Using my old gaming tower to start up some home networking and figuring I'll start some self hosting.

At the moment I haven't setup much. Just a node with a few VMs.

    Found /r/selfhosted

They have a really nice pinned post with list for sys-admins and self hosted app list to get an idea of what I could do.

Planning to setup two RDP VMs to let my table top groups have access to some key restricted character building software I have~

Might grab a domain for a personal business email?
I've setup an in network test email server once but I haven't managed the security to the outside. Anyone have experience with that? Suggested setups?

I was so ready to read about people nerding about their miroscopes and niche research fields.

I only hope to get there in like a year or so. For now I am only starting to play around with Linux. But hey, we all start somewhere, right?

I use to work in an environmental lab here in the U.S. but that'd be a seperate thread. Xd

If you like I've been taking some courses on

Depending on how far along you are I can share the very messy notes I took. Their all typed so there's that. Lol

It let's you experiment with different systems and utilities you may not otherwise have access to or be able.

This explains it pretty well https://www.reddit.com/r/homelab/comments/8q1sz7/what_is_a_homelab_and_what_does_it_do/

mainly deals with economics and public policy though. Just statistical modelling as well as econometrics, as well as a little bit ML.
