Thanks for the spoilers. Her father trying to force her back to the capital and the abuse being hidden was too frustrating. I'm gonna put this on hold until the manhwa catches up to the big reveal.

I understand that Beatty thinks that her dad hates her. Plus, it seems like she hasn't even processed her abuse, she just doesn't want to get killed. It makes sense that she wouldn't try to explain that she was mistreated, since that was just the life she knew for the past 18 years. She's used to it, and she's suspicious of kind acts. But man is this misunderstanding frustrating to read. How did the Korean readers stand this for 80+ chapters?

Edit: just back from reading the novels, their conversations (brother and father with Beatty) is so heartbreaking. So agree with father, keep the aunt alive until she's begging for death.

The father was basically still at the warzone. The war didn’t end up early like in the 2nd timeline. Also the aunt was her wife’s sister so all the more he trusted her. Plus the aunt continuously send him updates. Also that count who was the right hand of the duke was there to make sure the duke won’t find out anything about it. Truly snakes.
