    Has anyone ever read a Xianxia novel where there isn't the standard arrogant young master, but an arrogant young mistress?

    Unless they're a love interest, arrogant young mistresses tend to appear mostly only in female protag stories. I dont think i've really seen any in M!Protag xianxia stories where they arent love interests or throwaway single appearance characters.

    of course, i could just be forgetting ones ive seen.

    Yes, they’re more often than not, the tsundere love interest harem member number 31415.

    And if not that then the love rival for the FL with their IQ lower to 60. Or they are the original owner of the body that the FL transmigrated to.

    If by xianxia you mean cultivation novels then maybe:
    1. Rebirth of the Strongest Female Emperor ( first 80 chapters are awkward but then it gets better)
    2. Unprecedented Pill Refiner: Entitled Ninth Young Lady
    3. Ostentatious Zhao Yao
    All features domineering, overbearing and arrogant female MC. 1 & 2 are fun action novels with cultivation bits and 3 (dropped after 20 chap) is apparently more centered around the romance.
