I feel like there are. There must be. @Tilgarial can you translate some? Any that you like. It seems like you would have good taste. All the light novels I am still following, I am caught up on, or need to switch them out of my reading list. There must at least be webnovels?
Ehhh~ i think there probably are. No idea where I'd find them, though And I'm no good at translating xD
You don't read webnovels? D'ya speak/read duetsch fluently or did my mind make that up? I was sure you lived in duestchland for some reason.
Spoiler Not a novel, but still got a bit attention. As for seriously... rather than light novels, you could look for actual novels. Given how fantasy got well received in Germany(i'm basing this assumption solely on Gothic, Witcher, and LOTR reception), you might want to look for actual novels, they are kinda cool too. @Edit Spoiler I just realised, that fact that fantasy books/game reception(especially that only game was German) don't prove LN existence so let's pretend second part of my post was half-existent.
Ran outta likes. Yeah. Witcher, the novel, would be super interesting to read. I've seen people play it and it was really cool.
I do, but in english xD I havent tried finding any german webnovel sites yet And i do speak fluent german and live there, but as i learned english and german independently from each other and a bit disjointed, things turned out in a way that makes it hard for me to connect them xD
The Witcher series is not German, and has been translated. I think, due to the prevalence of English in Europe and the close proximity of the countries there, that you'll find a fair amount of the traditionally published novels have been translated. That said, I don't really know of anything from Germany offhand, so they may not have been. And it's not like everything will be translated.
Nah... i was born in the US and learned english there, haha But like... i moved around (and across the pond) quite a bit, but due to family stuff, when i was on one side, i didnt really have the chance to talk the other language, so it was either german or english, never really both. So i kinda had to learn things all over again~ and again. And again.... And they learn english fairly well in school. if they are into reading/writing even more so. So thats mostly done in english, so i imagine most germans writing webnovels do so in english as well
Oh. I think my great grandparents suffered from that too. My grandparents only spoke english since their parents didnt want to be deported for speaking german or having their children randomly blurt out german words. Except for curses. Those still happened, usually becuz of stove-chan.
Yeah~ Hahaha, yeah. I also tend to cuss in the language I'm currently not thinking in if something happens, haha
Where do u lives? In my country was unallowed speak german cuz war but german still is pretty solid in some cities.
Usa. Sumthin sumthin red scare? I think they were actively deporting people speaking not english. Usa still does that time to time. Like now, but its spanish. Or mexican spanish? Not sure what its called. Im not good at history.
I don't think they deport cuz they are not speaking english but because they are ilegal. Anyway, I don't remember if here the goverment deported but just put in prison or something similar for they speak the official language. Even if deported, it was nothing hard or even applied hard cuz today even has cities and people that only speak german.
Yeah. Well, I said great grandparents. Like, a long time ago. Apparently they were really worried about spies and therefore my grandparents only learned english since their parent were actively not speaking anything but english since they were really scared about being sent over the pond or incarcerated for being spies. Who?
Anyway, its a shame that your parents has not able to learn. Its a japanese novel adapted to manga then anime. Its based in 3th Reich.
I don’t know about Webnovels but if physical books are your thing Germany has a pretty good high fantasy and epic fantasy scene
