If all of your people are making full fledged bases and are usually on half at a time then 4GB will be fine as long as you dont purposely throw tons of items on the ground

On skyblock then you would only be able to exceed that with modded machines and such things that do lots of stuff. Also, I recommend DefenseTech by AidanCBrady for explosions.

For hosting a smalls erver like that just for friends yod go for a minecraft server host that gives you a set amount of RAM, CPU cores and player slots. For bigger servers dedicated boxes are better and more fun to set up

An entry grade dedicated server is something like the $59 per month box that was at OVH a few years ago. It had 32GB of ram and a Xeon before E3s and E5s which is pretty old but at least it has a heap of cores

Ive never used minecraft hosting because that is cheap stuff for people not aimingto get much (if any) revenue for the server. It really depends on what mods you have but on skyvlock you could live with 2GB of ram fairly smoothly but modded machines(like mekanism or Thermal Expansion) will take up a heap. Especially with multiple dimensions like in RFTools

What type of mods are you using. Some take up a lit of aaerver resources but some with a lot of animated textures will sh** all over your Graphics card too
