Though if I had a son, what would I name them? It's always so difficult. I'm meaning along the line of Shizukani's idea. Let's say your name is James and your wife's name is Alice. Sure you can get Jace out of that but you could just grab part JM and the ALC in those names. And then just whip up Jacolhm or something or other.
If I ever have kids, I'd like to name them after family members I actually loved and cared about that are gone. :[ At the top of my list is Juanita (I also think it's really pretty) from my Nana. Cody Bo, which was a cousin's name. TayShaun was an uncle that just...went poof. But I ain't seen him in year, but even if he isn't dead, I loved him a lot and he's gone. And I like the name. And Mary Ann or Anna Lisa are pretty names. ^^ I will be disappointed if anyone actually seriously names their children Kaneki, Naruto, freaking Deku or stuff like that. Kids gonna get bullied-

Well for Richard, Rich and Rick are the short forms of it, Dick rhymes. Robert, what do you think rhymes with Robert? Bobert, so Bob, just like Rob and Bob rhyme. William has Will which rhymes with Bill. Henry has Hank, Hendrick which is the Dutch form of Henry. And so on and so forth.

Sounds like you're overly sensitive. Bob is going to be a name whether you like it or not even if it takes on other forms. Just think of it as a derivative of Robert. If it's a name it's a name.
