I wonder which one is better KC or AL.

 

As i have yet to play KC idk. But something I know is KC hate gaijin.

 

KC : fully RNG, nothing animate

AL : their fate in your hand, animate, bullet hell especially in hard stage for event and latest world

Ah, I believe they are for retrofitting certain ships, like the 3 starters ships. If you select a ship in the dockyard, there is an arrow pointing up surrounded by some stuff in a swirly circle thing.

EDIT: Most ships can't be retrofitted.
