Spoiler authors that kills female leads

    I think it's just your typical "go save the princess" trope. You replace the saving part with reviving or getting revenge. And replace princess with just a simple love interest. Then you have your perfect excuse/reason/motivation to get stronger.

    Desolate Era did that for the whole second half of the series or more. First it's saving the princess, then the princess died and then it's try to revive her. And that's literally the whole motivation for the MC to get stronger. There's other plots in between but MC's so-called main driving force is simply to revive her.

    Douluo Dalu was not as bad. It only occurred as a subplot. But the MC's reaction to any harm to the princess is literally following the same trope.

    The love interest is a girl from the school he enters, but it turns out she's a spy and she was actually in love with him. War breaks out and she has to return or whatever, she gets killed and her soul is captured to blackmail MC. Someone also said that she never wanted to be a spy, they were using brainwashing or something.
