly more interesting, since there isn't the dick measuring contest that's always going on in male MC stories. I don't mind what gender the MC is as long as it doesn't fall into the Xianxia trap.

The second one is a transmigration story. Not sure how far off from mainstream that would be.

The 17k one is a vampire story. It has a female main character, so you should probably enter with caution. No power levels, but there's mystical weapons and all that shenanigan that comes with the territory. It is complete, so it has that going for it. At 109 chapters, it can probably be completed relatively quickly.
