    >_> I saw a few seconds of the Artemis Fowl trailer and lost my shit. Disney took a shit on one my favorite book series as a YA. I was like, this is effing Avatar and M Night Shyamalan or that god awful Percy Jackson movie...heh. The Eragon movie was also kinda bad...anyways I felt like ranting with people who felt the same rage seeing beloved content get completely butchered by shitty, shitty execs and directors and writters and producers...just everyone.

Are they any other bad movie/tv series/anime/comic adaptations y'all can think of? This also includes remakes.

    Damn, I haven't made a thread is a long-ass time.

TLDR; Disney sucks for what they did to Artemis Fowl. Do yourself a favor and read the book series.

Glad to see Parth Rants are back~

As for a movie adaptation that was horrible... DBZ Evolution still takes the 1st spot for me. I saw the first airing of my city, and God, it was terrible...

Really not worth the few dollars spent going there.

DBZ Evolution was a hard one to sit through, and I couldn't do it sober. The Last Airbender was absolutely terrible. Stretching The Hobbit into 3 movies and throwing in new characters was a bad choice. Thought both the Deathnote and the Bleach live action adaptations were terrible. Wasn't a fan of the EarthSea either.

I thought the Percy Jackson Lightning thief movie was good, it drove me to read the book a few years later when my English class in Third year in high school required us to read a novel and write book analysis about it or something. I chose Red Pyramid of Rick Riordan but I saw that my friend had lightning thief, this is the whole reason why I got into reading in the first place, I read it then rewatched the movie I watched as a kid then found out that it was actually shit. Read Rick Riordans stories and Pittacus lore when my mates and I swapped books when we finished reading, then when I got into reading the novel of Overlord I couldn't get back to reading western books, so now I'm stuck here :blobjoy:

He was a werewolf (named Osaru) that was controlled by Piccolo... Some sort of ultimate weapon of Piccolo or something.
But then Goku channeled his peace of mind like a Gundam G-fighter protagonist and became himself again.

And on that matter, Piccolo was the one to kill his grandpa.
Oh, I saw it on the cinemas too, it was equally as bad~
Oh, Hobbit was terrible too... I was like... "Wasn't the entire last movie only like... 5 pages long in the novel?"

So talking to my dad about it, who liked the movie as a person who didn't read the books, he seemed to find a lot of the elements that they took out of the book to be very interesting. Overall the plot was destroyed though, so I don't think anyone who read the books could enjoy the movie much. I think a lot of these movies are just attempts at taking the general good elements from the source material and then put it into a standard Hollywood format, rather than catering to the people who were fans of the source material.

ah...never could get myself to read the last book...
uh...ok Disney, lets be so progressive we completely erase the whole struggle of Holly to be taken seriously as the first female LEPrecon and how much her actions were scrutinized...

For the Hobbit, I'd say the first movie was pretty good but the 2nd and 3rd were just dragging on. The trilogy could have been really good as a duology without all the extra fluff.

I'ma be a bit controversial and say that I'm not a fan of the harry potter movie. The first one was good. The second one was too. After that? not a fan. especially not post-goblet of fire. The 7th book which was split into two movies for some reason was a pretty good ending, surprising well done...the movie? lame-ass ending with bright lights and randomly disappearing into dust...like wtf was the ending.

I liked the Ed Shereen song.

I see, you showed your dad the R-18 story that @Cupcake Ninja made about the birth of Bot-chan~

Truly a cultured person you are~
LoTR was 3 big books and was done in 3 movies.

Hobbit was 1 short book and was done in 3 movies... >.>

Hobbit could definitely be a single movie.
Ah, I wasn't fond of the Harry Potter movies from Goblet of Fire onwards either.

I remember getting pissed off while watching the movie because Goblet of Fire was the only book I had read of the series, and there were way too many things on the movie that annoyed me a that point.

That experience made me give up on reading the other books because I'd dislike the movies if I read them for sure~

    Ella Enchanted.

I had the opposite experience. The first few movies super pissed me off because of all the changes. By the end, I was more like, eh, whatever.

I agree with @AliceShiki. The Hobbit could (and should) have been done in one movie. Hell, just adapt the animated one from the 70s.

Just remembered the movie Priest. It's an entertaining film if you haven't read the manwha, but it was changed so much .
