    Are they interested in reading (fantasy in particular) in the first place? I think many people don't really go straight to xianxia right away anyway. I started with JP LNs and my other friend that now reads a bit did the same thing too. If they're willing to try something just pick a popular one which you think fits some of the genres of other things they read (they read already, right?) already and get them to try it.

    Well first you need to get them interested in reading, since I know a lot of people that like animes but don't really like reading. Then you give the the best outtakes you can find, if possible passages that make you laugh a lot. Then you got them hooked.

    You're probably better trying to get them into JP LNs first then. Once they realise they hate wimpy MCs and violent tsuderes and complain to you, you can tell them 'in CN novels though the MCs are smart and kill everyone and get all the women'.

    Get them interested in cn stories with strong female mc's first then hope to get them into the full xianxia stuff.
