    these are all interesting ideas, but i need more practical ones, like trapping them in a room with only printed out xianxia novels

    Well you tell thing it has violence ,women ,money ,flight ,demons ,power ,and mysteries .If that fails tell them their are dragons .

    Well the other option is saying that you can dominate everything as you go along men,women,monsters ,demons,mythical creatures ,nobility,cities,provinces,counties,eventually the world ,and afterword the world !

    Well, the way I got into xianxia from manga was
    -Manga
    -Light Novels: (Baka-tsuki)
    -Re:Monster/LMS
    -Royalroadl fanfictions
    -Author directed to Coiling Dragon
    -Spcnet forums
    -etc.

    Don't know if that would help at all, but all the advice I can give.

    I used anime ->manga ->novel route myself
    get them hooked up on something that leads to xianxia
    To me xianxia are difficult to get hooked on and confusing but I still love some of them
    and to get fish on the hook you just need to patiently lure it in deep enough
