When I say Anime I mean Japanese drawn ( with hand or on PC) animation. This does NOT include CGI. Therefore, Avatar the Last Airbender is not an Anime. Neither is FF XII: Advent Children.
What does this say about all our teenage dreams of becoming a "manga artist". Drawing DBZ and stuff when we were young lol Does that mean we never could've really been "manga artists" because we weren't Japanese??
The term "anime" though originally meant to mean "Animation" but because the term was mainly popularized by japan, it kinda became their trademark. So imo Avatar the Last airbender was considered as a american cartoon but with mix japanese art style. However despite my conclusion, i'm not really that sure considering how people who knew "RWBY" (an american webtoon with distinct japanese influenced art style) considered it as an anime so... ??
Kind of, but no. It's definitely anime-inspired but i wouldnt call it anime. RWBY, on the other hand, i'd call anime.
